  1. Hmmm so I had an idea... originally it (kinda?) stemmed from Araris's PM unsafety idea but it's evolved in my head to the point of being unrecognizable so it's not really that anymore XD. Basically, it would be a faction game (and I have never played a faction game, let alone run one, so I have no idea how they work or how one balances the win-cons but for this idea it wouldn't matter) and probably partial blackout? But the basic idea that I have here would definitely be explained so idk if that's "blackout" or just "secrets". It would be a game of 25 people, containing five factions of six players each. No, I did not get the math wrong there . The flavor would probably be intrigue and politics among the nobles of Mistborn Era 1. Each faction would be a House, and it would have to keep track of finances and defense and attacks on itself and other houses (all of which would be done through actions available to every faction) while also pursuing its win-con, which would be different for each House. Each House would also have a unique action (perhaps they can kill a player each turn, roleblock all actions taken by a specific role each turn, and so on). Within each House, each person would have a different role. There'd be 1. The House Leader. This person submits the House action(s) for each turn. 2. The Socialite. This person goes to every party that occurs in the city and keeps track of all the gossip within the city. They may create PMs with other players (maybe limited, maybe not). 3. The Bodyguard? Or Head of Security? Not sure about the name yet. They may protect one member of their house each cycle. May not protect the same member twice in a row. 4. The Misting. This person may roleblock one person per turn. (possibly will enhance the powers of a different role from each House to further differentiate the five Houses, so this would be come the Mistborn and would be able to do... something extra. Not sure what). 5. The Sympathetic Obligator. While not technically part of your House, this person is a close ally, perhaps because their financial or political interests closely align with yours. Being a part of the government and the religion, they wield a lot of power. Would be some kind of vote-manip. 6. The Traitor/Turncoat/Spy. This is kind of the main mechanic of the game, really--the rest could be tweaked to balance this out. Each House has convinced someone in another House to align with their interests. So, that person is in the docs for both Houses, but only wins with the one where they're listed as the Spy. In the other House, they are a Socialite, a House Leader, a Bodyguard, a Misting, or a Sympathetic Obligator, and have all the abilities that entails. Each House cannot win unless it eradicates the Spy in its own ranks--but each House would have a win-con that would be greatly helped by the information that the Spy can give, to discourage everyone from outing their spies and exeing all of them from the start. Not sure how that would work yet, but I'd figure it out I guess. And of course, nominally no House approves of the existence of Spies, so once a month (each Day, in-game) they hold a trial to attempt to ferret out Spies. Anyway, on a scale of 1 to 10, how impossible to balance does that seem?
  2. @Straw as a heads-up, I changed my display name. (this is Quinn in case that's not obvious lol)
  3. I mean that works, if you can be around for it. Fair enough, I guess.
  4. Actually, wait, we know there hasn't been! Unless it started in the hands of a Thief, who wouldn't be in any hurry to pass it on. If the elims started with it then the Defense last cycle would have been 2, not 3. If the village had it then the Defense would have been 4. (three people Defended.) Edit: ninja'd lol I'm... not clear on why I'm making less and less sense : P I'm trying to close all the loopholes in how we keep track of Defense. Since Archer is confirmed vil (no Shadowblaze in play, or we would have seen altered Defense) we know he won't lie to us about who said they were Defending. If we only told him, then the elims could just kill him to break the chain, so we have someone else know too--and make sure everyone's aware of it so that if that person's elim then they'll be aware we watching them and will be less likely to lie. That way we can organize the precise amount of Defense we need. Of course, the second the Shadowblaze or a Gun is taken from the Camp Supply that changes, but until then this should work just fine. Edit: oops, didn't mean to double-post : P I thought someone else had posted (my notifs are weird)
  5. Not saying it's likely, but it's possible and I'd rather account for it than not. By having the two people claim to Archer, who is almost certainly village, can tell us whether he got two claims, and whom the elims at least have a reason not to kill, we more or less cover every combination of people being elims--except if there's been a Shadowblaze in play, which I find... less than likely.
