    LIMBO

As memory trickles into my mind, and new beings show up into the nothingness I become overwhelmed. Hence I create a solitary bubble of peace. A brook, trees, wildflowers. I know that I will soon have to leave, but this bubble would give me a moment to recover.

"I apologize for causing you inconvenience and potential awkwardness." I gaze around, noting an odd egg shape to our empty plane. What is an egg? Fragments of memory enter my mind. "Who are all of you, and how did we come to be." So much potential in emptiness. What to do with it?

He realized that there were no rules. Nothing at all in fact. Does this mean that I can promise I am lying, and not contradict myself? An interesting thought, and something, despite his relatively short existence, that he had always wanted to try. "To all those within the sound of my voice," He shouted into the void, "I swear unto you that I am currently speaking falsehoods!" Existence did not fracture at the contradiction. Mildly disappointing.
  4. Couple of questions, in case I get the soul forger role. What does it mean to submit an action? And to get the benefits of each essence mark, do you have to declare to the GM or something that you are stamping yourself beforehand, or can you do it afterwards? For example if you are chosen to be killed, but have the urchin essence mark complete will you die if you haven't pre-stamped yourself or will it automatically activate when necessary? Sorry if none of those made sense. I can clarify if needed.
  5. I have no evidence to back this up, but I would postulate that it would probably be glowing since it is highly invested, but it wouldn't be a spren. Rather it might look like a more mechanical grouping of investiture. This is assuming you can see it at all. Counter question: What do spren shardblades look like, when summoned in the physical realm and a lightweaver/elsecaller/willshaper is looking into shadesmar?

    NaNoWriMo

Lets say your previous days word counts are all in column B, would the "cells containing all previous word count" be just B2:B, so that you include the entire column? And this formula is slowly increasing your word count goal to ease you into writing more?

Is it just a formula or something? Please share.

    NaNoWriMo

Haha. I am not signing up this year. Last year nearly killed me. Don't get me wrong, it was great for me as a writer, but between cross country, school, and work I was sacrificing needed sleep for it. I am definitely going to keep writing. I'm nearly done with college application essays, so I can focus back on something more fun. This year I will probably set a ridiculously low goal like 100 words a day in order to start forming a habit. I'll probably keep working on that story I posted a few weeks back and have The Shard keep me accountable instead of NaNoWriMo.
  9. Ok. I can’t really think of anything right now. I’ll probably have questions as situations come up. Actually, what does it mean that PMs are open?
  10. I’ll play. Not sure on a character name yet. @Matrim's Dice can I PM you with any questions as this game is a bit more complex than the only other one I have played?
  11. I need to reread Reckoners. It's been about 2 years. Wow. Another moment: The scene in Shattered Lens when Alcatraz tells you to act out the following scene. And then there is a scene later in the book when he specifically tells you to NOT act it out.
  12. I like when Alloy of Law mentions that it was The Lord Mistborn who gave Elendel his name. That part made me--a teenage boy mind you--almost cry. It was just a hearkening back to era 1 and how much Spook looked up to his role models: Kelsier, Elend, and Vin. Elend represented all of the things Spook wished he could become during the original trilogy and finally did become after the Catecendre. I dunno. Thinking about it is almost making me cry. Rust. I didn't discover this until a reread so I feel like it's under appreciated

    Forigins

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that. I have put them all on youtube. I always forget about that one because it doesn't automatically put the RSS feed on there and I have to do it manually, but if you search Forigins on youtube, it should be the first result.
  14. It might be possible with whichever spike it is that grabs investiture. (nicrosil?) You would grab the F-Pewter flavored investiture from them and then could stick it into someone else to use. There might be some identity shenanigans though. I agree that a typical strength spike wouldn't grab the enhanced strength because it isn't part of your spirit web.

Approximately a year ago, a friend and I had an idea for a podcast: what if we told the origin stories of everyday items, historical figures, and cultural phenomena? But what if the origins we told were not the real origins, but the fake origins of these things. For a while we let that stew in our minds, then this summer we began work. Now we have four episodes, with one more coming out in about a week. I would appreciate it if you all checked it out. It is really fun to make, and I hope it is almost as fun for those who listen. Thanks! You can find it here: Forigns. You can also find it on Apple podcasts, Spotify, or Amazon music. and its not like I get 1.5 cents every time someone listens, and therefore have a monetary motivation for asking you to listen.

