  1. Just read this thread. That was amazing! I hope that there's no rule against upvoting old threads... But, just wanted to ask a question related to that: why don't you do Wayne stick figures in your lessons? I mean, I guess that it's probably because this'll be overly weird, but still.
  2. Nope! I was in a completely different youth (organization? Movement? Whatever). One you wouldn't know, since it's for Jews and active only in Israel. TPBM finds their ancestry interesting.
  3. I don't have one! You should all convert to Judaism, because our holidays are great! Joking aside, I really don't have a least favorite holiday. They're all great in their own unique way. Also, you wouldn't know a thing about most of our holidays. Anyway, Pesach is coming, and this is a great holiday in and of itself, but... Oh, the preparations. The part I'd rather not talk about. Interesting choice. Now I'm starting to feel excited to Brandon's books being made into video games. My experience with video games is mostly pokemon, which isn't really that versatile IMO, but we'll see. What's your favorite ethnic group and why?
  4. None. I don't have favorites in that area, since I don't really know many Sharders like that. I'm sorry, but I didn't interact with you enough to just give the obvious answer. Though your username is interesting - I didn't read all of WoT, but I know what Ta'veren means. There is some interesting resemblance between Radiants and Channelers - the first signs for both are extremely good luck. My answer may change with time, or if you change the "have Kaladin in their name" to "have a strong connection to the name Kaladin" (in the latter case, it'd probably be Tesh. I interacted with her quite a lot, and she owns a budgie named Kaladin). Cats. I have somewhat of a phobia of dogs - not a really strong one, but it's there. One of the reasons us that when I was a little boy, I was chased by wild dogs near my house. They scare me. I was rarely ever attacked by cats - they are far less territorial than dogs in that respect - and they're usually cute. Well, kind of. Which mod is the most approachable? I rarely ever (read: never) approach mods, at least in relation to them being mods. I never had the opportunity to, or the need to. Anyway, if I needed I'd probably go for Ene. When I lurked here I saw her activity before she became a mod, and she stroke me as a very nice person. Everything I saw from her since just reinforced it. I don't really get the people who found her intimidating, really. Favourite color... Hmm... A hard question, that. Lately it seems to be violet or purple, because I see this colour as magical, somehow. There are some areas of my life that for me, give off an aura of purple/violet for some reason. Mostly things related to mystery and things like that. I find that fascinating. The mystery, the wonder in the world, unending depths... That's the feeling this color gives me, and that is why I like it. Preferred web browser? Chrome. This is the one I use now, and they'll block me if I say otherwise. Joking aside, I usually use Chrome, because it's comfortable, works well, and because of the dinosaur game. I'm relatively good at it, I think - my highest score is around 4800. I sometimes use Firefox, and never use explorer or any Microsoft-related browser - they're the devil's company (something I picked from my father). I don't use those because I rarely use Windows, and because I remember that explorer had a reputation for being slow. British spelling? American spelling? I can never really remember which is which. I spell things the way I remember as the right spelling, and correct if it seems wrong. I'm probably using a weird mixture of both. The reason, obviously, is that I don't remember which is which usually, and the reason to that is... Umm... Probably that I don't really care that much. I care about spelling correctly, but not about spelling correctly according to some specific kind of spelling. As long as the spelling is right somewhere, I'm fine with it, thank you. Which Sharders I most enjoy interacting with? A hard question, and a somewhat dangerous one. This, along with your second question and Ta'veren's question, asks me to compare people to each other and choose s favorite. Such things usually lead to envy (not that anyone would care about my opinions, I'm just speaking generally), and in a way, I might hurt you if I don't include you. I don't regret my answer to Ta'veren - when you rig your question, you deserve such an answer. I'm not sure about my answer to your second question. There are many mods, and I actually read posts of only a handful