  1. Fox actually smiled when Nath wiped away her tears, but her guilt returned when he mentioned the trouble she had gotten herself into. She was always getting herself into trouble. Then, when Fox's demons were brought up, she glanced at Circe, thinking of all Circe had done for her. "I... I don't think this one's a demon--" Fox stopped abruptly, the images of Winter and the jeweled knife plunging into her skin rushing through her brain once more. A look of anger flashed across her face for a mere moment, but then it was gone. Fox would not let this new memory ruin this moment, she would push it to the back of her mind. But as she opened her mouth to speak more, nothing came out. Fox glanced downward and away from Nath as the memories slipped back into her mind like eels in a fishing net.
  2. This is a really fascinating answer that I haven't encountered, although I'm not super clear on the specifics of what y'all are saying, could I get a little bit of elaboration?
  3. Fox looked up as she saw Nath approaching, "Nath, you're awake!" She called out, pulling her hand away from Herial and running toward him. She skidded to a stop right in front of Nath, suddenly worried that a hug might hurt him. Fox felt tears pouring down her cheeks, and she tried to wipe them away, but they just kept coming.
  4. So you admit that some things are true?
  5. How do we verify the truth claim that 'there is no objective truth beyond subjective reality'? I think I finally realize what you meant when you said I was operating on circular reasoning (after thirteen hours of deliberation). I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I was just pointing out that a subjective truth claim cannot exist without admitting that there is some form of objective truth. For example, in the post I quoted from you above, you made quite a few statements which you think are subjective to you, yet you also think they affect the rest of the world... therefore, you believe in absolute truth. Here are your suggested truth claims: 1. Scarletfox is operating on circular reasoning 2. Circular reasoning is bad (inferred) 3. The Truth does not exist 4. We all live in diverging realities which are informed by our choices 5. Everyone determines the truth of their own reality (inferred) Here's the problem, at the end you said that you were pulling me into your reality to show me that this is what is true for you, but if you had to pull me into your reality, would it not be true for me as well? You've placed rules and boundaries onto how subjective truth works, therefore, you have made it objective. The subjective truth claim depends on and needs the idea that there is some truth. Therefore any statement that claims that truth does not exist, is a statement that claims to be true itself, therefore showing that there is truth! One cannot say that 'truth is subjective' because they are saying that the claim (truth is subjective) is true!
  6. If I like soup, it is absolutely true for everyone that I like soup. Whether or not you like soup does not change the fact that I like soup. This is not different for the person next to me- they may or may not like soup, but that does not change the objective truth that I like soup. Tomorrow, I may not like soup. That day, it would be true that I do not like soup. It would be true for everyone equally that Scarletfox does not like soup on that day (specifically). Whatever you believe will not change the truth of whether or not I like soup. Each person does not have their own truth when it comes to tasting things, each person has a different experience, but each experience happens, and each experience can be true for a person. Jane thought the soup tasted like dirty socks, Jill thought the soup tasted like candy. What they think is objective, it is not subjective to the person. It is true that they thought those things, but it is not true that soup tastes like socks to everyone. I may think the soup tastes like potatoes, that does mean I have my own truth regarding soup, it means my tastes buds had a slightly different experience than Jane's or Jill's. I somewhat agree on the faith part... I could be able to prove there is a God beyond a reasonable doubt, but no matter what you believe, there will be an ounce of doubt. Putting aside my own testimony and emotional experience with religion, I have found there to be more doubt and less evidential proof within atheism than there is theism. Aight, I have school, bye y'all
  7. Thank you thank you thank you! I could kiss you back! I have reasonable support that there is a God... The discussion of the existence of God shouldn’t be shied away from unless there’s anyone here who is sensitive to that kind of thing. God and truth are pretty closely intertwined. Actually mine would be religious as well, I was just pointing out that religious answers don’t need to be specified as ‘religious’ if they’re just as true as the fact that my hair is red. (Sorry I realize it came off as something it wasn’t) @Scout_Fox For that comment on Hesselr, he came to a conclusion that reasoning could not be trusted. If he used logic and reasoning to conclude that, how can we trust what he said? The biggest problem with the subjective truth claim is that it relies on the idea of absolute truth to exist, we wouldn’t be arguing if truth were subjective or not if absolute truth didn’t exist, it’s something engrained to the human nature. The existence of truth is something we’re born knowing, just as we’re born knowing it’s bad to kill. Scoutfox (I think it was you, sorry I’m on my phone so it’s really hard to navigate) you said that morality is also subjective to society. My question would be this: in Nazi Germany, their society said it was ok to murder the Jews, does that make it ok?
