  1. Lord Ruler speculation: The goal of the Lord Ruler is to win. To win, the Lord Ruler must 1. survive and 2. win with the faction.. 1. To survive, the Lord Ruler must avoid both being killed [twice] and remain unsuspicious while not being good enough to be killed by the elims. Balancing this is difficult and annoying. If the LR gets struck down [by the lynch or the kill] and survives, the elims will automatically know that they are the LR (since all Spiked are Inquisitors). Either this individual is a useless ally [alignment scanner that doesn't count for parity] or a potent enemy. Thus the elims should immediately kill this person. This means that the LR cannot get hit once or they will lose. To not get killed at all, the LR must balance being unsuspicious and bad. This is difficult, especially in the late game, where null = sus. The two strategies are being useless or being helpful. Both of these inevitably fail, unless you conjure bigger fish. 2: Let us not contemplate which faction is more likely to win. Instead, let us contemplate which faction you are more likely to impact. You are an alignment scanner with an extra life that does not count for parity. You are completely useless to the elims, except perhaps as an information fish. However, your information would be invaluable to the village, as they have no alignment scanner. You cannot do anything to help the elims. You can do a great deal to hinder them. If the elims are obviously running away with the game and siding with them is obviously the better choice, make your own choices. Just know that you can do absolutely nothing. 2a: Correction: You can do very little. All possible strategies result in your death. Perhaps at LyLo, you can lie to the group and get them to mislynch someone. However, you don't know how many elims there are. Perhaps you could claim in PMs, but that also might get you killed. You want to survive. You need to survive. All of your options lead to death. If you side with the village, you can at least try to change things before you get killed. Conclusion: Allying with the elims is only beneficial if the elims are winning, as you can do nothing to aid in their success. Prioritize your survival over all else, as you can only win if you yet live. Be forgotten.
  2. @Araris Valerian, I hereby declare a blood feud against you for killing me. (Not really.) This would have been an interesting game. I would have been wrong about everyone, but still.
  3. This is a matter of much debate and controversy. The current meta states that a D1 lynch is optimal. The arguments against are what you have stated. The arguments for are as follows: If we do not lynch someone, the elims will kill someone, and we'll be exactly where we were but down a player. In addition, the interactions during the lynch can provide information. I personally think the D1 lynch is good, but I still don't like to participate.
  4. I love how you think that we don't need the Canton of Inquisition. It's right in the name, after all. Besides, without all Cantons and thus PMs, how else will I get pocketed by a confirmed elim? [If I wasn't on mobile, I would be actively engaging in shenanigans, but alas, 'twas not meant to be.]
  5. I have a major project and many tests coming up, so activity may be a bit scattered. The following is an analysis of the rules. Factions: The Lord Ruler is a variable that may be difficult to account for. Assuming that this player is logical, they will back the winning side. This makes the village's job all the more important. If they are doing well, they get an advantage. If they are failing, we get an ally. Roles: General: There are no protects. The only way for a person to be attacked and survive is for them to be Spiked or the Lord Ruler. For safety's sake, we should probably kill anyone who survives a lynch. If they survived the kill, they are the Lord Ruler (since we can't target ourselves). All of the roles seem quite straight forward, and I fear I am becoming worse at analysing with each passing game. Lord Ruler: See above. Overseer: Slow alignment scanner Useful for both sides. Compounding: Survival. Spiked: Survival. Mistborn: One kill. Choose wisely, and don't waste it. Orthodoxy: Rolescan. Since it doesn't see faction-specific, it cannot be used as a knock-off alignment scanner. Resource: Vote removal. Avoid ties so the Inquisitors (no one expects the Spanish Inquisition!) can't take advantage. Finance: Vote moving at the cost of one's vote. Worthless in 2-person lynch situations. Inquisition: Roleblock. Stops the elim kill. If there is no elim kill in the night, you are probably why. Do not claim. We need you. Please note that I am quite busy for a bit and may or may not be scattered for the entirety of this weekend.
  6. I was moderately surprised when Taravangian became a Radiant, as I would think that his utilitarian morals interfere with his ability to swear the First Oath. However, my confusion was alleviated when it was revealed that Hoid had snuck along with the Shadesmar expedition to convince the inkspren into sending one of their number to Taravangian.