  6. And what if one of the potential Defenders is elim, and is planning on killing Striker to keep their identity out of village hands? They could just not claim to anyone, not defend, and no one would be the wiser. The Defense wouldn't necessarily be inadequate, but it could end up that way.
  7. "Striker is elim" is one of the scenarios we're trying to account for by telling a second person. And I'm not saying that 2nd person would lie anyway. More likely they'd RB and/or kill the person claiming.
  8. And if the second person is elim? We need to know who's being claimed to so that if something happens to the Defense we know of everyone who could have done it.
  9. Er... no? It's not?
  10. Oh I thought you meant just the issue with having only one person have that information is that then it's easier for them to lie? But ig that wouldn't work so well in this case. I mean. We can choose someone that most or all of us think is village? idk. Edit: *facepalm* just have @StrikerEZ tell @Archer! There's no Shadowblaze in play yet so we can at least trust Archer not to lie.
  11. Hmmm fair. Could also be a problem if the elims just kill Striker.
  12. What was it, out of curiosity?
  13. Why not do both? The montage could start with that, after all I'm paranoid that I'm gonna die to the NK tonight and I feel like I should post a final reads list or something but I don't actuallly... have any reads... yet... so ig I'm not doing that : P
  14. ...so no one RNGd that they'd defend, huh. I guess it's probably a good thing Striker's arranging Defense. Also, @StrikerEZ if I see less than the promised Defense of 4, would you be willing to let us know which people said they would Defend? That way we can keep a close eye on them. It's easy enough to lie and say you were RBd : P
  15. : P I've announced all of my actions so far out of necessity, and that's not the first time I've said I don't have any anyway. Little late now
  16. Those people could easily have been a combination of elims and people who RNGd that they wouldn't Defend. Also, note that I don't have Chalk rn so I'm using my action to take some from the Supply (hopefully that'll go through :P)
  17. Ohhh wait did I... I did *facepalm* I thought Ash was confused as to when I took the Map, not that I had written the line I drew incorrectly Edit: I think I'm just confused by this because I just played a game where "Warders" could protect their bondmates... so I think of Warding as protecting a person, not protecting the Camp. : P
  18. The actions that I've taken so far: D1: took a Lantern from the Supply N1: used my starting Chalk to draw a Specialized Line of Warding (edit FORBIDDANCE I was still thinking about Striker organizing the Lines of Warding and I typed Warding ) D2: attempted to take a Map from the Supply N2: I haven't decided yet but I'll probably go for Chalk : P
  19. I tried to grab a Map as well. Also I had no Chalk anyway, because I used my D1 action to take the Lantern and my N1 action to draw a Line of Warding with my starting Chalk. So I couldn't have been the one to remove the vote. I'd be hesitant to trust this but if that Defense doesn't come through I suppose we can always exe Striker and/or the people who claimed to be drawing LoWs. So sure, organize through him : P if it fails we'll at least have some idea of where to look for elims...
  20. Archer is the non-Rithmatist. I'm not over my suspicion of Mat, personally, and I think some other people are exeing him for info and some others just don't want to exe any of the other options and some others wanted a tie : P
  21. *blink blink* wait I though Books' first game was MR46 for some reason... I can see why I wouldn't have known about LG72 tho XD I didn't really pay attention to that game after C4ish
  22. ...when has Books rolled elim?
  23. hey do you and Illwei wanna spearhead a last-minute shift onto Connie with me? kidding kidding that's a dumb idea last-minute shifts are always bad
  24. We're working on that @Mist You like RNG this game, right? What do you say to tying Illwei and Mat? (yes I am now trying to make this happen even though I don't like ties XD
  25. @StrikerEZ I stand corrected : P So if TJ, Stink, or Lotus moves to Mat, we'll have a tie.
