  1. I'm gonna agree with Reading on this one. The mathematical probability works out to 4 village Defense (assuming 5 elims and no one with Specializations in Lines of Warding) but that doesn't mean that's what we'll actually end up with. We could end up with no one drawing Lines or 9 people drawing Lines, the former leading to our Camp being overrun and the latter leading us to use up way too much chalk. Given that my rate of rolling elim in these games is about 30% higher than it should be, I'm not inclined to trust chance very much : P. That being said, I'm not sure what the best method of arranging defense is.
  2. Well, thanks everyone for not deciding to murder me while I slept! I appreciate it. Quinn By the way, I had an idea... so, y'know how there are currently 6 Bribes in the Camp Supply? So that's 6 Valuable Items. If the Thief were to take five of those, they would win. Now, to my mind the Bribes are far less useful to us than the other three kinds of Valuable Items (Guns, Shadowblazes, and Ornate Clocks). Regardless of my alignment, I'd rather the Thief steal 5 Bribes than steal like, two Bribes and a Gun and a Shadowblaze or what have you. Also, I would rather not randomly lose items that I was planning to use... So, my thought is, why don't we leave the Bribes for the Thief? That way they don't have a reason to try to steal from us, because they can use their actions to collect Bribes instead, and we don't lose any kill or defense Items.
  3. You're right, the Gears train is odd. I'll join you on Quinn
  4. This... isn't necessarily the case. I don't mind too much saying that I started with a Specialization. It's possible one of the elims did too. They might already be able to roleblock without us knowing.
  5. Ohhhh right sorry... your post threw me off because I expected you to be stealing hearts, not votes. I'm disappointed, ngl XD
  6. Ooooo did TJ just claim Thief?
  7. oh no not this again
  8. ...oops. I sent the PM before you responded! I'm sorry! XD
  9. I mean, you could go for the Maps to try to get a resupply...
  10. This is definitely possibly a really bad idea, but I'll an LG slot. For my Awakeners game, if I can ever get it sorted out XD
  11. Heyyyy @Sart what does the Order of Actions look like? eg if the elims kill me the same turn I try to pass an item onto someone else, does the item get passed on or does it die with me? And other stuff like that.
  12. Ah, that makes sense. Another thought... wouldn't it be fun if the elims had to submit the correct location for their kill to go through? They could even start off with a list of where everyone is, so that during C1 they basically are where they're at right now, but then moving around actually can protect you? (This is a terrible idea don't listen to me XD)
  13. Ah, that makes more sense. I also think that if it's a role madness game it might make sense to add a couple of roles... maybe a role that knows who started in their tenement (the Landlord) or one that can deflect someone's action back onto them (the Misting? I mean, the Obligators are hunting for Mistings, amirite?). Obviously I'm not the expert on game balancing or anything though XD so maybe I'm wrong about that...
  14. Yeah, I noticed that too--maybe the Carpenter can move every other turn? Or every turn? Does the Elder have the option of guessing the locations of both players, and if one of them is correct then the action goes through? Or do they only guess one? I also think the Informant is a bit complicated, and probably not very useful since in most cases you can't be certain who your target last targeted. It might be more useful to have Informant learn the role of another player, or who another player's target is, rather than the target's location.
  15. I am the same, with the caveat that I often accidentally cause chaos without meaning to...
  16. Okay so me and Lotus switch places? She does what I do (analyze posts, post every three seconds) and all my posts are RP? I'm... actually not capable of that nevermind xD
  17. @Sart something I realized: I don't think there's any reason the Thief wouldn't just claim? Because they'd be a wasted kill on both sides, right? I mean, ig people could get annoyed at them for the stealing but that's a relatively low incentive to use up a kill imo.
  18. I'm just excited for open PMs (sorry Sart)
  19. I can't believe that record got beaten so quickly XD I thought we were gonna go down in SE history...
  20. I mean... idk if this is exactly what you have in mind but the basic mechanic for my Awakeners game kinda addresses this. It's not so much based on roleclaims, since at the start no one has a role, but more on collaborating through PMs. . It... needs a lot of work though lol Yes, it did. Having never GMd before that side of things was and is difficult for me to see, especially as compared to the frustrations players have voiced, which I... relate to, a lot. But I guess that means I ended up exhibiting one of the things I called out in that post, not looking at things through the eyes of others. So it's nice to have someone balance that out with the GM perspective
  21. I mean... technically you could have had an item and a role. Though of course if the person you were talking to had scanned you for Investiture they'd know you were lying. But then, they would know you were a Shard anyway at that point : P
  22. Hey, maybe we'll both roll elim in the LG! but that would be my fourth elim game in a row so I also kinda hope not
  23. ...oh lol I guessed Pearl before you subbed in XD
