  1. I have no defense [though I would like to point out that me being village and Reading's alignment flip are not mutually exclusive. There are many outcomes that allow for this. In addition, I have information that may or may not be useful, but I don't know if I should share it.] Strike me down if you wish, but watch for those who vote for me without reasoning. My death is inevitable, but I hope you do not squander the opportunity to learn from it.
  2. Quinn's reasoning is sound. It hinges on one key point: Reading is not and can't be TLR. Reasoning: If Reading is TLR, then the elim kill was not roleblocked (and if they are TLR and the elim kill was roleblocked, then they still have an extra life so the lynch is fine). The elims would know that they had not been roleblocked, so they would immediately know that Reading was TLR. It is strictly advantageous for the elims to kill TLR. If TLR is elim-aligned, they are useless at best and a dead weight at worst. If TLR is village-aligned, they are a potent tool that provides alignment scans and greatly helps the village. There is no downside to killing TLR, but doing so provides every benefit. If Reading is TLR and was elim-killed, they would be dead. Since Reading is not TLR, they are either a Spiked elim or a villager saved by the roleblock. Their alignment has implications for my alignment. However, the converse is not true. If I am a villager, they can still be a villager. If I am an elim, they can still be an elim. Therefore, we should lynch Reading for the most information. You are welcome to disagree and pursue a different lynch, but logic dictates that this is the optimal path, as I cannot see what information a Danex will offer.
  3. In ages past, the void remained content. Now it hungers.
  4. I mean, our alignments aren't mutually exclusive. Like people have said, we could both be village-aligned, and Reading is TLR. We could even both actually be villagers, if there's a secret roleblocker who remains unknown. I actually suspect that neither of us are elims, for a variety of reasons. 1. I know my alignment. 2. A WGG C1? Seems unlikely. I suppose Reading could be elim-aligned TLR, but in thar case, they are of no importance.
  5. The Anarchist slipped through the Alleyways, meandering towards the Tower that dominated the sky. Lord had grown his business well, with customers abound. However, his booming trade center would soon crumble. The Shadow had infiltrated the nest, and soon it would all fall down. Shade was set to arrive soon, and Shadow was buying more explosives. Sure, the Anarchist already had a few, but always good to lay some down on the inside. The plan was on the cusp of realisation, and soon all would be as it should be. @Scarletfox @kenod
  6. I know, I know, but it's frustrating to watch these machinations happen while I languish in the dark. Besides, I don't understand why Fadran is being lynched. Sure, they told us the wrong name once and colluded with turtle, but turtle was village, and the confusion came to light. Unless TLR scanned Fadran or something, this is not a good lynch. Well, if that's the case, then arguments against your suspicion will not work. Alas, there's nothing I can do.
  7. While these PM reasons appear to be beneficial for me, I still dislike this. How am I supposed to trust this sudden switch off of me when the only evidence is concealed within the depths of Private Messaging? Am I being framed by a coordinated team of elims? Am I being saved by a coordinated team of villagers? Is Fadran being killed by a coordinated team of elims? Is Fadran being killed by a coordinated team of villagers? It would be all too easy for PMers to lie about the contents of their PMs and make up reasons. Elims can just lie and people will go along with it because of "PM reasons". Keeping secrets hurts the village. I, and the village at large, am left without knowledge, confused by the changing tides, and if you tell me this knowledge through PMs, I will inevitably become entrapped in the web of PMs that Quinn and Reading seem to have been caught in. Why are you doing this? How does this help you? Why is Fadran a more desireable target than me? Give me your knowledge, but don't indoctrinate me into your "PM reasons" cult. Just tell us. Give us your secrets, your knowledge, your pain.

  9. The Librarians, though dangerous, are not entities to be feared. Whilst bound to this plane, they cannot use their full power. At best, they can banish you to a shadowy nightmarish realm or erase you from existence. Just don't damage the books. Whatever you do, don't do anything to the books. Nothing can save you then. Don't damage the books.
