  1. Apparently not. The man could fly now. And evidently make a giant hammer from nothing. What couldn't this man do? Tyrian knew this wasn't going well. But although Cinder kept nudging him, tugging on the bond... he just couldn't make himself give up. Tyrian! Listen to me. Take the blow. Do it! Cinder's voice resounded in his mind as he watched the hammer fall. Why would that help? The force of the blow would... Wait... Tyrian turned off his seemingly-useless Division and fueled his Abrasion. He leaned back. And took the blow square in the chest. Some of the impact would slide right off. Some shattered half the bones in his body, which the storm within set to fixing. But perhaps the rest would do something to those shadows... Tyrian toppled over, Stormlight gone. Well, mostly gone. It was now or never.
  2. What exactly is a numbered copy? Is it like #257 off the press or something? I don’t get why it’s so special. That being said... I want it... but that’s a lot of money... I WANT IT! And the Wit coin looks awesome.
  3. Ah, so you have finally discovered the beauty of the I Know You Know predicament. I think we should try and find something else out there to create suspects from instead of only building off Ventyl’s roleclaiming. Lynching Matrim isn’t worth it at this point. Without writeup hints it’s hard to tell what our Radiants are up to. Perhaps our Dustbringer/Skybreaker has a suspicion they can act upon?
  4. Stoneward confirmed! I more read Mat as Village for claiming, but it’s hard to tell. Being squired by a Villager is NAI, methinks
  5. Yeah, I fell for that Brute bait hard, but I also thought Pyro wasn’t in any real danger and I wanted to cause some chaos to draw attention away from Mist. And I wanted PMs gone... and I didn’t retract the action in time when I realized Pyro was the spy... I guess I did do a really good job causing chaos
  6. True. I had just thought at the end that I’d convinced everyone Karnage was the Kandra, but turns out I was a lot less inconspicuous than I thought I had been... At least you missing Pyro vindicates it somewhat. And you thought I was Elim, not Kandra, if I got that from the Elim doc right
  7. Village!Devotary. Or leaning that way. I don’t know if it says much towards Gears. The Elims could be protecting Elim!Gears from being lynched, or they could be trying to frame Village!Gears by protecting them. It’s hard to tell. Ventyl flipping Village, that can help with a few people’s alignments. But as far as I can see the vote manip just tells us someone used vote manip.
  8. What about the one with me? ... I still don’t know what to feel about that.
  9. However, if the Elim didn’t have time to recind it, ie if, oh I don’t know, Village!Devotary voted very late to break the tie, then the action would go through needlessly. People can’t always be on right at rollover. Which is why I don’t think the Elims knew / were planning on Devotary’s vote, and thus left their action to wipe a vote from Gears. It’s at least enough to make a lean towards Village. ... now if Devotary had voted Gears and re-made a tie, that would have been interesting.
  10. So if Lafay is alive at this point... Faleast has done some wacky worldhopping across time. Huh. Well, Devotary, I don’t like it when people decide the lynch at the last minute, for obvious reasons. But assuming that the vote manip was an Elim (Windrunner?), then I think that Devotary is leaning more Village due to the redundance of Elim!Devotary voting and the vote manip. Plus the Elims wasted a vote manip. Other than that, I don’t know what to do with Gears. I think that vote manip is more likely a frame (perhaps with Elim!Devotary?).
  11. I know. But what I’m saying is I don’t think Elbereth did. I think she missed the claim. THIS is why I don’t want to lynch Ventyl that much. Village or Elim, his actions don’t make much sense, and I read that as Village-y. That being said, I think the Elims will try and manip at least one vote, so having a tie is not preferable. I’d like to go one way or the other.
  12. I assume you mean this post? Well for one thing, I wholeheartedly agree that mental illness sucks and should not be a thing. I briefly wondered if it should be blue text but I’m not pushing that far (especially on mobile...) I agree with Gears that Elim!Mat claiming squire doesn’t make any sense unless he got told to do so to save Ventyl. So I read Matrim as Village at this point. I think without the info of the Squire claim, Mat has been kinda suspicious as a “reasonless” defender of Ventyl. But I still think Ventyl is the more suspicious of the two in any case. Elbereth is my third Elim read after Ventyl and Gears, but I can’t tell if that’s just her style and my awful read skills. Also, Pyro, did you vote on Mat because you’re suspicious of Elbereth... for voting on Mat?
  13. ...I think so. I had just... well, I had been saying that Gears’ way of talking was hard to understand, and then he says “decision matrix based on the 2 axis” and my brain short circuted . I get what his lynch-or-not-to-lynch analysis was, but I just had no clue what that meant.
