Perses yelled in pain as the nail bit into his shoulder. Teleportation? Rusts. He reflexively stored pain, weakening the pain of the nail to a dull ache. His lifesense was useful, allowing him to know where the small being was going to strike. Yet it didn’t help with his reflexes. Damn, the guy was fast. Perses burned his bronzesense even further, trying to detect the magic being used. He caught glimpses of something before the teleportation, but nothing useful. ”My fights not with you, rascal! It’s with the radiant. Get out of my way!” Perses took another bit of metal in the thigh. He had to stop doing this to himself. He stopped pushing and pulling. Leaving his metals burning, he stored his steelsense, plunging himself back into darkness. However, this darkness had accompanied him all his life. Keeping his other senses alert, he anticipated the attacks, slowly learning the attack pattern while taking inconsequential hits. His cloak was keeping the creature at bay. Good. ”That all you got, little mouse?”

Ah. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I honestly dunno. Whatever term you feel describes you the most, or whatever you jive with is what you should use. Past that advice, I’m struggling to think of something. @AonEne, good friend and queer, might you have thoughts?

Perses felt the radiant’s sincerity. In truth, the words had a good weight to them. However, he had misunderstood Perses’ motives. ”you’re right, in a way. I do seek to end the chaos of the Warrens. However, you’re wrong about one thing.” Perses burned his metals. ”I don’t need your help.” The room itself was littered with metal. Some were there originally, others were placed there intentionally. Metals of all kinds, from needles to knives to a random assortment of a variety of office supplies, flew at Eleos. Not all at once, no. From all directions, via push or pull, items from around the room darted in quick succession. In tandem, his cloak came to life. The tassles, with their bladed bone tips, began lashing out. Matching Perses’ chaotic attacks, they struck all around him, each blade seemingly acting in their own. Perses, heart pounding, grinned.

Honestly? I don’t really know. I’m a she/they gal, and I generally define myself as transfemme, and for the normies trans woman. Though I also do like me the term femmeby (as opposed to enby), though I dunno about the masc variant. Transmasc is always out there, but past that, I’m right there with ya brother (lest sib be the preferable tangential familial term)

Mind you, it is not a particularly significant affecting of plotlines. And it is certainly not going to be restricting your freedom to do with the information as you wish. It’s just planned on being a nice way to push the main plot into the endgame.

Btw I’m thinking that these final scenes are going to be wrapping up the episode. Of course not wrapping up the era, but just shifting threads and giving a chance for more interactions to happen. Would that be cool with everyone?

Phemus, Smokestack, Smokestack constabulary. ”Put ‘em in the solitary confinement cell. Station two men on the cell, but at the end of the hall. Give em rations like the rest, but nothing else! And whatever you do, don’t let anyone talk to them except for their lawyer. And that includes the guards you station!” Phemus had to be thorough. The rascal’s powers were unpredictable, but it needed people or objects to work. Without those, the fool’s staying put. The solitary confinement cell was on the opposite side of the constabulary from the standard cells. It was ten cubic feet of solid concrete, with only a barred window for light. Of course, there was a guard stationed along that perimeter, so nothing should get smuggled in that way. Hopefully. Sweating, Phemus sat down at his desk. He still couldn’t believe he caught the bastard. Now to keep em in there… @Lunamor @Stormlightsong @Longshot97

Perses rescinded his hand. Him? Work with radiants? Hold on. Radiants, wanting to work with him? Perses stepped back. “I’m sorry, what? You hear that I have killed numerous people, and plan to kill refugees if you don’t comply with my demands, and you want to work with me?” Perses just couldn’t wrap his head around it. ”what kind of Radiant are you?”

Oooo this is an interesting one. I mean, if there is a correlation, I suspect that they are stemming from the same source, not one causing another. What that source is, I have no idea. The most annoying thing about this is that we just know so little about bind points and Twinborn resonances :/. It’s always a possibility, but I don’t know how you would get evidence for it.

That’s all good for me! Plutus is an npc after all. We can just assume you got the Reckoner device the next morning, and it was given more power cells.
-
Also I’m still sorting some things out with @RoyalBeeMage, but I can always slip Perses in somewhere once he’s done with his scene, and I also have Chloris on the back burner. also @Longshot97 do you want to skip to the next morning for Plutus’ stuff, or do you want to do something in the meantime?

Lord Ruler but a chicken. The AU where everyone’s a chicken is eating today.

theory Hemalurgy, Bindpoints, and Spiritweb thoughts
Koloss17 replied to LightRinger's topic in Mistborn
So here’s the biggest wrinkle. Hemalurgy works at the spiritual level. And given that through the very nature of healing in the Cosmere, it seems clear that a difference in the physical realm does not necessarily correlate with a difference in a different realm. Cognitive identity might have something to do with this, but obviously that complicates things even further. If the person still sees that limb as part of them, then…maybe. But it’s getting into weird territory, and would obviously have to not heal (as healing in the Cosmere is about having the physical self match the cognitive and spiritual self). Inevitably, I think this question requires a deeper understanding of Hemalurgy. Maybe there’s a WoB on it (@alder24 summoning noises), but I don’t think we know exactly how the hemalurgic spiking of someone results in both a change of the physical and spiritual realms. If we knew that, this question would probably be a lot easier.- 9 replies

Woah woah woah. When?? This is the type of thing you need to clear with me, as it has to do with my character, and would very much be god modding.