  17. "Yes. Ironic," Apothem had no idea what was ironic. He was too new to this. The other members had years of experience. Years wasn't necessarily a lot. The Set wasn't an old organization, compared to some of the religions. But years of experience was much more than Apothem had. "So, do you have any hints of what this meeting is for? I haven't heard a thing."
  18. I haven't posted here for a while. College application essays have been taking all of my writing energy. But I still have been thinking about the exposition. If anyone has any ideas on how to expose your characters without 1) getting into the main conflict before it is ready and 2) having it be dull and nothing happens.
  19. @Lahilt Okay, my reads. I'll guess I'll just go through the player list. TJ, has not posted since the beginning of day one. Not sure what to think of that. It could be suspicious, but I feel like an elim would be more active because they had an important role. Matrim's Dice, is voting for me, so that biases me a bit, but beyond that they don't seem suspicious. All their logic for their actions seems sound. They claimed to not know about the elim doc, but that could be a clever ruse. From the previous games I have looked at, Mat seems like a master so anything's possible. (this game is turning me paranoid) The Unknown Order, has posted sparsely, but consistently. This could be the result of a busy schedule so I won't read into it too much. They would have voted me D1, but claim to have forgotten. What to make of that? No idea. Wanting me dead could mark them elim, because I believe the elims are encouraging the vote on me to cast suspicion off of them. Or the forgetting could have been on purpose because they are vil and want me alive, or are elim and for some reason don't want me dead. Araris, on D1 used my flawed math as a reason to be suspicious. I did read my GM PM, but legitimately did not think through the probability in that post. The point of that post wasn't to calculate probabilities, it was to get a random vote out there to see what happened. They kind of seized on that a lot and kicked off the exe Mage bandwagon. Archer, made a good point during the first night that we do need to kill someone because the easiest way for elims to win would be by stalling every vote. I agree with this point, I just don't agree with the subject of it: me. Seeing from their point of view, it would make sense to vote me, so I don't suspect them too much. However anything that seems unsuspicious could be suspicious in and of itself. Paranoia. Ashwastaken, not sure what to think. What does it mean to "claim elim"? Going by gut feeling I don't strongly suspect them, but I have no evidence whatsoever to back that up. Azmine King, like unknown order forgot to switch to me D1. Same logic there. They now are very much wanting to get a lynch. I get that, because it is the only thing we can do as a village, I just wish it weren't me. Gut feeling wants to suspect them, but rationality doesn't. Make what you will of that. Danex, one of the ones that would have switched to me but forgot. They actually said they maybe would have switched to me. I think that they, like the rest of us, realize the importance of needing to kill for information, but originally they didn't want it to be me. They now are voting for me, but that might just be for a consensus. I don't know. My self-preservation bias is showing itself again. Lahilt, at this point all the different players are blurring together in my head. They haven't done anything outright suspicious. I think they are voting for me, but would be willing to switch if someone more suspicious was presented. They don't necessarily suspect me, but realize that we need to do something and get information. I think that's everyone. Tani is dead, not sure what to make of that, and I don't suspect myself. These reads are probably wildly inaccurate, and not what you are looking for, but I hope they clarify some things about my thought process.
  20. If my math is correct (it probably isn't), then one of the elims is voting for me. I think there are 7 votes for me and 10 of us. Assuming I am vil (I believe this but you might not.) then that leaves only two people not voting me. With three eliminators one of them is voting me. You could argue that they jumped on the mage bandwagon to avoid suspicion, but then that would incriminate the person who most recently voted for me. Or someone who voted earlier when they saw it as inevitable. By this (most likely flawed) logic, I am not an eliminator. Granted this is based on the assumption that I am not an eliminator which makes it circular reasoning. And to win we probably need a kill today and there isn't really anyone else that everyone could get behind. But do consider my logic. If at all possible I would rather not die.
  21. Stating the obvious fact that you shouldn’t kill me. Yes if you exed me you would be closer to finding the elims but you would be even closer if you got an actual elim, which I believe Azmine to be.
  22. Matrim's dice, you raise a fair point. ashwastaken was quite an active player on the first day and the fact that we haven't seen them yet on day two doesn't tell us much. I once again unvote for them. I see that all of you are turning against me, but have you stopped to consider that this might be what the elims want? They could be trying to corrupt the minds of the village, causing you to think that my lack of experience is suspiciousness. Killing another villager would just put them closer to a majority and give them another chance to kill at night unchallenged. This is objectively and indisputable my first time playing this game. That is beside the point though. I may seem contradictory and wavering, but that is simply because when I am presented with sufficient evidence I reject my null hypothesis and replace it with an alternative. I am not trying to act suspicious. Therefore, I would plead with you all to turn your votes away from me and toward one of my more ardent persecutors: Azmine King.