  14. Uh... ... aside from whatever that matrix means, your argument makes more sense. But even if lynching a Village!Ventyl isn’t “that bad”, it’s still not preferable. (I missed something else you said, so it does make more sense than I had thought.)
  15. Non-sequitur, you say... *Looks up what non-sequitur means* *Spends 10 minutes looking at comics* *Realizes he has a post to make* ...Perhaps? But I still find it odd to have “Ventyl and I could both be Village. Let’s lynch Ventyl!” to be an unusual contrast in statements, even if it’s not meant to be a correlation. Also, Ventyl’s vote on you is easily explained as self-preservation, which shouldn’t be a main reason to lynch anybody. You are still the main lynch alternative. How they speak is definitely part of it. Gears’ formality is something new to me, especially due to being an Elim in the QF where my analysis was biased to say the least. But I’m also seeing suspicion in how they try to steer the lynch and their apparent contradictions in statements.
  16. Brightlord Faleast stared at the squabling travelers. They had put up two individuals who claimed to be Radiants, heading to the city of Urithiru to sanctuary. The man Galatar, the purported Bondsmith who had used his abilities to save his life in yesterday’s brawl. And Brightlady Valas Etteax. Edgedancer. Lighteyes of an obviously high dahn. And wife of the man he had murdered. Lafay. He hadn’t seen or heard of the Willshaper since the People’s Republic of Elendel finally took root in Scadrial. Lafay had opposed it, and he had killed him for it. He had. Faleast, not AraRaash. At the time of the man’s death Faleast’s bones were already worn by the kandra, but the plot to kill him had been started by the real, living Faleast, and his Shadow made sure to finish it. And he had enjoyed it. AraRaash and Faleast were almost indistinguishable at that point, but Faleast had still been strong. He had enjoyed rousing the mob against Lafay. He has enjoyed watching Elandra being killed by Kynedath and killing Kynedath in return, regardless of that Coinshot’s interference. He had enjoyed planning the hunt for Reginald, until... Until Pyria. That had turned enjoyment into revulsion, and yet he could not muster that revulsion into regret. And now, the dead man’s wife was suspected of being a part of the Diagram, of being a murderer. It was so similar to his own past. Lafay or Valas, Loyalist or Diagrammist, Willshaper or Edgedancer, what did it matter? History was repeating itself, and Faleast wanted no part of it. That isn’t your choice to make, AraRaash’s voice whispered. She’s a suspect, and she will need to be dealt with if that suspicion bears fruit. And we may be the best to do the deed. No, Faleast thought, I think you would be. It’s not the- Someone stood up, yelling at the crowd that had turned in anger to Brightlady Valas. “Wait! She tells the truth! She has squired me with her powers!” Faleast smiled. Perhaps we won’t have to do it this way after all. ... Okay, lets see where we stand now. I’m a little off-put by Pyro for defending Ventyl on a “mistaken” premise and now wanting his lynch, although it reads more odd than Elim. Matrim being the squire is a gambit that I think will keep my vote off Ventyl for now - although @Ventyl confirming that Mat’s the squire would be nice (just to get it on the record). And I think Gears has been pushing Ventyl’s and TJ’s lynches too much, and being contradictory in his pushing as well. For example: While I agree with the basic premise that Elim!Ventyl could squire Village!Mat to pocket him, this post makes no sense. You state that Ventyl could be village alongside you, but then say we should lynch Ventyl immediately after you flip Village? Why? Maybe I’m reading too much into this, but I want to do a readthrough of Gears’ posts.
  17. My “questions” were whether or not Ventyl squired or used his stormlight, which he claimed was misunderstanding the rules, and from what someone said earlier (in this thread, find it if you want but it might be an accidental claim so I’d rather not out them further) I’m inclined to believe such a mixup is possible. And, I’ve already gotten too involved in the TJ-Ventyl disagreements. I don’t want to fully commit to one side until people understand that there’s multiple explanations, instead of just lynch Ventyl or lynch TJ. TL:DR, I think Ventyl is very suspicious, but that doesn’t mean I think TJ is exonorated. Ventyl’s my strongest suspicion, then Gears, then... Elbereth? I need to look st the pseudo-active people like TW. And I’m still hesitant to lynch Ventyl on shoddy role reasoning... again.
