  1. I'm pretty sure you are misapplying the math. Using that scenario where 6 out of 18 players are Elim, suppose you were lucky and did flip all 6 Elims. That knowledge does affect the rest of the players. You can't tell me that the remaining 12 players still have a 1/3 chance of being Elim. You are right that it doesn't change what their original probability was, but you certainly know that the rest have 0 chance of being Elim now.
  2. Gears The stuff on STINK is based on theories without much substance, so I don't want to go there. I'd rather vote on Gears because I don't think he has the best interests of Village at heart. He's unnecessarily giving tips to Elims. Yeah, he plays it off as something pre-written and therefore NAI. It strikes me as a convenient way to prepare for helping Elim teammates in case he rolled Elim. He could have removed the stuff that helps Elims. And if someone argues that the info is fairly obvious, then why bother putting it there? There might be an Elim out there who isn't paying much attention to the rules, so seeing a nice post with exactly what to do in their role is just what they'd like to see. I'm not completely against discussing Elim strategies. There are times to discuss them so that you can think of ways to counter them. But the post by Gears was simply giving Elims advice on how to use their role effectively. Not good.
  3. Haha, thanks Thanks also I've read the back and forth regarding how to handle info and claims and such. Not sure exactly where I stand. I can't help feeling that for role madness games, it's probably better to out information you get, otherwise it could easily be lost and your role ends up being worthless. I understand the worries about it giving info to the Elims, but they aren't quite so organized in this game and can't easily do as much with it. Even things like info giving them a NK target isn't necessarily all bad because the Elims each still have to determine whether they want to use their NK on the target or assume that the other Elim team will take care of it. So there's like a 50% chance they both don't attack or they both attack the same target (thus wasting a NK). Then take something like a scan. If you don't out your info and get killed before that, we've lost info that might be important for the game. Special roles are assumed to be balanced between teams, so getting use out of each we have is important. Yeah, outing the info puts you as a target, but really you've already gotten info and the chances that you'll get anymore important info during the game is slim. Like someone pointed out I think, this game maybe has like 7 or 8 cycles. Even hitting a good scan the 1st time is quite a success.
  4. Congrats to Chasmgoat! Yeah, challenging was the only option for at least the chance that you had been bluffing. It was too bad that all Assassins had been revealed because otherwise that offers another path for bluffing. Actually I thought things were over a few rounds earlier because I completely forgot about the Allegiance swapping. Aspiring Writer used that nicely to extend the game. I think having Allegiances in the game did add another nice layer that some players used to good advantage. And that Treasury Reserve was sitting there with lots of coins a couple times during the game. If you were looking through the role PM, yes, at one point the Captain was in the deck and Negative had the Ambassador for awhile. Eventually he kept the Captain. There are currently 3 Ambassadors and 1 Contessa in the deck. It was actually too bad that not many Ambassadors were in play, and the players tended not to want to bluff about having one. Yeah, unfortunately when it is evident that you only have a Duke, you can be stolen from continually with nothing to do. You might have tried what Aspiring did by bluffing an Ambassador all of a sudden. Even though people might highly doubt you have it, each player doesn't want to be the one to challenge and possibly lose to the small chance you actually did bluff about your Duke the whole time.
  5. @Chasmgoat Do you block, challenge, or do nothing?

  20. Okay, Chasmgoat becomes a Reformist. Then it's Chasmgoat's turn. Since he has 11 coins, he's required to coup and his only target is Aspiring Writer... So Aspiring Writer is eliminated and his last card is Duke. Round 19 begins. @Negative_Null Your turn next.
