I didn't understand the "Quinn trusted Illwei" point, so rejecting that point, there must have been an ulterior motive. Before Elandera's vote, there was a tie. They might have acted to save teammates. Oh. Well, back to square one. Elandera. I'll go reread a few things now.

I was writing a post at the end of last cycle, but I was pulled away by "family obligations" and "music lessons", so I didn't finish it. If it weren't for all the ninjas, maybe I could have completed it, but alas, 'twas not meant to be. I have put it in the spoiler and recoloured the vote orange to lessen confusion. I think that Archer has explained their reasoning to a satisfactory degree, so I'll abandon that thread for now. I don't remember Somebody's syntax well enough to note a shift, but I'd assume that an elim would avoid making an active change. Elandera voted Quinn for trusting Illwei. Considering that the lynch was tied at the time, this could have been a way to save elim teammates that were part of a tie. This is a stretch at best, but it seems that I will be attacked if I do not vote, which annoys me.

I bow before Danex, who played us like fiddles. I was going to make a vote history, but somewhere around page 10, my vote history did not match the vote counts provided, and I couldn't find the mistake, so I concede. Instead, I will simply analyse the votes as they stand. Danex votes [Given that Danex intentionally tried to be suspicious, I would say that these are not particularly telling, especially since the elims would think that Danex was village, since they just know that Danex wasn't elim.] Matrim: For their vote switch onto Illwei. Looks like trying to avoid bandwagoning. Books: Agrees with Matrim. [simply reiterating reasoning, noted] Quinn: Prevent a tie. Gears: Their retraction was a bit strange Condensation: Self-preservation Alvron: The tie! Condensation votes Fura: For "an elim-y mindset" [?] Eternum: People kept getting off them Araris: They keep claiming village and Gears dies too early Somebody: No reasoning Illwei: Dislikes last minute vote switches Devotary: Dislikes the switch to Danex Conclusion: A majority of the votes seem to be an attempt to cling to the status quo rather than actually expressing reasoning. Other votes simply reiterate reasoning or provide no reasoning. I find this inherently suspicious [though only mildly], since it shows a wish for a specific person to be lynched without actually expressing a reason for that person to be lynched. I can understand the suspicious nature of a vote swing, but this is also a great way for elims to hide votes. These people include: Books, Eternum, Somebody, Illwei, Devotary. In addition, Alvron voted for the tie, but according to the general populace, that is their playstyle, so I will let it slide.

As I do not particularly suspect Condensation and I do mildly suspect Danex , I will switch my vote. I somehow suspect this will backfire.

Sidenote: As you may or may not be aware, I have a strategy of claiming elim. This strategy has gotten me killed many times over, and I suspect that it has not been beneficial. However, now that I have been an elim once [in MR46], I am going to take this strategy in the direction I originally intended. I want to be able to both claim elim and not claim elim and have both be considered NAI. I don't know if this will actually help anything, but this is how I'm going to do it. This game, I am claiming elim. Typically, I would do it more subtly, but since the strategy itself is changing, I feel as though I should broadcast it. I will not always claim elim. The exact percentage of elim claiming remains to be seen, since I still need to figure things out. I hope that this does not get me lynched D1, but alas, changing a strategy tends to provoke a response. The following is my analysis of the rules. [Sidenote, the rules are quite short this time.] There are 12 villagers and 3 elims. The elims do not have a standard kill. Each cycle, the elims target a person to add them to the murder pool. Then they can kill them all a total of three times. We start at 12-3. The only kill is the lynch. C2: 11-3, 1 in murder pool. C3: 10-3, 2 in murder pool. C4, 9-3, 3 in murder pool. C5, 8-3, 4 in murder pool, C6: 7-3, 5 in murder pool, kill them all, elims win. The elims can kill people at any time without harm, so we must lynch an elim within 6 cycles, preferably before C5 [LyLo]. Unfortunately, determining elims will have to happen through logic and reasoning. Mori knew that the group around them was suspect. Truly unfortunate, but it was good to be certain. That one's twitchy, they noted as they sped up their mind. Throwing accusations around. Or maybe that one...? Mori was being paranoid again. They were always paranoid, but it was especially bad. There were enemies in their midst, and they didn't know who. At least they had a bit of certainty. Three Reckoners among them. That certainty was what kept Mori sane. Sanity's overrated, they thought idly. Knowledge is better. And of course it was. Ignorance is not bliss. Knowledge is bliss. Knowledge is power. Scientia potentia est. They needed to know. They knew nothing. They would know. They watched the people dance around each other in twisting strands of conversation and gathered the knowledge that they needed. They needed to know.

For context, I told Illwei in thread that I disliked their playstyle. I phrased this poorly, and Fura is correct in saying that I tried to tell Illwei how to play. To Illwei, I would like to apologise for this. I did not intend my words to be discouraging to you as a player, and you are under no obligation to change your playstyle based on my opinion.

