  1. I'm considering picking up that book too, I've heard so many mixed reviews that I figured that I have to read through it myself. I'm rather intrigued by the setting and the tie-in TV show "The Acolyte," because that just sounds epic. The final thing is that I'm an absolute sucker for a connected universe, so I'll give it a fair shot and see how it goes, especially with how it compares to the rest of the canon. Side note, the Prequel era has been officially named "The Fall of the Jedi," which I think that was an excellent choice as it has a nice and fitting ring to it that plays into the tragedy that is the Prequel era.
  2. Someone explain to me how on earth I am only now hearing the legendary piece that is "Diggy Diggy Hole." I had no clue that I lived under a rock so big that i never noticed the Dwarves from Minecraft singing and digging under me. Let me just say, this is a masterpiece, and knowing its origin story makes it so much better.
  3. I find myself remembering a time when it was all one story with one guy behind it, which is my biggest beef with the sequels, they don't feel like a Trilogy at all. JJ made an alright film with VII, which was mostly about setting up the nest two films, which Ryan Johnson promptly threw all of that in the trash for the sake of "subverting expectations." Then JJ came back and promptly threw everything that Johnson built up and threw that in the trash, trying to write two films in one. If you ask me, the prequels had several redeeming qualities (You could tell that they were a trilogy, they continued with the Star Wars tradition of pushing the boundaries of what's possible for special effects, they rhymed with and built up the OT, and many others), and the prequel's biggest pitfall was taken care of (this pitfall being that the story was simply too big for just three movies, which was solved by the Clone Wars 2008 TV show). I just don't see the redeeming qualities for the sequels, nor do I really see a way for them to fix any of the numerous major pitfalls.
  4. Caden glared at the partygoers, "as your wish my lord." He turned around with another flair of his cape, spreading the scent of smoke and mud that came off of him around the room, and walked towards one of the side doors. He had his body guards close behind him, and his trailed a small amount of mud behind him as he walked.
  5. Caden looked up and spoke in his gravelly voice, "the traitor is dead, and all of his followers have been scattered. If they ever gather again, they'll be swiftly crushed once more."
  6. Kuno smiled, this time looking pleased. "They chose those names, and many other names like them, to create that ominous sense. After all, if you intend to wipe out all of humanity, then it is much easier if they're too scared to do anything about it, wouldn't you agree?"
  7. "Yes, quite strange, ain't they? You identify yourself by what noises grabs your attention, and yet each noise has a history and meaning behind it whenever it's spoken." Kuno paused and turned his head to look at Mira, "just as those sounds translated into not just thoughts, but a specific feeling for you. In this case, that feeling was ominous, and rightly so."
  8. Kuno chuckled to himself, "oh no, it's not that my friend, I just enjoy names and all that they stand for. You see, I view it as the worst insult to not have a name, and so I didn't want to insult you by not using a name. Which in truth, I've come to wonder why beyond 'humanity,' our people don't have a name. Even the amal have a name for their people, 'The Dire Recompense,' or 'The Looming Reclamation," or whatever."
  9. Caden approached the entrance of the King's castle, cursing at the assortment of guests that got in his way. Fortunately, many parted automatically, whether that was because of Caden's presence itself, or that of his two ever constant bodyguards that were at his shoulders, he didn't care. As his boots sounded with a clear clink on the castle's stairs, he made his way to the entrance to find one of those infernally useless doormen asking him for an invitation. Caden only took the time to shout at the man before pushing past him, "fool, get out of my way!" Right as he pushed through the main door, he noticed that everyone as wearing masks and cursed at himself for forgetting about the masquerade. That would explain the excessive amount of servants. He paused, debating whether or not he should continue before a servant approached him, "sir, it seems you've entered without an invitation. Unless you provide one, I'll have to have you thrown out." Caden turned to the servant, glaring at him, he then straightened his posture so that he towered over the man. The servant didn't flinch which was impressive on his part, it might have been because of how much older this one was. Caden let out a low growl as he took a slow breath before speaking, "I am Caden Praetorium, surely you have me on your little list." His voice was low, with a gravelly texture. The servant, recognizing him, pointed to his face, "my lord, since this is a masquerade, you must be wea-" Caden swung a hand at the servant in anger, purposely not hitting anything. "Bah! You're wasting my time, servant!" Caden turned around, flared his cape, and walked into the ballroom straight through the crowd, smiling to himself as people moved to get out of his way. He went directly to the King's table, and then bowed from his waist down at the king, "my lord, I have returned!" @Channelknight Fadran
  10. "That sounds right, or er . . . the way that he said that we should go."
  11. Kuno's face was covered with a pleasant smile, "indeed, it reminds me of a place that I once called home. It was truly a lovely place. Now, I'm sure that you'd love for me to continue to call you my friend, but surely there's some sort of name that I can use to reference you."
  12. Another brief moment of silence, "did you come alone?" @xinoehp512
  13. "Humor us 1-5-6-1. It is our job to learn all that we can."
  14. There was a moment before the voice responded, "yes, this language is called English. Where are you from Entity 1-5-6-1?"
  15. Well done man, 1,000 is an impressive number, and this is an impressive 1,000th post. I'm honored to be mentioned in it.
  16. They fear what they will discover, but I have no such weaknesses.
  17. @ProfetessaOscura
  18. "Oh? Well, I guess that I could do that too. What are you doing anyways?"
  19. "I've done most of what I've planned to do so far. I'm not sure where to go from here though. If I go back, then I'll either have to outmatch Sylvie or just play along."
