I've always found acceleration to be stupid.
Yes, I've been offered to be accelerated, and I've had opportunities to. My friends all were obsessed with getting through it as fast as possible. Don't get me wrong, they're quite bright people, but I don't believe acceleration is always the right choice.
For one, acceleration puts a strain on the individual, and for two, sometimes it's not just about what you learn, it's about when you learn it.
After all, journey before destination.
(There was also a gifted program at my school but I didn't find or think that it was interesting at all)
