Cruz considered. "Let's save this island for last. Preferably we can start a few islands over. I'll allow you access to my variety of weapons and such; prove to me you are a capable assassin. Take out the nobles there, and then I'll help you."

Not sure when this was done, but with the addition of the Time Machine and everything I've noticed that when you first visit the Coppermind the entire page will be blurred out and a very serious warning/pop-up will come up informing you of just how spoilery everything is. Proceed at your own risk stuff. -
The man stepped back in shock but was too late. The knife sunk deep through the man's throat and out the other side; the man gasped for breath, blood spilling out. "Come..." he croaks. The bear writhed on the ground and got back onto its feet. Suddenly, the glowing orange eyes vanished, and the bear whimpered on the ground. -♦- The man got hit by an orange light and the wound quickly began healing. Before Avren can react, the man vanishes, right where he's at.

The bear stops in its tracks and roars in rage, absolutely furious and in pain. It’s glowing eyes flash a bit and it hurls itself to the ground, extinguishing its fire. It moves to twist away. The man doesn’t notice Avren; and he’s muttering to himself. Something about fire? He seems to be unconcerned for the bear.

The bear roared and charged Ara’s illusion, barreling straight through it toward Orpheus and Minuet. Orpheus cursed and dived out of the way, unsheathing his knife. He was too slow, and the bear’s claw ripped straight through his clothing and dug into his stomach. ”By the gods!” Orpheus cried, plunging his knife towards the bear. But the bear had already refocused on the others.

Cruz considered. That was something he would be interested in. That son this morning hadn't been his first noble killed, and he didn't have a particular fondness for them. They had tried to pass anti-discrimination laws, but only the least important of them had passed. To spite the people. But... ruling all of Raodea? The people would resist. Never had one ruled over all islands. Perhaps one island would be enough for him. His island, his home. "You're going to have to show me you can actually help me do that. Just as he turned back to continue, a massive black bear with glowing orange eyes emerged from the surrounding greenery, towering even taller than Talnic. It gave a fearsome rawr that seemed to shake the ground.
