Vale looks vaguely worried about the implications of that. Vale watches Herate throughout this exchange, noting how she responds to Psyder. He doesn't seem repulsed by the idea himself, but it definitely isn't a pleasant one. Chrysler watches the exchange, although she isn't paying too much attention. She's always been more about the details. Vale can worry about the big strategy. She'll listen so she can fill him in later, though. -
As Martin completed the fire rune, a jet of fire weakly shot out. "Good first try" Vale dropped his blade. "I can't believe it." Seeing the metal, he asked "What is that?"

Will grimaced. "Nothing good. Hopefully we won't see her again. Let us talk of kinder things."

Vale watched and a soft "wait" escaped his lips. But he couldn't place why he had started to care, only just now.

"Good. The prosecution may begin with their opening remarks." A hatch on the bow of the ship opened up and a cannon rose from the underbelly of the ship. Jay dashed back down to the deck. "That should do some damage if we can get the thing in its line of sight." The ship shook again as the monster rammed it under the ice sheet. Tentacles battered at the ice from underneath.

Alein walked out of the room he had slept in, shrugging on his coat. It changed colors a few times before settling on an emerald green.

A screech sounds from beneath the water and more tentacles come out of the water, reaching towards the boat

A tentacle broke from the surface of the water and latched onto the side of the boat. The boat began tipping towards that side. "I don't care what you do, make sure it doesn't sink the ship! I'll find the captain and see if he has any weaponry equipped to deal with these things!"

Jay sat up on the roof of the boat, having leaped up there so he could... well, he could admit it to himself. He was anxious to see land, because that would mean he could see Janice again. He needed to apologize. It was all his fault all those terrible things had happened to her. Of course, he also needed to admit to himself this might be a trap. So someone needed to keep a look out in case... What was that? "Guys, there's something in the water!" "May Hitlera watch over us all as we seek to find his will, in justice and light, may it be so." The voice sounds out from the back of the courtroom from a herald, sent before the judge to announce him. "Today, the Wandering God puts his trust in Lord Derival, who is acting as judge on behalf of the nation of Raodea." The lord walks through the door and past the jury to his seat, a minimalist chair made out of wood. He carries a walking staff that is stylized and decorated with gold, which symbolizes Hitlera's presence. The judge's seat is opposite both the jury and both lawyer's seats, forming a triangle of the three parties. Lord Derival is an imposing figure, more than 6 feet tall, and with ram's horns curling back behind his ears. He was a Guardian until his father died and he inherited his house, which was more than 25 years ago. Rumor has it that he won the Halcyon Festival by smashing his head through his opponent's shield. He hasn't lost any of his bulk or warrior's demeanor since then, but he has a reputation of being fair and level-headed, and his island is often cited as the most equal and diverse place to live in Raodea. "All right, then, let's see what we have here. Are the prosecution and defense prepared?"

Will held out a hand to her and bowed. The music playing was fitting for such a ball, regal and majestic, but not overstated and garish. It acted more as an accent to the dancing rather than a conduit for it.

Metal spikes erupted out of the ground around the fox, pointing inward like infantry expecting a cavalry charge. The fires around it started to dim, although they would still feel just as hot.

"Oh, so you are the king's betrothed? I don't know how I missed such a thing." He puts his hand to his forehead as if to condemn himself for such an oversight, but his eyes are still sparkling beneath his sapphire mask. "I am Will Dellré, heir to my house. I would be honored indeed if you would, and if the king has any objections I will answer to them as befits my honor."
