LG112 - Pseudocycle Two: First Blood, Digitally
|TJ| replied to The Unknown Medallion's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I didn't see this edit. This only makes it more confusing, how is the claim half-right then?? do you just mean that you are p-village lol? -
LG112 - Pseudocycle Two: First Blood, Digitally

There's nothing wrong from a PtV PoV, but it would have the tendency to make the game quite boring, repetitive and quite frankly, it would stifle discussion if we just walked exe-to-exe. No one would feel enthused to pop in here to discuss anything if the exe is already a foregone conclusion. I do not like the fact that you tried to analyse the source of the claim first. If that is your immediate reaction, it is elim-leaning, I'm sorry. Would you rather I hold the info? Especially when we do not know who killed Xino and the fact the we exe'd Coder because of it?? And I have given you reasons why I do not want to exe Verdance. In addition, they do not have much of a thread-presence and our aim is to kill any p-villager, that's it. Because it would mean you lied by omission and used it to get Coder exe'd. If there is claim going that Coder should be killed because he might have killed Xino, and if you've killed Xino, I absolutely think you should have come forward and claimed the kill. How can it be half right? The claim is that you are (pseudo) Village Coinshot. Either you are or you aren't. The fact that you could have killed Xino is my deduction. And in fact, I'm pretty sure everyone would agree with me that if you are a Coinshot, the likelihood that you killed Xino is way higher than the likelihood Coder killed him (Coder who was way less involved with the game that you were). The only way of me to verify the claimant's info is to kill you, and that is only possible in Pseudo-cycles. If you are not a Coinshot, I don't have a strong reason to ME-read you, and we can prevent you getting mis-exed in the meta-cycle (which is more important). This is the best pseudo-cycle to test this because Verdant's meta-exe seems to be all but confirmed and nothing extra really comes from their pseudo-exe. -

I'm on board with ME!Verdance, I do think that they failed Araris' reaction test wholly. I would prefer if we exe someone else though because I don't like the idea of exe'ing someone b2b and we need to exe them in the meta-cycle. Another thing, there is a Pseudo-GM in the game and they changed my role to Tineye. I am leaning towards this being evil motivation. It seems like they are going around and seemingly nerfing roles but also intending to keep communications open in case they die in both the games. Yet another thing, I have had a claim that Myst is a Village Coinshot. If Myst is the third Coinshot, I heavily lean towards Myst killing Xino (over Coder lying about not killing), in which case I would be very interesting in learning why Myst did not claim the kill if there was village intention in it. It would also mean that the chances of presence of meta-elim in pseudo-elim increases significantly. Perhaps they have a Pseudo-IM as well because they hit a presumably MV!PE!Coinshot and I was a Seeker before they nerfed my role (or they are tremendously lucky). I'm okay voting out Myst because we get to validate the claim and if it is correct, we would be voting out a pseudo-villager which is good if we are continuing the assumption that they bet on village victory. It would also reduce the control and kill-power they have if Myst is meta-elim. -

@Mystwhat exactly is your argument against Coder? Do you think he's lying about not killing Xino? -

|TJ| replied to The Unknown Medallion's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Guys, get off Coder, a Coinshot who holsters is always a villager here. I'm looking at Hoid Slayer's VC last Pseudo-cycle, and I'm getting a feeling that it was elim-generated to vote out a pseudo-elim. Hoid Slayer -

I'm going to be out of town for a couple of days so expect close-to-zero activity from me, I apologise in advance. @CoderDrag0n8, was the xino shot you? Willing to v-read anyone who did not use their shot last cycle. I guess there could be some weird Sel shenanigans going on... @xinoehp512 did you take a shot last cycle? -
Also, I will say here that there little downside to voting out players in pseudogame whom you suspect in meta-game because you are reducing their voting power in the pseudo-game if you are right. At least makes sense in the beginning stages of the game where we have little idea where they have placed their bets. Having said that, mippo I do think there are instances where you are overplaying your cluelessness.

I think this is village. I see Striker was asking about my earlier evil-read, it was just gut, you seemed a bit hesitant in your wordings, but I guess I just haven't played with you recently, and it might just be that. I might agree with the above sentiment (if you are saying that they have more incentive to bet on the pseudo-village victory). Banking on percentage, it is more likely to have at least 1 meta-elim be pseudo-elim than all meta-elims be pseudo-villagers.

