  1. "I won't," he answers, then slips the bracelet into his pocket, making sure their tails would have seen it. "Go into the next alley down from where I turn." His hands are shaking.
  2. "Ayia, give me something that looks like it has valuables," Martin murmurs, rolling his walk into something with a limp that will show only if someone is close enough for him to make sure they have problems.
  3. Martin pauses to look in a shop window, eyeing the street behind them surreptitiously. "Couple tails. We could try to lose 'em, or find an alley somewhere."
  4. I don't need to buy these, I already have the Stormlight deck... But gosh, those are pretty.
  5. Foundation on Apple TV Plus. I'm liking a lot of how they're expanding the world, the visuals are gorgeous, the hair, costumes, and music are all good. Not as much a fan of some of the early character and plot work, but it's only been two episodes, so it might get better.
  6. LadyLameness: 'he's the angsty sad boi with a tragic backstory... therefore I love him.' (paraphrased slightly.) No need to call me out like that.
  7. Anybody watching Foundation?

No, but I read the book recently and I would highly recommend

My mom dad, and myself all read or reread the book this month while waiting for the show's release.  It's much better now then it was when I was younger.

  8. ...I may be your grandmother. Kidding. But I don't recommend the ones after the first book.
  9. Finished My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry. Excellent writing.
  10. So.  There's a lot going on for me IRL right now, and I'm freakin' emotionally exhausted.  I'm gonna take a break.  See y'all in a week or so.

And I'll get around to FOTT -2767 when I get back.  Hopefully.

Aw. Love you, Sprennie! Hope you get better!

  11. Well, I finished the Wheel of Time. So I'm processing that. I also have started My Grandmother Asked Me To Tell You She's Sorry, by Fredrick Backman. It's... interesting.
  12. I finished.

I finished the Wheel of Time.

    What now?

Read the entire series again. Trust me, it'll be a different experience.

  13. Excerpt from my ongoing Wheel of Time notes.  Spoilers up through Towers of Midnight.  Question I have that I don't want to get lost if I end up posting all of these notes when I finish the series.

    Spoiler

Also, Boundless.  His story suddenly made so much heartbreaking sense from less than two pages, which reminds me:  For the most part, I haven’t really noticed where Robert Jordan’s writing leaves off and Brandon Sanderson’s picks up for the last two books.  I’m curious: do we know who came up with Boundless’s history?  I feel like it had to have been planned from his introduction.  But at the same time, something about that scene made me think of Sanderson for some reason.

I'm almost done with the series, aah!  I'm hoping to get A Memory of Light tomorrow!

      It's a great book series.

  14. "Ma'am, if you've managed to find something made of gold that is not only real, but also not simply overlaid, then I would be very surprised."
  15. "Well, that depends. What do you have?" "Some kind of rule about shopping," Martin says. "I'm not sure."
  16. "Yep." Martin takes a few steps in, looking around. He looks at Craven and Ely. "Don't touch anything."
  17. Martin pushes open the pawnshop door. "After you."
  18. Martin spots a likely-looking shop and heads that way, weaving through the people.
  19. Between this and my desperate desire for a parody book that mocks the current trends in fantasy (from the A __ of __ and __ title onward), I'm starting to get the feeling that I'm going to have to write something about this.
  20. Was it any good? I've seen trailers and clips, and I'm a bit skeptical.
  21. I'm of the opinion that he's a Warder who's going more than a little reckless after the death of his Aes Sedai. I did go look through the cast to see if there were any hints there, but I'm terrible at matching 'normal' faces to character faces.