of them. Still, the question was about approachableness for me, so the answer stands. No one will care much. Part of the reason I dragged of that speech is because I'm not sure that I have an answer, so going on about how the question isn't fair is far easier than trying to answer. Also, I ignored the fact that all your questions were about favorites and comparisons. Anyway, to actually answer your question: A. Knight of Iron, JesterLavorre and Tesh (and Salad too, I guess). It was very fun to work with them on world building the LGFaD world, really. Knight was our Realmatic theorist, Jester and I invented a weird Realm of ideas that Knight couldn't quite get, and Tesh and Salad worked in the dragon department. Because DRAGONS. Also, Salad was our unofficial meme maker, and I'm honored by that fact. B. Channel knight Fadran, Condensation, Random Bystander, Kingsdaughter... In short, the people I RPd with. Most of them, if not all, are amazing people, and I'm sad that we didn't get to continue any of the RPs. I'm only on relatively dead RPs, nowadays. Also, the people who were in my crew. Thank you for bothering to join. (Many are in both this group and the previous one already, but some, like Counselor and Bearer, aren't. They're nice people, too.) C. Ixthos, Nathrang, and others I got to discuss religion with. I guess you, Robin, can enter this group too. It's interesting to do so. Silva is kind if in this group, too, but she belongs more to the next one, probably, which is: D. Discord! People I mostly interacted with through Discord, including Truthshaper, Fritz (partly... Not much interaction), Silva, and many more. Really, it was a pleasure. Also, I guess there are a lot more I enjoyed interacting with that I forgot to write. Chances are they belong to one if those four groups, but those who aren't also exist. Can't say I have any one specific favorite. So there's your answer, I guess. Thank you for reading, and have a good day/night/other! Also, yep. This post is long enough to get the standard signature. Oh dear.
  5. So, at first I didn't want to make one of those, among other things because: a. Asking questions seemed to be something I'm good at, but I'm not sure about answering them, and b. The FAQs of AMAs seemed too generic to me, and I doubt I'd get any other questions; I'm not the most active or well-known sharder, to say the least. Most of my threads die pretty quickly. Now, I wasn't sure what exactly I had against the "generic" questions, as I dubbed them. I still don't completely know, but I think that part of the reason is that those question don't do what I assumed they were meant to do: they didn't initiate discussions. And then I thought, what will initiate discussion? And, as I wrote in the Ask ANYONE Anything thread, I think that "why" questions do that far better. So, ask away. even if you won't ask why, I will try my best to tell you why anyway. You may begin.
  6. That exact question, that exact question, for the sake of recursion! Otherwise... I don't know. Something interesting. More interactive than the usual AMA starters, like "what's your most/least favorite book/character, Sanderson or otherwise?". Seriously, I think I covered in that one sentence the most asked questions in intros and AMAs. Yes, I get it. You want to talk about books, this is s good conversation starter. And we are, after all, all fans of the same author. Since this is the basic attribute we all share, this is a logical point to start from. Thing is, when people ask me that it doesn't work as a conversation starter. Maybe if you add a "why" clause. And maybe you should. Maybe the question I most want to be asked is a why question about my opinions, things I write, et cetera. And if so, I don't really know which. So ask away, and I'll answer. Maybe now, after thinking of it, I'll actually open an AMA thread. What is your favorite platform of storytelling (written books, audiobooks, graphic audio, movies, etc.)? Why is that?
  7. Technically, so's the one for doing it with one guess. Does that mean you did it in two guesses once? Impressive.
  8. Oh. What's the quote for one guess?
  9. I'm not completely sure. I believe she mentioned to Ulim that there was another "specialist" like her around the palace that turned Gavilar against her. I assumed (perhaps wrongfully) that she meant another Feruchemist, which will mean that there is a Feruchemist not working for Kelsier either way.
  10. Nope. My religion prohibits tattoos. Really, go check in Deuteronomy (I think) if you want. TPBM wrote a long essay that they were happy about at the time, but now look back at it with suspicion.
