  1. I’m listening to a lot of progressive instrumental rock, like Plini and Intervals Awesome guitar music without vocals!
  2. So we aren’t getting NEARLY enough Raoden, Hrathen, and Lightsong love here. I think Lightsong and Jasnah would be hilarious. Raoden and Elend- really interesting political discussion, Elend being the realist, Raoden the idealist Raoden and Sazed would be interesting Raoden and Kaladin Pre-big battle (does that have a name)- Hrathen and pre-ascension Rashek- fascinating conversation about power and religion Hrathen and Jasnah - really interesting religious debate
  3. I’m a (very bad) 3rd chair trombone in a Jazz Big Band. Never been a big fan of the classical stuff, and I want to play the stuff I listen to (which, to be fair, is now mostly funk and jazz-pop, not straight jazz).
  4. I liked brotherband quite a bit better. I haven’t read royal ranger or anything past caldera, but my general opinion is that he got better as a writer and as a result, when he wasn’t shoehorned into writing the same characters I think he really grew and was able to just craft a better story. Haven’t read it in forever, though. My favorites are Battle for Skandia and Nihon-ja. For some reason Brotherband always blends into each other for me, so I don’t have a favorite.
  5. I love fencing! Also: Sarene, fencing rep of the cosmere
  6. Yeah, because Elantris had a perfect society, there would be no need to change what was already working. If there was strife, then there might be a split and lingual drift, as te previous commenter said, would likely occur.
  7. Don’t plan on trying Goodkind anytime soon Anyway, I recently read Assassin’s Apprentice by Robin Hobb (4.25/5, very good) Foundryside by Robert Jackson Bennett (4.5/5 highly recommended for Sanderfans) Kings of the Wyld by Nicholas Eames (4.3/5, good solid fun, def reread worthy) The City of Brass (3.5/5, good, but upon retrospection the characters can get kind of annoying) Red Sister (3/5. I feel so bad rating this so low, because so much of it was so good, but the ending was just not it for me. It’s not too long, so maybe I’ll reread it before I send it back to the library to really get a feel for it. I was pretty distracted while reading it, to be sure. I’ve since gotten a bit better at staying focused.) Currently reading Senlin Ascends by Josiah Bancroft. This book is really enjoyable in a really unique way. It’s such an original concept with such well realized characters that I don’t know how I’m not going to love it when I’m done.
  8. Hrathen and Raoden are where it’s at. I love Hrathen’s arc and I love Raoden’s personality.
  9. Love your signature! It took me until the end to figure it out. I’m glad to know that not everyone hates Kvothe!

:D for all his flaws, that lad can turn a phrase!

  10. It has been described that although 16% of Scadrians have allomantic ability, only 1/1000 have snapped. Therefore, to procure more allomancers than average, it seems to me like the Set is torturing the offspring of the experiment to induce their Snapping. Otherwise, their operation would have to be enormous (20000+ kids to get just 20 allomancers) if it were to actually work. We know anguish can often cause Snapping, so it seems to me like the Set would forcibly induce that anguish to get more kids to Snap.
  11. As a matter of fact... I made some dandelion syrup today. I took dandelion petals, boiled them to a tea, and then reduced them with sugar and honey until it was a syrupy consistency. I’m very excited to try it on pancakes!
  12. I am proud to be a boredboi, a member of the greatest of all worldhopping guilds Hoc erat odiosis
  13. The Emperor’s Soul is the best Brando book don’t judge me
