"Oh them. Well, it's complicated to say the least. Although, if I were to sum it up in a single sentence, then I'd say that my new boss thinks that I'm not getting as much as I should be from my contracts."

Surgery toppings, my favorite! Arthur wrinkled his nose, "I've never been a fan of hazelnut spreads. What was it that Ellis wanted to know?"

The colonel nodded at the salute, "until that day." Tulcam, the Cinder Colonel, made his way out of the prison complex back to the military base.

"That works for me!" Arthur began to gather his many surgery toppings for his waffle.

Tulcam raised an eyebrow at Cruz's use of his name, "I can't really argue with that. You're a complicated man Cruz, and if you somehow manage to get out of these charges, then I'd be more than happy to talk more. As for now, we'll have to see if you can make it through the gauntlet that's the Raodean Justice System."

The colonel sniffed, "be careful what you wish for. I've found that most of the time, you're only as good as your most powerful friend." Tulcam glanced around before leaning closer to the cell, lowering his voice, "I'd say that we both have complicated histories, so what might work for me, probably won't for you. Besides, your situation is by your own choice, mine is not."

The colonel thought about this answer, "sometimes that universe amazes me. You are an interesting guy Cruz, and I think we might be more similar than I'd like to admit most days."

The colonel nodded and returned to his parade rest, he didn't speak for a moment. "What is it that the law took from you?"

"Let's just say that I've had my own set of trouble, similar to your own. I had something taken from me unjustly, and I reacted pretty much the same way you acted in order to get yourself here." The colonel leaned in, "I just wanted to know what brought you to where you are now, what brought you to this cell, to this trial, instead of running away from everyone who wanted to see you brought to their form of justice."

Tulcam nodded, although he didn't look as if he fully understood. "Do you- Well, I doubt you know what the men have taken to calling me. I know they are, they just won't say it to my face." Conflict entered Tulcam's face as he looked around for where the guards were, apparently satisfied, he continued, "Many call me the Cinder Colonel, or simply Colonel Cinder, do you know why?"

The colonel looked as if he were having a hard time forming the words, "how- no, why did you do it? Turn yourself in?"

"If I had your weapons, why on earth would I bring them to you?" The colonel shook his head, "never mind. I just . . . I wanted to know something about you."

The colonel perked up, looking surprised that Cruz was awake. "Oh, this might seem a bit suspicious, doesn't it?"

Just as Rotcennoc had opened his eyes, a voice spoke through speakers located in corners of the ceiling. The voice sounded well articulated and fairly nasally when it spoke. "Entity 1-5-6-1, during your capture in the field it was reported that you understood and spoke english, is this true?"

Arthur raised an eyebrow, "now that's an ambitious claim if I've ever heard one. You got waffles with Strawberry syrup and whipped topping?"

"Breakfast? Sure, what do you have?"

Arthur stepped out of the bushes brushing off his clothes, "well, what was it that I missed?"

Pior muttered under his breath as he kept working on his weapon, "that was quick."

As Olivier walked, he placed a hand on his forehead. "Let's see, he said to go two blocks this way, then was it take a left or a right?"

Yep, I figured that I wasn't the only guy wishing that this would happen, but not having the skill, expertise, or resources for it. It just seems like far to good of an idea for me to have just now. Oh @Bearer of all agonies, I believe that in total, you would be scared three quarters of the way to death. My reasoning is that if you start out 100 scared points from death, then get scared half of that you'll be at 50 scared points to death. Then if you're scared half to death again, you'll wind up at half of 50, which is 25 scared points to death. If this makes any sense, then you're welcome, if this makes no sense, then you are also welcome.

Colonel Tulcam stood just outside of Cruz's cell in a parade rest, although his head was bowed with his eyes closed. He didn't seem to notice Cruz stirring.