  11. Is it your first Pesach not being religious anymore? Or is it a general statement that, since you're not religious anymore, you have no plans for Pesach? Sorry. My first instinct was to ask questions, for some reason. Somewhat fitting, in a way. Also, I just bought new books for Pesach! Haggados with commentary by Rav Adin Even-Yisrael (Steinsaltz) and Rabbi Jonathan Sacks, in addition to a book about Pesach.
  12. Not at school anymore, so technically I'm one of those people! Hardly, really. I'm really bad at keeping contact with people. I admit that I have a peculiar tendency to use words from a somewhat different register than people usually do, but in this particular case I was merely consulting the translation function of Google. Or, simply put, yeah, I sometimes use big words, sorry. Though on this case, it was more due to me wanting to cover all options - university etc. Should've just write college... Who said that an object's beauty is measured by how well it serves its purpose?
  13. Well, technically I already can. Though maybe I should go for a language I don't know, so... Hmm... I can think of a handful. I tried to learn Greek and Welsh once. Latin could be interesting. I'd like to learn to read Chinese, and French is a language I probably should know - it's my grandparents native language, and they speak it all the time with my father. Spanish might be a good idea too, and perhaps Esperanto. It appears that I have a list, and yet, instead of learning them I write posts here. Bother that. That Is an interesting question, which I'd kind of like to answer, with one problem: I'm not sure that I ever had a crush. You see, I was at a boys-only school for all 12 years of my formal education, and then two more in other male-only systems. In short, my interaction with girls was limited to mostly family. As an avid book reader that gets annoyed at characters for acting stupidly quite often, I'd have liked to think that I'd go for a logical approach and just do it. Knowing myself, though, I'd be too embarrassed to actually do it, so I might imagine what I'll say and never actually do it, or do it via writing. Might be a bit easier that way. I may or may not have told a white lie in the previous paragraph. I may be overthinking things too. Sorry. What subject would you like to learn during your teriary education?
  14. Yeah, I did too. But I think it's only about getting used to it. It took to me time to succeed in Wordle too.
  15. Made it, too. Six guesses. Oh well.
  16. Not really. I do it occasionally, though. They're mostly me rambling about random topics. TPBM is mildly interested in linguistics.
  17. Heh. I made the mistake of guessing 50mil., though, so I'm not sure how I should feel about that. But that probably means I was one of the closest to the actual result, so yay!
  18. A kickstarter-ending Livestream, great! If only I didn't have to sleep by the time it started. Funny thing, it's exactly midnight here when it starts. And I'm currently at the IDF, so when I get up in the morning isn't my choice. Bother. Also, Thaidakar, it seems that the online shop is just for people like you. Hopefully it'll help.
  19. No reason. I read it though. In my opinion, it's well written. Unless it's another story? I daren't hope.
  20. Storm it. I wanted to do it first. But yeah, that's great!
  21. Some people can't afford even forty dollars. Said people don't include me. I can't afford 300 dollars, no matter how much I may want physical copies.
  22. Most definitely. I hardly know how I have that much rep. TPBM has read some version of the legend of king Arthur.
  23. Funny story... I'm a rambler. You can see that from my posts. My brother introduced me to Sanderson's books, and I immediately started talking to him about them. A lot. He offered me to go ramble on the Shard, and when Quarantine started here I was bored enough to actually do that. And I think that I didn't write here anything that I tried talking to him about, but there are a few things that I'd have told him if I couldn't write them here. So I guess it worked out. Did you read Thief of Time by Terry Pratchett? If so, do you realize what I thought when I first saw the post above me?
  24. Wouldn't help the Stormfather unless the Highstorm happened to pass over Shinovar at the moment. And even if so, he wouldn't be able to be completely sure.
  25. Yeah, I kind of expected that too. The irony... I'm kind of in favor of the StormFaker theory, since the Stormfather does act weirdly, but on the other hand, it's unlikely to be the case. And of course, I'm curious about the Herald dying. Was it a final death, like Jezrien? Or just moving to Braise?
