  1. A strange noise came from down the cave and got closer and close. The noise sounded as if it were solid objects were smacking each other repeatedly at a nearly impossible speed. All of a sudden, some sort of flickering began to happen that appeared to be the creator of these noises. It looked as if something flickered in and out of view faster than the blink of an eye. In a matter of seconds it began to slow down enough that it took on the shape of a human. As the shape became more distinguishable, it seemed to move its mouth to speak, but the noises that came out were grating to the ears of those who heard it. The entire sensation stopped almost as quickly as it started with a ear piercing pop as a man stood right where all of the activity happened. The man was dressed in a cheap, pinstripe suit with his most dominating feature being a large handlebar mustache. The man was distracted when he appeared, smacking the side of a handheld device as if trying to get it to work properly.
  2. Caden spun around to a guardsman that was at his side, "marshal three squads of guards and move them to where this serving lady last saw them." He then turned to another guard, "sweep the entire courtyard and surrounding wall, she are not to escape!" Caden pointed towards two nearby guardsmen, "come with me, we must check on the King immediately. That child will have to wait where those guardsmen left her." He then stalked down the hall with the two guardsmen trotting to keep up.
  3. Caden spun about to strike the guard in order to relieve his built up anger, but contained himself after he heard what he said. He leapt forward and grabbed the woman by her shoulders, staring directly into her eyes with a burning intensity. "Where." Two of Caden's personal guards stood over the King, but they didn't speak a word. It wasn't until a castle guardsman spoke that the brief silence was broken. "Sir, you were attacked by an assassin. We're holding you here until the general has secured the castle."
  4. As soon as Caden left the ballroom and the Ravenness's sight, his confidence seemed to visibly boost. He didn't speak a word until he found a team of his own men, not some of the pitiful castle guard. "One squad, take these three fools and hold them in the dungeon until I can deal with them! The other will take this child and secure her until I return from checking on the King, am I clear?" The men nodded, and they moved to take custody of the people as directed. Caden glanced towards the child, "I am not that monstrous Ravenness child, but you will be questioned when I return, and I expect you to answer what I ask." Caden then stormed off to get to the King's location in order to be sure that he was secure. That meeting with the Ravenness had unsettled him enough, and he needed to get his mind off of how infuriated it made him to think about how scared he had been, like a child. He hated that creature and her power over him, he hated that she had the power to torture to her heart's content with no fear of reprisal so long as she remained in the King's favor, and he most especially hated that he could easily become her victim if the King uttered but a few words. He remembered the last time he felt such fear, and it only made him see red as he relived that terrible night in his head. He could feel his fingernails digging into his palms and his teeth grinding against each other long before he got to the place that he had left the King. He nearly struck the next face that he saw, but he barely managed to contain himself.
  5. Edgeworth nodded to the judge as he stood up, "thank you your honor. I merely wanted to point out that the Doctrine of Terrorist Management applies to this case specifically, since the defendant is being charged with terrorism. As such, 'the treatment of the defendant, no matter how inhumane, can't be used for the dismissal of any case involving a degree of suspicion towards terrorist actions.' I'm sure the defense was simply seconds away from explaining this, but I'd rather be sure that it gets brought up." Edgeworth sat back down, "that is all your honor, until my cross-examination that is."
  6. Edgeworth raised his index finger, "your honor, if I may?" @Negative_Null
  7. Caden growled louder, "you'll both be coming with me, now stand up!" Caden pulled the child behind him as he stalked out of the ballroom without offering so much as a glance towards the Ravenness. "Anyone caught leaving this room will be killed if they are lucky!"
  8. Caden glared at the guard, making it clear that this was not over. "If you value the safety of this castle, the King, and even your life, then yes."
  9. Caden turned to look at the King's table, refusing to make eye contact with the Ravenness. "Perhaps you can make that excuse, but this boy cannot. All guards know what the thirteen bells mean, and what they have to do. If he doesn't then he is a failure and must be dealt with." Caden turned about to address the entire room, "anyone else who's unable to follow the lockdown will be dealt with as a traitor, you understand?!"
