    Mustachio smiled to himself, stroking him mustache thoughtfully before gasping as if having a eureka moment. He then began to work hurriedly on his device.

    "I want to find a more secure location my lord. We don't know how many are out to kill you tonight, and I wanted to know if you could move during an attack." Caden bowed once more, "if that is all, I must hunt down the assassin my lord."

    Mustachio glared at Cilliss, "if you're so insistent on being the bully here, then fire away. Besides, it's not hard to tell that you're jealous." He whipped out a strangely shaped tool and began working on his handheld device.

    Caden nodded, "as you command, my master." Caden stood up, "are you well enough to move?"

    "I will have you know, my feelings were hurt. This is a beautiful mustache, and I won't have you insulting it." Mustachio waved her off, "if you're quite done being the insufferable bully, the evil guy over here has work that must be done."

    "Everyone is confined to the room that they were in until the lockdown is lifted, any violators will be imprisoned, killed if they resist. There are many breaches in the lockdown, because of this, I moved a regiment of my personal army into a parameter around the castle. We have a number of prisoners already my lord."

    The old man sat in silence, his eyes adopting a far off look as if remembering something, long ago. ---- "I have already begun accounting for every King's lady to see how many there are in the castle, I will adjust my orders. Unless you order otherwise, I will keep the castle on lockdown."

    Khutan looked surprised for a moment before shrugging, "well, I just need you to sign on this form." He produced a clipboard that held a piece of paper that seemed to be filled with utter nonsense.

    "Or, it could mean something worst." The old man shook his head, "I just don't know. Add that to the list of worries in this dungeon." ---- Caden nodded, "as you wish my Lord. About the prisoners, I have reason to suspect that that one in particular was involved in the court. I fear that they could be," Caden glanced at the guards surrounding him, "be involved with the King's lady we discussed earlier."

    The old man was silent for a moment more, "all of the Ravenness's victims are sent down into the dungeons until she comes for them." ----- "I have my men tracking a lead, but I had to make sure you were safe my King. As soon as I am done here, I will deal with this lead personally. We also have a few prisoners that I want to handler myself instead of handing them over to the Ravenness."

    The old man remained silent for a moment. His voice rattled when he spoke again, "do you know where they're keeping her?" ---- Caden finished giving the guardsmen the passcode and stepped into the room that they had placed the King. Upon seeing him awake, Caden went to a knee. "My lord, are you well?"

    The old man slunk down against the wall, his face a mixture of sorrow and frustration. He slammed him fist into the ground next to him, "why? Why do I even ask any more?"

    "You know, you're going straight to being mean again. Did I ask to be randomly transported into this cave by my malfunctioning device?" Mustachio considered it for a moment, "well, I can see how that might look bad, but I didn't do that on purpose or anything, just an accident. I meant to teleport myself to my nemesis in order to surprise her, but that has seemed to fail." He gave the machine another smack, but it remained inanimate.

    "I don't know kid," the old man bowed his head, closed his eyes, and shook his head with a single tear making its way down his face. he spoke under his breath, "curse that woman to oblivion. I can't help, it's out of my power. I . . . I . . ."

    Mustachio removed his finger, "you see? You're doing it again. I mean, I respect a good mysterious flashback, but the rest of those thoughts could have been explained through some sort of body language." Mustachio turned to Concerto, completely ignoring Cilliss's rage. "I mean, am I right Cat-person-guy? It's nothing personal, I'm just not supposed to be a mind reader, you know?"

    "She didn't to my girl, or so I hear. If she's with the Ravenness, then she's better off than us." The old man considered it a moment before letting out a sigh, "the again, it's been ages since I knew her."

    Anger quickly tied the old man's face into a knot before unravelling again, "the Ravenness won't hurt her, or I hope she won't."

    Mustachio stepped forward, placing a finger on her forehead. Mustachio spoke noises as if to silence her, "A bu bu bu! You take all of those thoughts," Mustachio gestured vaguely into the air, "and you keep them in there." He finished the sentence with a touch on Cilliss's forehead. "If you really want me to know what you're thinking, then express yourself through something stupid, like body language or something, I don't know. I mean, I can see the appeal of hearing your thoughts, but if everyone here did that, it would get annoying fast." Mustachio turned quickly to Concerto, "yes, it's a derogatory term in most contexts, including this one. Just be glad you're not an 'Anime Cat-Girl,' then you'd be insufferable."

    The old man simply sighed, bowing his head. "How old?"
  20. The Ward's Guard
    The ancient man looked annoyed behind his unruly facial hair, "I said I wanted to hear what was buggin' ya. Of course, if you don't wanna share . . ."

    The pile of rags groaned before shifting to reveal an ancient man, cursing strangely under his breath. "Why must I be this way?" The ancient man moved to Wendy, which took an agonizingly long time. "I meant to eavesdrop and I heard some of your problem, but would ya mind repeating it again?"

    A pile of rags shifted in the corner, and a raspy voice came from it. "Would you mind keeping it down?!"

    Mustachio pointed at this speaker, "first of all, hurtful. Second of all, mustaches are fashionable, as well as suits." "Besides," Mustachio continued, "I'm not the one with 'walking bones,' 'anime cat-guy,' and whatever the heck you're supposed to be Miss Bully. Imagine that, beating up on a guy for what he's wearing. I mean, there's evil, then there's just mean, and you sauntered straight into the mean area."

    "It would appear," Mustachio smacked the device again, "that my Transport-to-the-nearest-plot-device-Inator is malfunctioning. I mean, why else would I be uh, transported into a cave filled with, uh . . ." Mustachio placed a hand on his chin, "who are you guys? I was going to say 'pocket sized circus,' but that doesn't sound right."

    The mustached man jumped when he saw that he wasn't alone. "Wha-? Oh, I'm Mustachio."