  8. What you’ve done, is create an idea governed by rules of ‘truth’ just as much as (you think) I have. A reality governed by truth in which we all have our own realities. How is that not truth? by saying the statement “we all live in diverging realities” is assuming truth of itself I can give an answer that I can reasonably support
  9. What do you mean by this?
  10. Is this true? Is it true that truth isn’t real?
  11. Please elaborate, you don’t care about what?
  12. Has it been? That very statement “this isn’t for us to say, but for you to find out” is assuming objective truth in itself, is it not? So what we say/think determines truth? How do we know that’s true?
  13. So this idea, that we should all find our own truths, is a truth that I should follow by following my own truth?
  14. So would the statement, "truth is subjective" be true? Is this the truth?
  15. To be clear, you're saying that truth is subjective?
  16. Fox tried to look at something else, and keep her attention off her vulnerability, but looked back at... Herial when she asked a question. "Um.. would you believe me if I said no?" Fox tested.
  17. Don't you know that procrastinating brings no real joy? It's just a lie we tell ourselves. Yeet. I promise I'm normally more responsible, I'm just being stubborn today. Ok. I'm going to go... do all that stuff now
  18. Rage rolled through Fox. No, she had done something bad, she should be punished, why wasn't she being punished? "But..." inside, Fox sighed. These people had... strange ways, "Yes, you may" Fox could feel herself becoming more and more tense, she hated this part the most.
  19. Hello friends, I should probably be studying for a History test right now. Or preparing for the speech I have to give to the entire seventh grade tomorrow. Or studying for the college midterm I have this weekend. Or studying for my Spanish test tomorrow. Or studying for a college quiz I have tomorrow. Or making my lunch for tomorrow. Or getting the king sized air mattress out of my room. Or feeding my fish. Or writing a Chemistry paper. Or researching on the new migration pact presented by the EU for my debate partner who's confused. Or doing any of my homework. Or I could just be here instead.
  20. Fox inhaled. This would not be fun. "Okay," she responded softly. Fox removed herself from embrace, and although she still wanted time to think, and things were still a bit blurry, it would seem that her conversation with Circe had brought her a bit more clarity and focus. Fox sighed quietly and looked over at the two figures. She somehow managed to push some words out of her mouth, "I-I'm sorry." Fox focused on the blood dribbling from one of the girl's neck. Storms. Fox had almost killed this girl. She gulped as the weight of the guilt slammed into her once more. Again, Fox had moved out of instinct and hatred instead of using her fricking brain. A tear popped out of her right eye and slowly made its way down Fox's cheek. These people had no reason to forgive her, they hardly knew her. "I accept whatever punishment you deem necessary," Fox spoke steadily in contrast to her earlier stammering. Punishment she could deal with, Fox wiped the tear off her face. @Mist @Condensation
  21. I discovered that you can buy bookmarks in bulk. It is the most amazing thing ever, because I'm constantly losing my bookmarks. Normally I end up using a three by five card or a napkin or any other scrap of paper that happens to be lying around because all of my bookmarks just disappear, but now that I have about a hundred of them, perhaps they'll last something like two weeks rather than two days!
  22. "What solution do you propose, Tria?"
  23. I've done blueberries, but I've never tried those other things... I shall have to introduce them to my family I like waffles, but for these even more so than pancakes, they have to be cooked! My siblings always take them out early so they're still all doughy, and it drives me up the wall! But when their done correctly, waffles are alright, though I like pancakes better.
  24. Fox inhaled a breathe of peace at the words. Her entire everything resisted this, except for one little part deep down... which felt that it was exactly right. "ok." Fox responded softly. "I believe you."