  10. Caden stopped abruptly, not turning to look at the Ravenness. "You do know that we're on a stage 13 lockdown, correct Ravenness?" He spoke the title as if it were filled with poison.
  11. Caden growled again before tossing the guard aside. "Idiot! No one is to move without my command, that is the lockdown! If you cannot find a way to secure this child while awaiting orders, then you are worthless. No, worst then worthless, a traitor!" Caden pulled the child along as he approached where he had thrown the guardsman, "if you can't take the security of the castle and its King seriously, then you are a traitor to your King." Caden began to draw his sword.
  12. Caden grabbed the collar of the guard's uniform, lifting him off of his feat. "And just what do you think you were about to do? Breach the lockdown?"
  13. Caden growled at the guard, "and why was this not reported to me boy. Do you not know how this lock down works?"
  14. Edgeworth stood up, "your honor, if I might have a moment." @Negative_Null
  15. Caden strode straight up to the man, "she has no authority right now, only I can give you orders to move out of this room! Now, where did you find her?" Caden had moved to impose himself over the guard in order to intimidate him.
  16. "Hold!" Caden shouted at the guards as they had begun to walk away. He had been listening in to what a messenger was whispering into his ear and had just now seen the guards walking away after talking orders from the Ravenness. He stormed past the Ravennes, trying to avoid looking at her. "Where are you taking her under the lockdown boys?"
  17. Caden grit his teeth as the Ravenness stared at him through her black mask. "I can't make an exception, especially not for you."
  18. Caden heard someone approaching and he turned to see the Ravenness herself coming. Caden paled slightly, but he stood up straight to try to impose himself over her. "No one is allowed to leave without my permission, that includes you Ravenness."
  19. Edgeworth stood again, "thank you, your honor." Edgeworth gestured to the side, where a man brought forward a television and switched it on."My first score of evidence is the security footage as recovered from the second crime scene where we can identify the defendant to be one of the assailants. I will also call forth a Video Analysis Expert to witness that this footage is real and that the defendant is indeed one of the assailants." As Edgeworth spoke, the TV displayed footage recovered from the night of the crime, and although it was damaged and proceeded to show a great deal of static at times, one could recognize Cruz in many of the salvageable shots. In these shots, Cruz's actions were displayed to be violent, showing him and Trace attacking several individuals. Just as the footage was nearing its end, a balding man who had a monkey's tail approached the stand. The balding man turned to the judge and bowed his head slightly before the bailiff approached him, "do you swear to this court that you'll tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?" The balding man nodded, "I do." The bailiff nodded and walked off as the balding man sat into the witness's stand. Edgeworth approached the man, "Mr Callenway, you are a Video Analysis Expert for our law enforcement, is that correct?" Callenway nodded, "that is correct sir." Edgeworth gestured to the TV, "what can you tell me about this footage." "When it was accepted as evidence, it was damaged, although I did manage to save what few parts that you are looking at there." Edgeworth nodded, "yes my good sir. Now, would you say that the defendant is one of the assailants in the footage?" "Well, it's difficult to make out many details because of the damage, but being a video forensics expert, I can say that it is most likely him. In fact, when we ran our software on the footage, we managed to get an 89.9% match. Which was surprising." Edgeworth raised an eyebrow, "how accurate is this technology My Callenway?" "Oh, within a 99.97% accuracy typically." "Then why would that percentage be a surprise Mr Callenway?" Callenway scratched his head for a brief moment, "well you see, the footage was really crummy, uh, forgive my language. It's just that we got lucky with the footage we were able to recover." Edgeworth nodded, "very well Mr Callenway. Your Honor, I have presented my first piece of evidence." Edgeworth bowed to the judge before moving to take his seat, giving his opponent a undeservingly smug look.
  20. Khutan lifted the box carefully, checking the contents. "Next time you act stupid and try to blow us to kingdom come, give me a heads up." He rearranged what was in the box from where they had been jostled.
  21. Khutan yelped as he leaped towards the box with an unnatural speed, barely catching it before it hit the floor. "What are you, crazy?!"
