Vivace sat on a high branch near the portal as a clouded leopard, tail twitching. The others had better hurry up, or she'd have to leave without them. Chorale would protest, but it would be better than being dead.

"Corwin!" Cadenza sent a sheen of ice across the pavement and rose to her skate blades in one graceful movement, leading to a step. Soon, she was swiftly gliding toward Corwin. "Stop right there!"
