  8. Hello, friend! Welcome to the Shard!
  9. When you get hungry and you immediately worry you just became an Elantrian
  10. Spren of Kindness mentioned the Lunar Chronicles, and I would agree that you should give them a try, they're some of my favorites. Another series by that author that's really good is Renegades. Especially if you liked the Reckoners you should read Renegades. The Renegades trilogy was the book that restored my hope in humanity's authors, as I had just had a good two year book drought, and had just about given up on finding good authors. I sped through the books in under a week, they were so good. When my sister saw I was reading Renegades, she gave me Steelheart, and I've been a Sanderson fan ever since.

  13. Hello, friends! I am watching 'The Library' episode of Avatar: the Last Airbender, and I just realized how similar the sandbenders are to sand masters. What do y'all think?
  14. My summer literally equals reading. edit: oh and 17th Shard
  15. I just recently beat the ender dragon on the family realm (all of my siblings are adults, but yes we have a family realm) with ease. Then I when looking for elytra, and, naturally, immediately undershot an enderpearl jump, fell into the void, and lost all of my netherite armor and tools. I learned a valuable lesson that day: never bring netherite into the end.
  16. Hello, friends! I, too, happen to be a girl. So true, though!! They really need to make pockets a more normal thing in girls clothes in general. When my brothers and I smuggle food into theaters, the only way I could ever keep up with amount of food they fit in their pockets is to pretend I'm pregnant, which is not happening. (side note: Thanks for the tip, @Spren of Kindness, I hid the first post and am hoping that worked)
  17. Hello, friends! I was just analyzing the story arc of the original Mistborn trilogy in my mind while cleaning the other day, and was especially focusing on the literary protagonist of the story. I initially thought it was Kelsier back when I was reading book one, but then (spoiler alert) he died. Of course it seemed like it was either Vin or Elend for the next two books until, (spoiler alert again) they both died, too. The obvious answer is Sazed, but what does he want? And who would be the antagonist? Perhaps Sazed wants to understand the world's mysteries, and he gets in the way of himself... ? This would mean that he is both the protagonist and the antagonist, which is certainly possible and used in literature on occasion. It is hard to narrow down exactly what Sazed wants, because for the majority of the time prior to him taking the power, he himself doesn't even know. He could want to feel fulfilled, like he has a purpose and is contributing something worthwhile to society. When he realizes that he is the Hero of the Ages, he realizes that he now has a meaningful purpose. Although I had already eliminated Vin in my mind because she died, I realized that she very well could be the protagonist, with another man vs. self type conflict. I would argue that her desire was to feel loved, but her instincts against trust prevented that. She eventually comes to terms with the fact that Elend loves her, which would be the climax of the story. I'm sure the climax could be narrowed down a scene or a couple chapters, however I've only read Mistborn once so far (and I read that last book in about two days) so I'm not confident in my ability to pinpoint the moment. Then again, it could be Spook. Spook may have similar desires as Sazed, a place to fit in. I would guess that himself, or even the world gets in the way of that. Things that were out of his control prevented him from ever feeling he was a part of Kelsier's crew, however, when Sazed makes him Mistborn everything changes. (on the other side) Could it be that it was his own insecurity that kept him from fitting in to Kelsier's crew? Perhaps when Harmony made him Mistborn, it boosted his self-esteem. I've also considered Elend, Breeze, and even Tensoon. Currently my thoughts are a bit of a scattered mess, so if I just completely confused y'all, I apologize. I'd love see y'all's thoughts on the matter! (Oh, and, please try not to spoil anything from Era 2 Mistborn for me, I only just started The Alloy of Law )
  18. Thanks, DramaQueen and Karger! That clears things up!
  19. Hello, friends! I am fairly new to 17th Shard, and am wondering about Reputation Titles. Is there a list of reputation titles somewhere and what needs to be done to get them? I'm simply curious. Also, can someone tell me how signatures work? Thanks for the help, guys, I hope to able to navigate with ease soon!
  20. I just took the Knights Radiant Quiz and got 70% Willshaper and 67% Windrunner!
  21. Hey, Adran Oathbreaker! I haven't yet taken the Quiz, where would I find that? Edit: I just found it on Sanderson's website and am taking it now Storms, favorite magic system... I think I'd have to say Mistborn, but barely. I really like all of Sanderson's magic systems because of their originality. He never goes with the expected cliches. What's your favorite?
  22. Nice to meet you too, AonEne! My favorite is Mistborn right now, but the Stormlight Archive is becoming decent competition. What's your favorite?
  23. Hello, friends! My username is Scarletfox, but you can call me Scarlet, red, or fox if you prefer. I have always felt a camaraderie with foxes, and aspire to be like them, sly and devious. Well, maybe not too devious. I have bright red hair so people have always called me fox (and Wendy but that's beside the point). My older sister introduced me to Brandon Sanderson through Steelheart. I just about died waiting for Calamity to come off hold from the library, and ever since, I have been trying to read all of Sanderson's books, especially his Cosmere books. I have read all of the First-Era Mistborn books, and am about to start the Second-Era. I have read the first two Stormlight Archive books, but am waiting to read the third for my sister to catch up (we're reading them together). I have read the first two Skyward books, and am in the middle of White Sand and Elantris right now. I'm always been shocked and overjoyed when I meet other Sanderson fans in real life, never knowing there was a collection of them right here. I look forward to participating in this community!
