  1. Murder? Generally speaking: solo faction, has an NK, and can't win with any other factions (or anyone else, usually). But there's usually some other thing that goes along with it, because only-NK SKs usually have a rough time competing with coordinated efforts to find them.
  2. Pretty sure Devo's run in MR56 was the last time. Unless you count LG95, but Autonomy wasn't really a Serial Killer. (Well... he wasn't supposed to be, at least...)
  3. If I rand SK I will laugh at how things have come full circle ... oh yeah. I'm in. Close enough to being done with the school year to think about these now. Signing up as... Ash. Definitely a 100% normal, human, mortal Ash. No funny business here, no sir
  4. I'll pinch hit as [pinch hittee's character who definitely didn't get eaten by a kandra].
  5. I could roleclaim, I guess. But that might just get me killed anyway. Hmmm. Nah.
  6. On one hand, me dying here gives me a lot more time to focus on IRL things. On the other hand, I’d rather not die, because I don’t want to and there’s still so much to do. So… hmm. Archer. Although a switch to Wit wouldn’t be the worst.
  7. Oooh boy. Well, hopefully I can work my magic in 30 minutes because I still have thesis work to do.
  8. And then there was quiet. ... well, don't look at me to make it louder, I just finished an essay and if you can do timezone math then I need sleep
  9. I got one (related to a certain Sapphire, through a certain Eye) but a lot? Wouldn't it be limited to one per Stoneward?
  10. Mostly what you said above, it feels more in Devo’s ballpark than the others’. I think JNV or Archer would do something a bit different, Aeoryi seems V and probably would too, and no idea what Raven would do. Wit’s a bit more likely of a silencing kill than Mat, but E!Mat feels more likely to pick a shot on Araris outside of voting.
  11. NKA on Araris tends to be either a low-activity kill, or a fear kill from someone who wasn't around for the fear kill meta / discussions on avoiding the fear kill meta. Thing is, that was... a long time ago. Enough that there's a lot of people who don't know about it, and there's enough time that those that do don't think of it as "well we C1'd Araris again". (Speaking of a long time, it's been a long time since I've done this as a Villager...) Aeoryi Raven TJ Ashbringer Matrim Archer Kasimir STINK JNV Wit Devotary Not TJ, and I don't think STINK. Aeoryi Raven Ashbringer Matrim Archer Kasimir JNV Wit Devotary ... gonna be honest, could go a lot of ways from here. Araris really only went after Mat and Wit. I think Araris wasn't so much as fear-killed as killed as a relatively low-impact but trusted player. My only argument for not-me is that I gave Araris as one of my two-ish Village reads, which isn't solid if objective!Ash is looking at things. Aeoryi Raven Matrim Archer JNV Wit Devotary Doesn't seem that much like the e!JNV I remember, but I'm not that much more confident in this. Archer said that his opinion on putting trusted players in the 2nd Ideal-gaining vote slot "evolved" over time based on his ability to use vote manip and change the exe result. I can see there being a bit of a conflict there, between a player's natural instinct and the game's incentive to mess with the exe. But I don't see how that would make it change over the course of a cycle. AAAAAAAAA Not sure what to think of Archer at this point. The logic works, mostly, but I don't know if it works all together.
  12. Because I don't think anyone's answered these - Archer claimed Windrunner, with the ability to cancel a player's vote. V! (and E!) are indicators for Village (the good guys) and Elim/Eliminator (the bad but cool guys). Useful for tracking things. I.e. if someone thought Aman and Raven were Elim together (or thought that if one was Elim, the other would be), you could say Aman and Raven are E-E, or that E!Aman leads to E!Raven. Or as a more applicable example, Aman flipped Village, so you can discount E!Aman possibilities. For future reference - I have lab 4/7 days of the week until about 1 hour before rollover, which is why I was panickedly trying to figure things out in that hour before. So... what just happened?
