    Spirit Schrödinger wondered if this new universe was the one that they had attempted to rebuild or a different one in the multiverse.

    Poller finished filling the jars of cadmium metal, hollered “600 chrysts” then spun to look at the drawing the man had offered. Nothing too outlandish, just a vial with a few leaves around the top. So not a concealed weapon, but something to be paraded around. That was interesting. Most metalborn that Poller had seen didn’t like revealing their abiliities, although he by nature was an exception to his own rule. “My name? Oh, that one’s easy. Alrik,” the man said. The new boy kicked at the floor and said “Ben” - or something like that, it was hard to hear for some reason. Poller accepted the paper and scribbled ‘Alrik. Decorative metal vial. Gift for a lady. Unsure on metal or if he wants more than one.’ Then he added the pairs names and Ben’s cadmium order on the register as the boy paid. Cassie wanted to keep track of who was buying what sort of metals, probably to get more “regulars” to come. He looked up at Alrik as the man continued his order. “I think Cassie can make it. I might be able to, but I’m not great with precision metalworking yet. Do you want the vial to be glass or be some metal? Do you want real leaves, or metal forged ones, or Soulcast ones?” He paused, feeling something odd in the air, then jotted down the list of metals: brass, iron, pewter, gold, electrum. “And how much of each-” Another man burst in, moving straight toward the counter. Poller sighed inwardly. Another one. :-:-:-:-:-: 600 chrysts. 600 rusting chrysts. Byron gulped, hoping assorted spheres, boxings, and other currencies would add up to the right amount. Pickpockets didn’t tend to frequent the moneychanger’s office. Byron sheepishly gave his name as Ben, then walked over and dropped a sapphire broam and a handful of chrysts next to the register. He felt his field bumping a few things within the desk, then the shopkeeper himself. Byron winced and checked his bubble’s strength. It was running low, but not as low as he would like around so much aluminum. Then another customer walked in, asking for... oh. Rusts. :-:-:-:-:-: Poller could tell that this would need to be done in a hurry. The man wasn’t running, but he moved with purpose and needed a lot of metal. Aluminum, specifically. He started talking as he took Ben’s money - an odd combination of currencies- and set a few chrysts as change. “Umm... oh dear. Cassie’s not here to Soulcast any, but we should have some stock sheets and blocks I can forge to sheets. Let me check what we got.” He started to run toward a door in the back of the shop, then hesitated and turned back. “Alrik, if you want to write down those specifications, that would be a great help for making an order. Ben, your change is there and you’re free to go, but this gentleman might need your help. And you sir,” he finished, pointing to the man in such a rush, “get ready to carry a lot of metal.” And he ran into the storeroom. Time to find some aluminum.

    Schrödinger decided to interfere from his quantum state, and created a new alternate vein of Style nicknamed Stÿlë. However, Stÿlë was highly unstable and hard to type.

    “Yes!” Cassie said, a little too quickly. “I mean, yes, let’s go.” She fidgeted with her Soulcaster one more time, then walked out the door in the general direction Lord was gesturing.

    Suddenly the voice of Schrodinger echoed across the planet, as if the scientist had momentarily dropped from his newfound quantum state using the power of a single bar of cell service, saying: “Did you ever hear the story of Darth Plageuis the Wise? I thought not. It's not a story the Jedi would tell you. It's a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life... He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful... the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. It's ironic he could save others from death, but not himself.” “It’s also ironic that Nameless could save others from death, but not himself. But that’s besides the point.”

    Schrödinger volunteered, and then accelerated his particles into a new quantum state. He hoped that’s what the melting feeling was. (I’ll be offline for a few days... so... for now Schrödinger will be in a mysterious form and state, unless someone wants to command him.) Edit: days, not weeks.... sigh

    “Hah!” Schrödinger laughed. “You seek to weaponize gravity against me! Newton! Hawking! Let us show this oft-misquoted man a thing or two.” I now really like the concept of scientists gaining powers over the things they discover. And aren’t we supposed to be rebuilding the universe again?

    “Okay, this may be more complicated than I thought,” Schrödinger said. He snapped his fingers a few times.

    Schrödinger had tried creating a world where everything worked into the theoretical quantum physics. He still didn’t know where it went.

    “The bad news is that someone ignored the little alert to back up the universe to an external hard drive for about eight months. The good news is that I think between all my quantum states and you obviously capable fellows, I think we have a 97.6% chance of fixing it.”

    “Oh, hello! You’re awake!” Schrödinger said. "I have good news, bad news, and simultaneously good-and-bad news. Which should be first?”

    Schrodinger decided the universe would fix itself, and that they would all probably notice any invading warships or rips through space, so he grabbed some popcorn and launched himself forward a week in time.

    Schrödinger returned to the Nameless one's sleeping form. "I have good news, bad news, and simultaneously good-and-bad news."

    "A Titan stepped on my cats!" Schrödinger said. "I think my actions were a reasonable reaction. Besides, the field has a localized affect. It should only have annihilated a sphere with a lightyear's radius in the fabric of the universe." He put a finger to his chin. "Then again, time and space are meaningless, so... let me check one thing," he said to the sleeping individual, then quantum tunneled to the nearest galaxy. "I'll be back!"

    And uncrossed. ... this is getting out of hand. Schrödinger allowed Nameless as an exception to his quantum distortion. "What is it you want from me... er... who are you?"

    No kidding, I've been copy-pasting it... plus I get the fancy o for historical accuracy. Everything besides cats and tacs and a few choice items fell into oblivion, or un-oblivion, depending on which quantum state destabilized first.

    "Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Schrödinger said. "I just gave you all the gift of semi-immortality! Sure, you could possibly be in agonizing pain for the next few years, but it wears off! Trust me, I know!" He gulped. "Besides, it was that guy who attacked you!" Schrödinger thought this might be a good time to become here and not here.

    Which were simultaneously squashed and unsquashed, which made them slightly squished and very mad.

    About all of the cats were simultaneously saber-toothed and non-saber-toothed, thanks to Schrödinger's influence over them. Unfortunately for the cats, this only delivered a partial allergic reaction, as the quantum mechanics broke down and failed to make the Giant Krkaneator both allergic and non-allergic, and being saber-toothed did not make them the large size of the traditional saber-toothed tiger. The cats also simultaneously had and didn't have Glassshardblades, which made them much less effective. I'm trying to enter this as Schrodinger, the master of cats and quantum mechanics, but who knows how that will go... probably fantastic and horrible simultaneously Aaaaaand Ninja'd!!

    "I must say, this tea is delicious," Schrödinger said, "but at the same time it lacks taste." Meanwhile the decapitated cats began to ripple in space, being simultaneously dead and alive, decapitated and... capitated. Edit: and again I start a new page!

    I see cats, I see chaos, I have one sole instinct... A shield of probability appeared in front of the cats, blocking the possibility of attack. A figure appeared behind it, smiling. Schrödinger had arrived.

    The boots of butt-kicking look very incredible, but whoever's wearing them has some very oddly shaped kneecaps. But also Munchkin. 8/10. I am a firework.