  10. A general analysis of this cycle. Phase 1: Talking about the write-up. Vote manip: Trying to kill Aman? Trying to save Illwei? Reading's survival: TLR? TLR chose a faction: Which side? Votes: Fadran votes and retracts turtle as a joke. Phase 2: Roleblocks say survived. Danex makes the chainmail plan. Easy to take advantage of, easy to mess up. Votes: Books votes Danex for proposing a bad plan. Ventyl votes Danex for the bad plan. Somebody votes Danex. Ghander votes Books for starting the Danex vote. Danex votes Somebody for bandwagoning. Somebody retracts Danex. Danex votes Ventyl since Somebody was less suspicious. Ghander retracts Books for making good points. Phase 3: Middle bit where nothing much happens. Votes: Aman votes Ventyl for being around to comment but not retract poke votes. TJ votes Ventyl for the same reason. Jester votes Quinn for asking questions. Quinn votes Jester for finding that suspicious. Ventyl retracts Danex and votes Aman for being a good elim. Reading votes Aman for other reasons. Phase 4: The plan is revealed! Quinn got word about Gears, Gears got word about Quinn, everyone is confused. The fonts of knowledge are all contradictory. turtle votes Gears because of the chain. Quinn retracts Jester and votes Gears because of the chain. Somebody votes Gears. Ventyl retracts Aman and votes Gears because of the chain. Reading retracts Aman and votes turtle because turtle isn't a roleblocker. Whysper votes Gears because of the massive vote pileup. TJ votes Gears because of the chain. Reading retracts turtle and votes Aman because turtle explained. Phase 5: turtle confusion. Votes: Fadran votes turtle without reasoning. Gears votes turtle for survival purposes. Danex retracts Ventyl and votes turtle because the chain might have been compromised. Ghander votes turtle for general read and chain confusion. Reading retracts Gears and votes turtle for misdirection. turtle votes Somebody because of bandwagoning. Phase 6: Ghander confusion. Fadran says Ghander was the one who told them to say Quinn. Quinn retracts Gears and votes turtle for being suspicious. turtle votes Ghander. turtle votes Ghander. Bearer votes turtle since they are behind the "Gears scandal". Kings_way votes Ghander for being weird. Sart votes Gears because of the chain. Somebody retracts Gears and votes turtle. Ventyl retracts Gears and votes Reading since they could be an elim. Ventyl retracts Reading and votes Danex for starting this mess. Phase 7: Fadran was wrong. Ghander retracts turtle and votes Fadran for being wrong. Jester retracts Quinn and votes Ghander for coordinating things. Fadran retracts turtle. Kings_way retracts Ghander. Whysper votes turtle for discrepancies. Chasmgoat votes turtle. Ashbringer retracts Gears and votes turtle. TJ votes turtle for the case against them. Unanswered questions: How did the chain get back to turtle when I didn't pass it on?
  11. We've reached a moderate level of understanding, but I still have questions. Quick summary: The chain says that I was roleblocked. I do not know if this is the case, since I did not submit an action. Danex passed on this message to turtle, who decided to lie to me about it, and told me Quinn was roleblocked. They also asked Fadran to do the same thing. I told Quinn that the chain told me they'd been roleblocked. Quinn told me that the chain said I'd been roleblocked. We all ran about like confused headless chickens. Strange thing: turtle says that the Quinn message came back around to them. I did not pass on the Quinn message (except telling Quinn that I'd been told this). turtle and Fadran say they did not tell anyone but me. Whence comes this message? @eltruT, are you sure you only told me? @Channelknight Fadran, did you tell anyone else about Quinn being roleblocked? Does anyone know where the message came from?
  12. At long last, the end. Jubilation tinged with sorrow, and a dash of cinnamon for flavor. Add lemon zest and serve cold.
  13. Elaboration: turtle and Fadran both told me that you were roleblocked. Fadran said that this information chained up to Danex. turtle has explained. @Channelknight Fadran has not. Where did you get your information? I haven't the slightest idea. Ask Fadran. They have the answers.
  14. I don't have much to say. The chain says I was roleblocked. I didn't submit an action last cycle, so I don't know the veracity of that statement. I know my alignment, so there are a few options. 1. Reading is Spiked/TLR and I was roleblocked/people said I roleblocked. 2. The killer was roleblocked, that roleblocker didn't participate in the chain, and I was roleblocked/people said I was roleblocked. How can I defend myself? The evidence against me is coincidence and hearsay that happens to make quite a bit of sense. What do you want me to say? I'd be alright with a turtle lynch, since they lied to me (though they could have done that as a villager or elim), and I want the slightest hope of surviving.