  13. *Shamelessly doing last minute RP for bonuses* Bailis suddenly stood up and walked out the door. She'd given her vote, and if they needed her again they'd know where to find her. Didn't seem like she needed to do more than that. Besides, she hadn't spoken to her spren in a time. "Do you know who you can trust?" she whispered to the air. 'No. Many think they're doing what's right. Many are right. These are different' her spren replied in that small voice. Everything's different, replied the louder one. Bailis didn't think that her spren could hear it. But she had no way of knowing until they tried to communicate. Regardless, it heard her spren, and that gave some credence to its tempting words. But she didn't know if it was Odium or something worse, and so she must avoid it. That was the agreement. That was the need to protect Roshar. She would protect Roshar. Edit: welp
  14. Same, although jumping on someone in the last 10 minutes is on my bingo list of "Elim ways to avoid the Exe". Why do you care so much? Bailis shook her head. She'd lost her train of thought, and her train of movement. Defending herself had occupied her, but not for long enough. Dissipation could cause that. And that let the voice gain another foothold. It's interesting, really. You've lived so long. Everything about your life has been learning about the world outside this broken planet. Here's an opportunity to leave. Why so hesitant to take it? Bailis looked. The discussion was narrowing. It didn't seem like she was a part of it. Not enough of one. Shay. Phil. Aman. All of them. Out of reach of her mind. That's all you're going to say? You know I'm still here. You know I'm offering something you've only dared dream of. A way out, Bailis. But after millenia of chasing the door, you're stopping at the threshold and looking back. Why? "I have a duty to Roshar," Bailis whispered. Sure seems like they don't have a duty to you. The Curse of Kind, I can free you from it. I've got that power now. It's fun. But the Curse isn't even the real problem, isn't it? You have power now but you want more. I can free you from that too. "Duty is not optional." Bailis said. She thought. Maybe. But I'm fantastic at making options. This is gonna be fun.
  15. Oh those votes have changed around quite a bit. I said I'd vote Wit earlier. Might as well stick to it, even if I'm partially going with the logic of "absolutely nothing about them has stuck in my head so far".
  16. ... well I'm gonna do it again Eh? I didn't realize we had so many at first. Either way, depends if that happens now or later. Makes Wit a more appetizing target though IMO. I mean, there are answers to that question. I'm just curious if they're good ones. ... huh. Two things. One: there really was no Ash Train. You voted on me, people talked about me, nobody else actually voted on me until after you took your vote off of me. I think it's still just one vote (although need to look at page 8... scary). Two: is that reframing a narrative? I'm not saying I haven't done much in terms of me not doing anything actively suspicious, I'm saying I haven't accomplished anything, which as Kas and others pointed out means there's not a lot of incentive to work to keep me alive. I'm saying I'm aware of that, and am working to change it. Although whether I changed it before you changed your vote... not sure about that. ... okay that's reframing a narrative, but I would argue back to it's original frame And a roleclaim. Hmm. A bit confusing on why that would make your close vote stance evolve, unless you only realized what Adhesion did halfway through the cycle.
  17. How long until rollover? DSL threw me off.
  18. ... yeah my last Village 'normal' game was July. Oh dear. Gut read time. I'm gonna say it's cheating to gut read you V, even though I probably do Village: Araris. Seems mostly normal, and tbh I've forgotten if E!Araris spends time on RP. Elim: In theory, Wit. In practice I think I'm more likely to vote TJ, STINK, or Exp Aman Aman if he doesn't return from Valorant those two, just because of Contribution Crusade power tending to make the game a bit more fun and has the bonus effect of convincing me to be active to stay off the chopping block. But I think I agree with others that Wit seems a bit... coasting, despite prior games. (Could say that about me, I suppose, but I feel like V!me has a ramping pattern... it's been a while since I've pulled it off but I definitely have.) ... ouch I'm defensive/reactive by nature, when I have the chance. And I do this time around. Knowing why people vote me lets me make arguments as to why you shouldn't, and that gives me time to do things. I am a little curious why you call it an inactivity-based vote when it was the 5th post of the cycle? TJ or Wit*. So... yes, I guess. *Disclaimer: if Ash actually has a kill ability he's probably lying so he doesn't get countershot. Or maybe he's not! I love conditional lies. I hope no one hates me But Kas got it mostly right for suspicion-wise. I do tend to do Araris's flying under the radar, except I'm not quite as good as it. Tend to get more votes. Honestly, I like having pressure - if I have time to answer it, it gives me something easy to get a jump off point to discuss, and I tend to be good at explaining myself. It can definitely backfire if things get too much or if I don't have time, and then I either die, or end up consuming the entire Village's discussion for 3+ cycles which is honestly worse. I like it more in games like this, where over time I can do more things that give me mechanical things to do. Do I have time? I guess I'll find out. Also... how many votes do I actually have? I think it was just Archers, then Archer switched to Devo and you switched to me. So might just be the one. I second this... I think. Also - I think I've either not known or entirely forgotten my Village tells. Mostly because I (in my opinion) try to play mostly genuinely as an Elim. But also because it's been a while. And it's been more of a while since I was Village. And because a lot of the times I've been Elim I've felt busy from some mix of me actually being busy and me not wanting to deal with being Elim, except I'm just busy now because grad school apps are due in 25 days ack. Aaaaaaand Aman just quoted me but on a different page so I'm just going to post this and then edit it. Edit: THEY MOVED THE EDIT BUTTON Well, how's this for effort
  19. As of now? Village but watch. Archer’s stated he wants to try and find suspects, and then if he can’t go to a no/low activity player. That seems to match what he’s doing, if we take the vote on Exp as a corrected mistake. It would also indicate he set out to do something like that, as he voted me while (probably) seeing I was reading the thread without having yet posted. I don’t tend to read votes on me that suspicious. Archer as a player is good in either role, and E!Archer is… somewhat scary but not enough to fear vote. Those tend to backfire more than anything. Although our last non-faction-time travel-game together, Elim!me did write a 500 word post on how Archer was evil and I wasn’t. So that did happen Since when has that ever gone wrong? … ignore the game I just referenced above
  20. I'd rather avoid focusing on the 2nd-highest vote, at least until we see how the spread of vote manip is. Everyone's got an incentive to ascend in Ideals, but Elims have more of an incentive to help each other, and can do that in a few different ways. Plus Windrunners have incentive to mess with the final vote independently. And normal D1 rush shenanigans. Would rather not have anyone up near the vote that people actually trust. What that means in the mix of trust that's D1, who knows, but... math is not my strong suit but I'm trying to do the math here and it scares me. ... as of now, not much If I had a nickel for each time Archer voted on me while I was typing up a post, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice... on C1...