  18. I’m suspicious of Ventyl, but I’m having trouble seeing how the Elims could let him be that suspicious. There’s no real way to prove or disprove what he’s been saying. But reading an inactive as slight Village just adds more to the pot... @Fifth Scholar Gears, making lynch chains isn’t generally a good idea. TJ and Ventyl are mutually very suspicious of each other: that doesn’t mean they have opposing alignments. Just because a Ventyl lynch flips Village doesn’t mean TJ is Elim, it just means we have to look more carefully at who voted where and make a decision from there.
  19. It’s less that I think Elim!Gears leads to Elim!Joe, but that Elim!Gears means your vote on Striker is less of a clear. Although if your vote lands us an Elim!Gears lynch then that speaks for itself on your alignment.
  20. This is a bit of hodge-podge analysis Elbereth: Was the first person to interact with Striker. Wants Lightweaver to prioritize PMs over protecting. Doesn’t like poke votes (NAI). Thought that Ventyl was at first being too odd to be Elim. Values PM communication, got confused by Striker’s claiming and counterclaiming advice. Tends to be defensive of self. Suspicious of TJ’s vote on me and “uninterested” in a D1 Striker lynch. Had a long post explaining her playstyle when I mentioned it irked me (note: playstyle is pressure and voting on whoever is most suspicious at any point, which I think is fine). Upon Striker flipping Elim, said she was glad and suprised, and read TJ as Elim or at least very confusing. Analysis: I THINK Slight Village, but it’s hard to read an unusual playstyle on my first try. I’d like to see some specific reads. Matrim: Has had reason to be inactive, but has also done little to contribute. Initially wary of Ventyl’s role hinting/claiming (and for good reason...). Admits he usually reads Ventyl as Elim. Got confused by Striker’s counterclaim scenario, aided by Sart’s explanation. Skeptical of Elim!TJ D1. Eternum explained Striker’s counterclaim theory. Didn’t want to guaruntee lynch Ventyl D2-3 as Gears proposed, but also didn’t like Ventyl’s proposed squiring of Elbereth. Voted Striker to avoid Ventyl/TJ lynch, and decided late D1 to keep his vote there. Upon Striker flipping Elim even more sure of Village!TJ. Analysis: Slight Village, but not a ton. Araris: First to vote on Ventyl. “I want to kill you, not get you to post.” Doesn’t value Role Analysis, but stresses the importance of recognizing different opinions versus Elim manipulation. Correctly saw Sart as NOT distancing from Striker. Read Radiant!Ventyl as more Village and retracted his vote (gasp!) and placed on Devotary for being overly neutral, then moved to TJ to actually have an impact in the lynch. Upon Striker flipping Elim suspected Gears and Truthwatcher. Analysis: Null/Slight Village, but it seems like Araris being Araris. Depends on how Gears may flip if applicable: I feel a little biased for Araris due to he being my Kandra mentor. Joe: A deciding vote on Striker, but I’m still a little scared of a bus. Has mostly been quiet and has been poked by Ventyl prior. Doesn’t suspect Gears. Wanted Gears/the Village to give Ventyl a bit of a break. Analysis: Strong Village, but beware bussing. (I’m paranoid, what do you expect) especially if Gears/Ventyl flip Elim. Joe/Kynedath/Pyro/Devotary/Eternum/Mage/Lahilt/Mint/Orlok/Truthwatcher/a few others: not very many posts to analyze, guys... null reads, but I hope we don’t have so many people only partially active/contributing. (I know some have been more active then others, but still.) Also, Ventyl, for now. I’m going to step out of this debate until things clear up. I’m a little more suspicious of Gears for advocating TJ AND Ventyl lynches. Other than that I’ll have to see in the morning.
  21. *Facepalm* that’s what I get from reading D1 for analysis and not D2 for actually playing the game...
  22. If he did, I missed it, but that’s the most likely set. I would hope he wouldn’t claim Dustbringer...
  23. I’ll just say, I wanted the thread to know who Ventyl’s squire was because it would clear Ventyl much better than saying “I squired” with no evidence. It would give us another target for suspicion if either Ventyl or squire flipped Elim, and it creates a IKYK situation for Elim!Ventyl’s squire being either a fellow Elim or a Villager. But I also wanted it to be the squire’s decision to out themselves, not Ventyl’s and certaintly not mine. I thought I had said that somewhere (perhaps in a different post? I don’t remember), but I might as well say it now. Whether they feel comfortable outing themselves depends on a lot of things, particularly the surge they got and (in my opinion) whether their possible surges are known. And, now that Ventyl claims an Abrasion user, that possible surge pool shrunk from 10 to a probable set of 3. So I wouldn’t advise a squire claiming at this point, but I stand by that it would help clear Ventyl and possibly his squire as well.
