Jay nods. "That's a good point. We're both going to be really slowed down." The train's bell can be heard in the distance, and people start crowding towards the tracks.

"Gah!" Alex takes a deep breath and tries to compose himself. "I... I need a wand, and I don't know how to get one. You're the only magical people I've been able to talk to, and I was led here by fate for some reason. I can only assume it meant you."

@Bearer of all agonies Jay shoulders past people and up to the ticket counter. He comes back to the group with a handful of tickets. "Train gets here in just a bit"

As the boat docks and a bunch of people who are finally starting to calm down pile off onto the docks, Jay starts limping after the crowd. "Come on guys, the train station is right next to the docks"

The captain's voice crackles over a speaker on deck, jerking everyone out of their reverie. "We will be docking in ten minutes. Please make sure you have all of your luggage, children, or other loseable personal effects. Thank you." Jay starts. "All right, well, let's get ready to go find a bus to one of the outer settlements."

The woman had left the room and Miera let herself relax from the straight-backed, high-chinned proper pose she had adopted in her presence, and looked around the room again, this time to try and see if she could find out anything about her... captors? Other than that they liked blinking and beeping machines -
A wand? Alex strained to hear the rest of what they were saying

Why were two wizards talking about newspapers? Alex made sure he was out of sight of the alley before finding a spot where he could hear most of what they were saying over the crowd

Alex stumbles out of the alleyway. He'd just found a witch! But... obviously questioning her about where to get a wand was a bad idea. He needed to find a spot to look into the crystal ball without getting stabbed

Jay nods. "No guarantees, but I think he's your best chance." He looks up over the railing of the ship. "I think we're almost to the coast. Should be maybe an hour or so. Then it will be a short ride to where we need to go"

Jay smiles. "We're going there right now. Medrano knows things he shouldn't know. If anyone knows where to find that kind of information, he will"