  21. Hey, I wrote this all after the game started And similarly to Bailis, I’m not super great at finding ideas from nowhere, especially since I haven’t played in a bit. A few ideas around. For instance, did Archer vote me because he saw me watching for so long typing RP, or did he just pick me? Who knows?
  22. Bailis had always had a habit of standing as motionless as she could manage and simply stare into nothingness. She'd been trying to break it for a few hundred years now, but she'd had it for... much longer than that. It would be in her extended notes, but the ones she had on her body currently were about more current events. The return of Odium after a few thousand years was worth that much. So much information, so little time, and the Ghostbloods making their sets of moves concurrently didn't simplify matters. She'd added nearly a third of her sum findings over the last year, while she'd been watching for... She was still staring, wasn't she. Bailis took a moment to ensure the object that her eyes were resting on wouldn't require further explanation, then shook herself, the sudden motion serving to break the mental loops she was putting herself into. Motion: move from recollecting, to action. Action, against corruption, against selfish action, against one of the more dangerous Shards of Adonalsium and almost certainly the most dangerous to Roshar at present. She gave a nod to Callar, then began to survey the other present Radiants. Action: survey, mark, ponder. Bailis knew she was bad at first impressions, and these would be harder than most. Normally she merely had to mark possible vectors of the Curse of Kind, or those who would be less understanding of a Siah Aimian. That had largely been passed: the return of the Broken One and the Nahel bond had united many. Shin, singer, Aimian, even a few potential worldhoppers she was keeping a greater eye on. But now she had to watch for those willing to betray. Unity of thought and action let Bailis operate a bit more effectively. Watch, ponder. She would need to get to know the other Radiants better. She had limited information, though what she knew at the moment was useful if limited and restricting. Death, overly secretive. Saffron, first to call a name. Orotha, cautious with reason. Phil, who had just denounced her publicly, openly hostile. She would have to manage that last one. Bailis knew that only very limited things could actually harm her, but she hadn't faced a Shardblade for a very long time. For now, she simply gave a glance at the man Phil had spoken to, then continued her way out of the meeting hall. She would be back, but she needed to consult with her spren, and doing that here would defeat the point. And spending too long pondering risked more gaps in her attention. And that would reinvite that voice in her head.
  23. There's a more extensive character sheet in the Era 6 Characters Thread!
  24. I have... four characters, last I checked? Four an a half if you count my shopkeeper-quasi-NPC who does shopkeeping when Cassie is busy doing adventure things. (Then five an a half if you count Tyrian the Edgelord, which... I don't ). Multiple characters is nice to do things in multiple places, although it can get a bit awkward if your own characters start interacting, whether they know each other in character or not. Totally doable though. Speaking of characters, I might be able to whip up something my DA Department Head character (Kalten Winterheart) could sponsor. Maybe. Might end up more of a starting hook depending on how much time I have.
  25. I’d go ahead and stick it in the Era 6 Characters Thread, unless you’d want to craft your character specifically to a plot (which can be done, but is more a preference thing). Might be good to find some of the older Era 6 plans - none of them got off the ground so much, but they should give a sense of what ideas were around, and how Era 5 ended. (The Alleyverse is… weird, to put it mildly.) Otherwise, the main thing needed is people and characters. A plan would be helpful, too, but since when has anything here gone to plan?