LG112 - Night Zero: And the Night Got Deathly Quiet
|TJ| replied to The Unknown Medallion's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I think the only way we get to see which way they place the bet is we obserbe how pseudo-game goes, so there's little point to playing guessing games now. Initial gut-reactions - Myst village, Striker evil -

The thing is, winning the pseudo-game is not in their hands. Sure, they have slightly more control over the pseudo-game than us, but it still isn't much to say confidently that they would breeze through the pseudo-game because they do not know what alignment they are going to be in the pseudo-game. Which way would you go though? Would you bet on the pseudo-village or pseudo-elims to win? -
I think most of you get the gist of it, but I made a flowchart in the hopes that it makes things more clearer - I'll also tag the player list so you don't miss it. I think I've got it correct, but if there is something wrong, please feel free to correct it, @The Unknown Medallion. Essentially, the pseudo-game is a bonus to help win the meta-game, but the meta-game win-con is the one we need to reach. Meta-villagers win with meta villagers, and meta-elims win with meta-elims only. To make it clear, there would be no backstabbing among meta-elims IN the meta-game. Oh, and I'm signing up!

mafia championship A Knock from Outside the Cosmere
|TJ| replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
My game starts in about 3 hours! Here's the Game Thread Link for all who's interested in following. As a reminder, please do not discuss the game where I can see it. You have the option of joining the MU spec chat server, but if not, please contact one of the mods to create a Champs spec doc or a private Champs spec chat channel on SE discord.- 636 replies

Any reason why you prefer Group PM for Faction communication? I think it would work better with Docs because there would be a lot more scheming and coordination in a faction game and it would be easier through Docs than in a Group PM.

I hope this doesn't raise unrealistic expectations for village TJ because village TJ does in fact have many off days quite often :P.

Hi! Welcome to SE! The next game should go up during the weekend. Keep a look out in the subforum for thread with [Sign-Ups] in its name and I'll try to tag you when it goes up as well!

Done.

I had a look at this, and the premise is interesting. It may help to look at Wyrm's QF22. Player list split into Day players and Night players - with Day and Night players bonded to each other. The main with this was it severely affected activity because Day players could only post during Day cycles and Night players could only post during Night cycles. I was looking at this game when I ran QF50, I removed the whole split cycles thing and just ran it based on bond pairs. The fact that both the Radiants and Spren can talk in both cycles is definitely a good thing. If you are considering to run an MR, I would suggest splitting 48 hours to 24-hour of Radiant and Spren cycles. You could also run this as LG - 48 hour Radiant cycle Days and 24-hour Shadesmar cycle Nights. Elim team numbers would need to be balanced to be lower than usual because of 2 conversions.

This is a big compliment, thanks! But also, someone put me and Doc in a team, I want to see what happens :P.

The idea was that it would give us 2 close-to-guaranteed MLs. Things were a bit uncertain at the time and Mint was coming under a lot of fire. I know the plan would bring me and Ink under scrutiny but I had hoped I would earn goodwill by reveal the message and use the goodwill to exe the village Prefects first. Then we'd see - either Ink would get exe'd which would give me close-to irrevocable village read ("there's no way he puts 2 elims in danger by revealing the info") and then I'd hopefully coast on Extra Credit and claiming to Protego myself for survival OR like it happened, we'd find a way to brute force it because for all intents and purposes lylo is actually a cycle earlier in this game. Thank youuuu! It's been a looooong time since I have elimed. And usually, I'd be perfectly happy with that but I needed an elim game badly to see how I'd do before Champs, so I'm glad to have played the game! Now back to a very long village streak pls :P. Thanks to my teammates for having lots of patience and bearing with me and I'm sorry for all the worry and anxiousness I caused, you guys were amazing just going along with it. I had loads of fun evil-ing with you :') Sorry again I thought it was just me and you, lol. No wonder our EoCs were calm and quiet :P. Thanks @Archer, your games always have fun mechanics and I'm always looking forward to them!

Mid-Range 76: Or Worse, Expelled!: A Harry Potter Mafia Game
|TJ| replied to Archer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
[Wahr, Twin, Ink, Hopper, Miss Fallen, Aet, TUM, Mint] I'm assuming 4 elims because I do agree that the positive votes on Ink by Wahr and Mint are quite telling and they do not do this if they were heading into this cycle 6-3. Assuming Wahr, Ink and Mint are evil -> [Twin, Hopper, Miss Fallen, Aet, TUM] I think I can only reduce the PoE by removing Twin as he is quite villager-y today. The last elim could by any of the other 4.
