"If there's nothing else, we'll be going now." Sir Nathaniel (who was still on his horse) beckoned the soldiers and Minuet.
She shook her head, digging her feet into the ground. "No, I'm staying."
"Come now, Lady Minuet. You don't honestly believe that they'd want you here if they knew your Grace." Sir Nathaniel laughed. "No, the only one who wants you is your uncle. He doesn't just want you, he needs you. You're family. And honestly, I'd prefer it if I didn't have to hurt anyone today. So here's the deal. You come with me and I won't tell them your Grace so you can come back when you inevitably run away again."
Minuet paused, considering. "Two questions. What am I supposed to do this time, and how likely is my escape?"
"Lord Leggerio assumed that your escape meant you were ready to work again, so you won't be going back to the academy. We're to take you back to the castle, where he can tell you himself. So your escape's unlikely until you've done a couple of things for him."