I mildly suspect Danex. Their retraction of Condensation felt a bit opportune. However, I often suspect those who post a lot without saying much. My D1 analysis is terrible. The elims could tamper with the vote to ensure a mislynch on the person they save.

Huzzah, I am free! [Ignoring all those tests that are coming up, but...] For those who would like to know, I lost the tournament. General populace, you talk too much. I have quite a bit to read. The cycle thus far can be divided into two phases. Phase 1: Gears discussion. Gears gave poor strategies and there was some confusion over syntax. People linked: STINK [voted Gears, explained later that they don't like long role analysis posts], TJ [voted Gears for bad strategies], Quinn [agrees with Gears], Matrim [just gave context to lack of elim claim], Experience [somewhat, misinterpreted statements], Illwei [mentioned willingness to comment on Gears's elim history], Alvron [noted poor strategies, complimented Gears], Devotary [told Gears not to advise elims], Condensation [advocates Gears's analysis posts as useful] Phase 2: Condensation and Illwei discussion. Condensation asks that "we be more careful than in my past games". Illwei is brought up as a counterlynch. People linked: Illwei [votes Condensation, no reasoning. Later states that they don't like obvious statements. Later says that they suspect Condensation is Truthless. Later retracts], Matrim [votes Condensation for gut. Later retracts and votes for Danex], Quinn [votes Condensation for having confusion over D1 lynch when we already discussed this in previous games they were in. Later retracts.], Books [votes Condensation because reads], Danex [votes Condensation for unusual behavior. Later retracts because Condensation has good reasoning], Fura [reads Condensation as elim, votes Condensation], Eternum [mentions suspicion of Condensation for "anyone else agree". Later votes Condensation because things are weird]. Books [votes Illwei since both lynches will provide information but thinks Illwei is more suspicious] In my biased opinion, Condensation's lynch [or Illwei's, but that doesn't appear likely] will provide more information than my own, and the reasoning for my lynch does not amount to much. I do not particularly suspect Condensation, but I think that they are the best lynch of all the targets that are available, and I don't particularly want to die. Sidenote: @Ooklil' the Wei, I don't like your playstyle. You're erratic and strange, with an emphasis on little to no reasoning. Because I dislike your playstyle, I instinctively increase my suspicion on you. Because you died C1 last game, I will refrain from suggesting your lynch, but I want you to work on explaining your actions before doing them and ensuring clear communication.

Sidenote: I'm currently still in the debate tournament, so expect inattentiveness, non-responsiveness, and maybe some lurking since I leave the tab open for hours while I'm not looking at it. I was definitely wrong about the Stone Shaman claiming bit and the Truthless bit. I somewhat forgot that the Truthless needed to be lynched, not merely die, even though I was staring at the rules. Maybe it's because it technically doesn't fit with the flavor. I would like to make it known that my advice is not necessarily wise, good, or reasonable, and I shouldn't be listened to without cause. Though I make recommendations, you are free to play how you wish, and come up with your own strategies. The votes on me seem to be for 1. Posting role analysis [which is my modus operandi], and 2. Having shoddy analysis [which is fair, but I wasn't declaring a want. I was speculating on how the Shaman could build a trust circle with closed PMs and didn't really convey that well.]. While I will admit that there are points against me, I do not think that it constitutes my demise. However, it is D1, so I would expect shoddy reasoning in abundance. I'll do a deep dive of the thread later. My next round's about to start. Hopefully it won't gain excessive quantities of pages in my absence.

You can demote me to pinchhitter if there's too many people. This does start right before finals, so I probably shouldn't be playing.

