  1. Let's face it, Queen: you're biased in favor of Fadran. And it makes sense! He is a great guy, and I see no reason to oppose him. Plus, all this talk of revolution reminded me of something funny I read once: in a book my great-grandfather wrote about a Jewish boy in the USSR, people were accused of being "counter-revolution". I find it funny because... They're in control for thirty years, and still consider themselves to be a revolution. They're not the rightful rulers, and never will be.
  2. The inverse of the question game? Or of old time-ey words?
  3. Trueman's Show. Perhaps so called for him being the only true man around (everyone else being actors). There are so many and I can't think of one. Sorry. What is your favorite story you never wrote?
  4. Ben breathed deeply, trying to reorient himself, and nodded. Why not? He thought. It's a nice introduction game.
  5. I have! Great series. TPBM read the Chronicles of Ancient Darkness.
  6. Trutharchivist gulped. "I'll... Take that under advisement." He breathed deeply and jumped through the portal, taking as much air with him as he could.
  7. "I'm not sure," said Ben hesitantly. "But I'll keep my eye out."
  8. Nope! Finished three years ago. Sadly, there isn't much to expand on that - I'm 21, 12 school years are obligatory in most western countries, and they usually end by the time you're 18. Since then, I've been to a Yeshivah and to the IDF, in which I currently am. A Yeshivah, in the likely case you didn't know, is an institute of Jewish religious learning, mostly of Talmud. Do you have plans for what to do with your life?
  9. "Well, I wouldn't know," said Ben, "as I still didn't start learning it. You're a freshman too, right? From what I heard, side effects can be weird dreams, and you get weaker while reanimating corpses, since you send a part of your soul to another realm. In theory, contacting long dead people is a possibility, which I find intriguing."
  10. "Hmm... It's one pair of lungs for each person? We probably need to check how many people need it... And how many creatures like that did you get hold of?"
  11. Being terrified by a SciFi book series I read when I was ten. I also have no band memories, except for the memories from my brother's band who played in my Bar Mitzvah. I don't really have bad memories from any band. I guess I should be glad for that, but I have bad memories of other things. Sorry, BTW. I already wrote my post, and then you posted... What do you fear the most?
  12. Be extremely distressed, as I'm being attacked by a killer genie and need something quick. You are aware that TPBM is the person below me, right? Because I don't see how you'd go about doing that with either the thread or yourself. WWYDIYF a sun IYP?
  13. Ask him for more pockets! But seriously, which kind of genie? A three wish one, a one wish one, a servitude for as long as you have a certain item one, or a "I'll kill you right now!" one? If the first, I will consider my wishes very carefully. If the second... Even more so. If the third, I'll think of what I need of it - probably something IDF related. If the latter... Beg for mercy, and search my pocket for something that could help. If it's something else entirely, I'll try to act accordingly. WWYDIYF TPBN IYP? (Mwahahahaha, acronyms! Also, what would you need to find in your pocket in case of killer genie attack?)
  14. Either Feruchemy or Forgery. Feruchemy has amazing powers, like memory and speed of thought, and has great potential. Forgery is fascinating, I think. Planning and rewriting history. Do you know what Linux is?
  15. Ben frowned. "That's... That's not what I said..." Then he sighed. "Y'know what? Nevermind." He mumbled under his breath, though he kept listening to the conversation.
  16. Chag Sameach! You know what, I'll edit the topic now. Plus, I made some cheese cakes with my sister's help, and she insists I'd post pictures. Edit: here's my prototype cake: And here's the cake I made after a lesson in Culinary Engineering from @Michborn: As you can clearly see, the lesson paid off! Though she didn't give me a lesson in taking pictures.
  17. "Well, we often see the past as dead, long gone. But when I look at it... I want to bring it back to life. I want to see the dead past merge with the living present. And the souls of the dead can help me learn more about it, return to the old ways." Knowing Rabbitsons, Ben tried not to talk for too long; they get distracted easily, he heard.
  18. Ben turned towards her. "Umm... That's one way to put it, I guess." He said. "What's your name?"
  19. Mine is pretty obvious. I got Truthwatcher in the Radiant order test, and chose the power of an Archivist (feruchemical copper) because... Memory! I have a relatively good memory, and it's important to me. Since I didn't really have much internet life before joining the Shard, so I take that name with me to other places where people will never have any idea as to why I chose it. No better than my sister, who uses a combination of her two favorite characters as username in many places. In Hebrew speaking places I usually use another name - Galard, a name of a character of mine, because this one doesn't translate well.
  20. "Nice to meet you, Anmil! I'm Ben Ze'evy, and I learn in the Necromancy track."
  21. Hey, did I introduce you to John? Oh, it's the helmacrons again.
  22. Set it free, probably. Though I'd probably have to go to China for that, and... You know what? Keep it as a pet! Why not elixir of life? You could give it to some other people too, if you're scared of the loneliness in immortality. WWYDIYF a blinking spanreeds gem (with spanreeds attached, plus ink) IYP?
  23. Well? What did you see in the zoo? Well, time isn't necessarily linear.
  24. Huh. That was weird. The newcomers were quiet. Ben turned to them. "So... What are your names? And in which track do you study?"
  25. "As a matter of fact, many Owlsons made the effort to become diurnal-" Ben stopped mid sentence. "Umm... Yeah, sure, I don't see why not." One of the newcomers, he saw, already sat. It was an elf, and he seemed... No, she seemed... Well, it was hard to judge the gender. The other newcomer was clearly a Rabbitson. And clearly a female. Ben sighed inwardly. Oh dear, this is going to be a rollercoaster.