Phemus froze, mid-sip. It took the man a solid ten seconds to process what he was witnessing with his own eyes. Asylum, the rascal that had eluded the entire precinct for years was taken in by a new-blooded radiant? Impossible. Phemus set his mug of coffee down. ”you’re hired.”

@RoyalBeeMage why is Eleos so scared of the name Perses? And what does he mean by “should be gone?”
-
Perses smiled. “Why, I’m Perses, Prince of the Alleys. The Mistwarrens are mine, and frankly, the Tin Street Mafia were overstaying their welcome. I’ve been working for the past few months to topple their empire here, and I’ve finally succeeded. I don’t think anyone will be missing them, anyways.” ”Speaking of,” Perses said, pacing behind the desk, “This is why I wanted you here.” He stopped. “See, your little refugee camp, while commendable, is on my turf. I find it frankly quite irritating that organizations like yours encroach onto Warrens space to avoid having to be on a specific district’s jurisdiction. And inevitably, given your radiant ways, I don’t think you folks can just offer shelter to those in need. Sooner or later, you’ll become a problem for me, and I would find that quite inconvenient.” ”So I want to make a deal. You scooch your operation a few blocks back, past the Sphere district border, and none of the refugees get hurt.” It felt useless threatening him or the other radiants, as getting injured was kind of their whole purpose in life. However, the weak and helpless people they are protecting? That might make for a compelling threat. Perses extended his hand towards the radiant. “Do we have a deal?”

How…interesting. Generally, Plutus appreciated actual money for their wares. However, once more, this was a special case. “Thank you, this should suffice.” He gave a brief bow to the trapper as she accepted the fabrial. “Thank you for shopping at Constellation, and may you come again.” She gave a brief wink to the human, making fun of the fact that they knew that the trapper would return for their device. A faint chime sounded as another customer entered. Perhaps this day was not cursed after all. ——————————————- Perses, The Mistwarrens, 0334 Tin Street. Perses, from the corner of the room, began to walk towards the man, abandoning his lean against the wall. “This was once the office of a crime lord that plagued the warrens. I happened here.” Perses stood facing the radiant, standing a few inches shorter than him, but close enough to let him see the scarring around Perses’ spikes. “But relax, I mean you no harm.” He paused. “Well, harming you is not what I plan to do this evening.” ”Ah, but where are my manners? Please, feel free to take a seat.” He walked over to an overturned chair, which seemed intact enough. He put it upright, facing it towards the office desk, and walked back behind it.

Me when women

And a big thing to keep in mind is that romantic or sexual attraction to one gender doesn’t immediately disqualify feelings for another. Sexuality is a spectrum, and it can be weird.

Plutus had never heard of such a device. How fascinating! He had to hide his giddiness. “Well, should I be given time to examine and analyze the device and diagnose the issue-“ She sensed the trapper’s apprehension at this idea. “I assure you, nothing will befall the device in my care. I will not pawn it off while you are away. Should you return the next morning, the device will be fixed.” Plutus was not a mechanic, and was not exactly best suited for such a job. In fact, it was something he rarely ever did. However, they always liked a good puzzle. The biggest reason they chose this job and this area of the city was to learn about the vast cultures and items that the many societies that trickled into the Alleyverse had to offer. And if given the opportunity, she would never turn down an opportunity to learn something new. ”that will be twenty Chrysts for the items and the repair.” This was a fraction of what these items and this service was worth. However, just interacting with this human paid for much of it. It was the people, not the money, that held value to Plutus.

Yeah, that’s my suspicion. Though for the constabulary, general anti-metalborn jail rooms that are meant for holding for a few weeks before having a brief trial and going to the city jail is more what I envision. A weird hybrid of Wild West jail cells and modern police offices, maybe. Though again, feel free to add whatever details, and I’ll roll with em. This is a minor building that I don’t plan on using for anything other than plot, so I don’t particularly care what it looks like. I believe for Asylum’s escape plan, a solitary confinement cell is more up his alley (heh). Though that would honestly make sense, given the power Lum has with being around others.
-
Your character has been approved, and so you are free to do whatever you want with them! The only thing I’d have to clear is a major power up (like eating a bead of lerasium, not swearing another ideal or even getting spiked) or if you want to make a separate thread of any kind.
-
Honestly it is intentionally left up to interpretation. Feel free to make up details! If I were to give it a guess, aluminum coated jail cells with metalborn guards is how the holding cells are kept intact. Though there’s a jail as well that is more heavily guarded. Although, there’s a decent chance that there’s a city jail with district police stations. Hmm.