  7. And so the pieces are in play. Shadesmar expedition! Taravangian remains one of my favorite characters, as always. Different moral philosophies engaging never ceases to delight me. These fabrial discoveries are groundbreaking. Aluminum interacting with Investiture is also intriguing. Is it only beneficial in circumstances of motion or can it be used in other contexts? Also, cults! I love cults!
  8. The question is one of if, not when. Inevitability is not a choice, but a burden
  9. Vivere memoriam.
  10. @Quinn0928, good job lying. I am quite proud of you, and you did excellent. Congratulations to the eliminators for killing the only one of my characters that ever survived a game. I enjoyed this greatly. Hopefully one day, I will become an elim.
  11. Rinala told me, so amused were they by my assumption. In the interest of having a chance at life, I shall retract Daziron and vote Rinala. If a tie were to occur, we would not be a misllynch from death, so keep that in mind.
  12. Rinala didn't scan Reading. My statement was poorly worded. Rinala is an alignment scanner. Reading is not an elim. These statements are not associated. When I die, lynch Rinala and Daziron, but also analyse the first few cycles for leads. One mislynch will cause a loss after my untimely demise.
  13. Typo. I think Lirin's attitude towards Kaladin's departure from the army is a bit insensitive. He just lost everything, and all you can think of is how you were right all along? Honestly, Lirin, I love you, but you have a son with depression and severe self-doubt. Be a bit more aware of the moment. Don't say, "You're finally going to be the person we want you to be and stop doing things that don't matter!"

  15. I am in communications with Rinala. They have confirmed that they are indeed an alignment scanner and that Reading is not an elim. My apologies, Reading.
  16. It seems that I shall die on this day. How unfortunate. Twelve of us remain. There are 4 Diagrammists [implied due to private communications]. 8-4. I die tonight, especially since the Diagrammists might have Convincing individuals. 6-4. Then you are one mislynch away from certain doom. Once you kill Rinala and Daziron, you have no certain suspicions. I certainly know nothing. You are going to fail. Rinala's plan was sound in theory. Ensure a mislynch, enter sudden death, three Diagrammists left to manipulate the vote. I assume they did not anticipate my knowledge of Daziron's identity, but the stratagem was strong. Thought: Reading stated that they were Insightful and saw that both I and Rinala were Connected. However, I do not believe a Diagrammist would have an alignment scanner, as they know everyone's alignments already. Thus Reading must be lying. After you kill Rinala and Daziron, they would be a good target.
  17. Interestingly enough, I am a Connected. I scanned Daziron and they were an elim. I know Rinala is a liar and thus a Diagrammist, but I think Daziron is more charismatic and thus the greater threat. Preferably, we could get a tie and kill them both, but alas, that may not be possible. If I die, lynch Rinala and Daziron.
  18. Vote history: Somebody pokes Banana Banana votes Daziron for mishearing them. Daziron votes Somebody for suspecting a dead person, suspecting the first voter, considering roles to be important, etc Illwei votes Somebody. Somebody votes Illwei. Kriti votes Somebody for a strange vote on Illwei. Jesereth votes Somebody for a strange vote on Illwei, general confusion, false information. To be fair, Somebody was acting a bit strange. Interestingly enough, Daziron and Kriti were on both of the mislynches. I would not like to think a Diagrammist would be so careless, but this speaks volumes. I personally would like to trust Daziron, but that could be residual trust from previous interactions in times long past. Other note: @Illwei stated that Somebody "saw" them as Ghostblood. Could you elaborate on this? Was it a scan or merely a read?
  19. Cheradokarinabeore? (Translation: I am certain there were more pages than this. What happened?)
  20. Incomprehension, horrific nightmares and fantastic daydreams, forget mirages, forgetful daydreams, fantastical and nightmarish horror incomprehensible.
  21. Behold! The message from the machines! Ticking clockwork combines in a saga of ternary to bring you a hallowed message! Dost thou comprehend the nature of infinity?
  22. Did you not see the explanation? Honestly, the questions of these humans. It's like they are entirely oblivious to their surroundings.
  23. Gibberish flavoured A-spin is inputting a series of random characters as dictated by the benevolent machines. Gibberish flavoured Z-spin is inputting a series of random syllables as dictated by the benevolent machines.
  24. Can you distinguish between the incomprehensible dialect of gibberish and the pseudo-comprehensible dialect of gibberish? No, because you're all a bunch of gibbering morons. Aside: Do not take my insults as offense. Take it as a fence, which you can use for your tulips or begonias.
