  1. No, I had to put the bag together. It was a leatherworking kit, so I stamped and stained the pieces, then put them together to make the bag. It's a very good size to hold just about everything I need for a day.
  2. I was given a messenger bag kit that has already proven very useful, I'm really enjoying using that.
  3. Yes, I do. I like the smell after it rains and the sound of rain on the roof and running around in the rain with my hair down... all of it. What is your favorite bead shape?
  4. Dune part two for me, and Oppenheimer. Oppenheimer looks really good.
  5. I absolutely agree on this. Living on a Prayer is such a good song for 2 am. Something about the delivery of those lines, and the word choice... I'll go ahead and add Don't Stop Believing by Journey, because if I'm up at 2 in the morning, that would probably be what I was listening to.
  6. My suggestion would be to start with small things, like the work for the class you're in, or what other classes you have. Then that can branch out really easily into other get-to-know you topics, like jobs, what parts of the classes are difficult or easy, how you spend free time, and so on. I'm definitely in a different phase of life though, so take that with a grain of salt.
  7. In what many might consider to be a rather disconcerting fashion, a young man ambles out of one of the walls. He doesn't seem to notice where he is at first, studying a book in his hands. The shape of his knapsack and the rolls of paper sticking out of it seem to suggest that most of the sack is full of more books and maps. He looks up, blinking. "Oh. Well, this is new," he says softly, closing his book with one finger to hold his place.
  8. I have not. Do you have a favorite map?
  9. I would not, I can barely afford to power my car. TPBM likes to dance.
  10. That would be correct. TPBM broke their earbuds recently.
  11. I watched Argo with my parents for the first time. It was pretty good, I enjoyed it. My dad has good taste in what movies we have on DVD, so that helps.
  12. I like the food I like. But not spicy things. I'm weak. TPBM needs curtains.
  13. Apples all the way. Do you like terrariums?
  14. Not really, I'm a wimp. I also have really skewed perceptions of how genres work, so maybe I do and I just don't know it. What's the smallest bird you've ever seen?
  15. Finally finished Winter's Heart, and now I'm moving on to miscellaneous items such as Shakespeare's Julius Cesar, Murderbot Diaries: Artificial Condition, and a book about castles.
  16. Nope. Have you reorganized a shelf recently?
  17. I'm not sure, I don't watch a ton of either. Probably movies. TPBM wants a houseplant.
  18. Lord of the Rings. What's the largest amount of snow you've ever seen?
  19. Not right now, but I was really cold last night, because temperatures were in the single digits. TPBM has a crown or tiara.
  20. It frustrates me so much when I figure out exactly how all my problems connect and the vocabulary to explain not only the problems, but how they connect, and then that moment of understanding fades and I'm back at square one.

Maybe I need a string board.  Cause that would definitely not cause some people to question the validity of my statements that 'actually, I'm doing pretty good right now', y'know?

Anyway, I'm really glad that it's almost Christmas and that therefore, Christmas Eve candelight service is tomorrow, and that may actually be my favorite part of the holiday.

Not having school is also really nice though, I need recovery time.  I mean, I like learning, but this environment is not my favorite way to do it.

We love you, Spren. Sending happies your way!

  21. Recently read Scythe by Neil Schusterman. I liked it more than Unwind, mostly because my brain doesn't want to record scratch and skip over anything in Scythe. I also started the Murderbot Diaries, and quite enjoyed the first one. Next up is Winter's Heart, and next week I'll start my annual LOTR Christmas reread.
  22. No, but very close by. TPBM has letters to write.
  23. None, on this device anyway. Do you have a favorite Christmas song?
  24. No, I can't say I've done that. TPBM is reading Shakespeare.
  25. The third volume of the soundtrack is supposed to come out tomorrow! I'm excited to see what will be on there.