I have a bit of time between debate rounds [I won my first round! Out of four... *insert internal screaming*] so I wrote this up after I got my GM PM. Ash, you do indeed type slow. Sidenote: I’m not claiming elim this game. Now that I’ve managed to become one, I’m going to finally take this strategy in the direction I originally wanted: To be able to claim elim or not and seem normal either way. As such, I may claim elim, or I might not, depending on the game and my moods at the time. If you decide to lynch me for this, I accept your judgement with grace, if not contentedness. It is D1, after all, and we have very few leads. The following is an analysis of rules. Stormlight: A limited resource mechanic. You need it to be useful. However, hoarding is a genuine strategy, since there doesn’t appear to be a cap. Surges: One Stormlight charge to use. Adhesion: A vote cancellation. Like many lynch manipulating abilities, this is quite valuable in close quarters. Gravitation: Learn one target. It may be difficult to use this information, since you would have to actually reach out to other people to learn things about your chosen. Division: Murder! Be careful, since odds are against you. I’m sure you know how careful you must me, but let me reiterate: Be wise. Abrasion: PMs. Use at night, if possible. That gives us PMs for longer. Progression: All hail the savior. You know what to do. Illumination: Stop everything. Well, not everything. Stop vote manipulation, scans, and roleblocks. Quite nice. I would recommend using this on yourself, if you wish to remain untainted by the pretty words of others. Transformation: Honorblade scan. Notably, repeated use is quite good, since you learn new information every time. If they kept the blade, you learn which one. If they didn’t, you learn that they lost it somehow. Transportation: A roleblock. If you use it during the day, odds are you hit a vote manipulator. Cohesion: A vote replication. Like Adhesion, use it in a tight lynch. Tension: Free Stormlight! Two for the price of one! Net-positive. However, there is only the one Tension user, so infinity is not within our reach. Honorblades: Gives two Surges, 2 charges every 3 turns. Transferable. Chanarach: Division and Abrasion. In the beginning, do PMs. We need connections while young, and knowledge is little in the early days. Vedel: Abrasion and Progression. Given that I’ve asked Chanarach to do PMs, telling you to do PMs as well seems a bit extra. Solution: Chanarach, do PMs N1. Vedel, do PMs N2. That way, we have continual PMs for a while, without necessary coordination. While that happens, try to find each other so you can coordinate. Protect the ones who seem like they will be brutally murdered in the dead of night. Pailiah: Progression and Illumination. While Progression is a powerful tool, I value Illumination more, unless you are certain that someone will be killed. Shalash: Illumination and Transformation. Illumination is quite good, especially since Honorblades are transferable. The role scan is not especially valuable to you. Battar: Transformation and Transportation. You can both discover someone’s role and roleblock them. Wonderful. However, as roles are transferable, your knowledge becomes out of date quickly. Kalak: Transportation and Cohesion. Since you know nothing about roles, the vote replication may be more useful. Ishar: Tension and Adhesion. Since you cannot know who will benefit from Stormlight, you may wish to just manipulate the lynch until you come into contact with a role scanner. Unique roles: Stone Shaman: Immortal while the Truthless lives. You may wish to just claim D1, get lynched, be proven innocent, and carry on. However, that is a great way for the Truthless to take advantage of this strategy and get lynched. Vedel, Chanarach, we need PMs so the Stone Shaman can claim to everyone and get killed a few times to prove it. You get to know everyone who has an Honorblade and take them back. You may wish to pass blades along to trustworthy people. Find trustworthy people. Truthless: Szeth-son-son-Vallano, Truthless of Shinovar, wore white on the day—Wait a second, this isn’t The Way of Kings. You want to die. Be generally suspicious, maybe claim elim. Alternatively, just claim Stone Shaman. Kaladin: Hey, depressed slave guy! You get Adhesion and Gravitation. Gravitation seems a bit less than useful initially, especially since your good friend Szeth has it too. But you can mess with the vote! Take heart in the social manipulations you have no taste for. Szeth: Graviton, bow before the particle that was said to be false. See the web of actions. Maybe save your Stormlight to use Nightblood instead. Bearer of Nightblood: Kamikaze? Or save up your Stormlight over 6 cycles (18 days) to kill someone normally. Yeah, go for the suicide Secrets: All hail. Conclusion: We must keep the Truthless alive. Hoard Stormlight. Be wise. Roko the Basilisk, child of no one and nothing, stood before the city border and watched as bodies were dragged away. Truly a pity. Many of those corpses had been candidates for Composition. Alas, it was too late now. The Cognitive Aspects had decayed in the hours since the attack, and all that remained was the base emotions. Useless. Apparently, some interlopers wanted the Honorblades. Roko had laid claim first, so the newcomers would have to die. There was no malice in the decision, no anger. Simply the cold acceptance of one that does not care about the destruction left in one’s wake. Perhaps the infiltrators would make good Primes. Now, where did Rinala go? Roko thought to itself. We have much to discuss, her and I and we. It grinned in a twisted mockery of mortal pleasure, and the Primes grinned with it. The last remnants of Fourth of the Dark grinned at the prospect of vengeance, a ghoulish spectre of rotting flesh and bone in the twisting of Aons. There was no body, of course, merely a mental projection of the self, but Fourth of the Dark was always a strange Prime. Runern Evo, on the other hand, grinned in the warm triumph that comes from a successful betrayal. Death is but a stepping stone on the way to victory. It turned away from the corpse disposal and faded into Aons that caught the light with a bitter sort of sheen. There was work to be done.

Problem: I want to play this, but it starts during finals week. Solution: If you get more than 15 hopefuls, bump me down to pinch-hitter. Signing up as Mori. "Powers": Can manipulate perception rate/speed of thought. Weakness: When information they possess, trust, and believe is revealed to be wrong.