  15. @Channelknight Fadran said that someone told them that you told them Quinn was roleblocked. I know nothing beyond that.
  16. I didn't say Danex PMed me. I was PMed by a person who said that Danex PMed them that Quinn was roleblocked. I could reveal their identities, if you like. Alright, I wasn't going to reveal your identity, but you PMed me that you were told Quinn was roleblocked. You could have gotten PMed about me and Quinn, but then why not be honest about it?
  17. I have gotten messages about two people, though one of those was brought up as an aside during other communications. I would be willing to share the information.
  18. I was referring to my statements that TLR should ally with the elims if they are doing well. While I did state that TLR should ally with the village in the case of actually wanting to make a difference in this world, I also said that TLR should join the elims in the event of probable victory. I probably overstated this in the post you quoted.
  19. My apologies for not keeping up with this for a bit. I was busy then went to sleep. I do believe that my typical niche of analysing votes was not yet filled, so here is a vote history of last cycle. Mist pokes Chasmgoat (I would like to note that I see no value in a poke vote, but the current meta seems to favor it.) Illwei votes Mist for theorising elim strats, then promptly theorises elim strats, which was mildly hypocritical. (I can never read Illwei. It's the playstyle, methinks. Too crazy. Also my tendency to read people as elim for being inconsistent, but mostly their playstyle). [Mist is replaced by Fadran!] Ventyl pokes Amanuensis. Chasmgoat pokes Condensation. Chasmgoat retracts Condensation. Happy Obligator pokes Ghanderflaffle and asks for thoughts Mist/Fadran retracts Chasmgoat. Happy Obligator retracts Ghanderflaffle on the receival of thoughts. Somebody votes and retracts Somebody as part of a question. turtle pokes Experience. Amanuensis votes Illwei for being chaotic and tunnelling. Bearer tries to vote Illwei but doesn't know how to do colors. Illwei retracts Mist/Fadran and votes Gears because they have to be elim eventually. Whysper votes Amanuensis for suspected pocketing and shading. TJ votes Illwei because they tend to be less confident as an elim. turtle votes Illwei for poke voting when they don't like poke votes. (It's not really a poke vote, just law of averages. If they do that every time, odds are they'll vote me out as elim eventually. Sadly, on that road lies my repeated demise.) Somebody votes Amanuensis. Thinks Aman and Illwei are elims together and that either TJ or Illwei are elims. (I wish people would provide reasoning for things like this.) Bearer tries to vote Illwei again but fails colors. Bearer successfully votes Illwei. Illwei votes Bearer for apologising. Amanuensis votes Bearer as a way off Illwei and because they seemed eager to lynch Illwei. Somebody retracts Aman and votes Bearer (Again with no reasoning.) Aman retracts Bearer to keep new players alive. Illwei votes Gears again (without retracting) Illwei votes Vapor (again without retracting and this time without reasoning) Thoughts: @Somebody from Sel needs to offer reasoning more. They keep saying things without anything. @Bearer of all agonies needs to provide reasoning as well. @Illwei, I ask why you voted Vapor. The vote count: A vote was removed from Illwei. This could be to kill Aman or to protect Illwei. Either way, the culprit probably lies among Aman voters, as everyone else could have simply voted Aman then vote manip-ed to ensure the desired outcome. The kill: Apparently, roleblocks show in the write-up. I've never encountered this before. This does decrease my certainty that Reading is TLR. The roleblock plan: It doesn't work in practice, since elims can send co-ordinated chains. Theoretically, we could trace this back, but that would reveal the origin of the chains. All of your other reads are ones I either agree with or don't remember enough about the person to say anything against, but I don't agree with you on this one. I think that an elim wouldn't want to draw attention to the option of being roleblocked, since that instantly narrows the pool of possible kill submitters. A villager wants to ask questions and get answers. I too advocated that TLR join the elims, and you have nothing on me. I can understand a gut read, but I think your reasoning is flawed.
