  1. alright gang, how are things doing?
  2. Alright, well so long as you make those changes and make sure to avoid godmodding with your character, your character is approved!
  3. Yeah it'll be harder if not near impossible for you to teleport invested items without getting a power boost. All non-cosmere magic systems are treated as if they are just a different form of investiture, and will operate on cosmere rules, more or less. I can proooobably say your character has been to the cosmere, but just be aware that it requires a guide to navigate the alleyways to get to the cosmere and back. It's not something you can just do willy-nilly, and is probably something you won't have the opportunity to do again any time soon. Is it possible? Sure. And I can give it to you as a backstory tool, but just know that it's not likely something you'll be doing while RPing. The Alleyverse is very good at sucking people into it, and is very reluctant to let people out of it.
  4. Okay so a few things (sorry for taking a while to get back to you) 1) I really like the amount of thought you put into the character! It seems clear that once things are sorted out that he should be fun to roleplay 2) being able to teleport objects to places he’s been before seems really powerful. My main problem approving new folks with powerful characters is that it can easily lead to godmodding. Either you can deprive another player of their agency, or you can make them feel useless in an encounter. This can be solved with some very intentional role playing, but it’s a risky thing. I’d put a fairly limit on the distance an object can teleport, just so that we don’t have a “I teleported your important item to the other side of the city” moment. Or at the very least give me an idea on how much effort/concentration is required for the power to be used at distance. I’m not against approving a powerful character, it’s just a tricky business 3) unfortunately inter dimensional travel doesn’t work like that. The gateways (called Alleyways) only take you from a universe to the Alleyverse, or vice versa. While it is possible your character could go from the Alleyverse to the Cosmere, it requires a lot of skill to maneuver the Alleys to wind up in the right place. If you want your character to gain specific items or experience, I’d keep it within the Alleyverse. 4) are your affiliations planned NPCs that you’d be interacting with? Are they people that would be around the character often? I’m mostly curious what you have planned for them.
  5. Midas, New Hallandren, Garrison Midas turned the corner, just in time to watch Ebon vanish in a puff of smoke. Colors! He was here longer than Midas had expected. Had he not simply assumed the fused would have grabbed the prisoner and run, perhaps he could have made it in time to stop him. Pushing aside that thought, Midas ran over to the cell that the fused disappeared from. To his shock, the prisoner was still there. Bruised and beaten, the Crimson Breath agent was still alive. "What did you tell him?" He demanded. Suddenly, a shuriken flew past Midas, slicing the agent's throat. Midas swiftly turned to see a cloaked figure in a crimson robe, hand outstretched. By the Colors, the Crimson Breath had arrived. As fate would have it, so had the rest of the garrison. Units recalled and have arrived at base. Crimson Breath is here, the message came over the comms. Sending a brief reply back, Midas got to work. Clotho, The Corridor Clotho watched as the man left, and she silently followed. Seems the matter manipulation was true. A very dangerous ability indeed. She stored the memory of his ability to analyze later. If you had such a power, why make art with it? And why keep to yourself about it? No use in asking such questions, she thought. That's for the boss to ponder. Clotho shook her head. She was the boss, dammit! It was always a struggle, keeping her selves separate. It was usually easier than this, though. With such a similar personality, and an occupation that made doing exactly what she was doing make total sense, things got very difficult.
  6. Hey y’all. I’ll be away from the AV for the rest of this week, and should hopefully be back over the weekend. Finals is finaling and I am an anxious bean.
  7. @DcD25yhtdA8 Clotho, The Corridor Clotho skulked down the corridor, careful to stay out of sight of her target. When it came to her job, such skills were invaluable. They came naturally to her, and she couldn't remember how she had gained them. She imagined it came with repeated exposure and a heavy reliance on her copperminds to keep those skills fresh. Those really were handy. If she ever met her past self, or someone close enough to her past self, she would make sure to thank them. This particular nook of the Corridor was covered in elaborate works of art, ranging from sculptures to vases to paintings. They were incredibly detailed, impossible things, and something that no ordinary person could make. The area was also strangely absent of people. The Corridor was usually bustling with people, but not this corner. All this art, but no visitors to appreciate it. If Clotho had cared much for art, she would have felt saddened. Both her and her shadow hid on opposite sides of the street. Technically, her shadow was only visible to her, and with a little focus, she could tell which one of her was real and which was a shadow. But that felt...wrong. A shadow didn't want to admit it was the shadow. And she was sure the noblewoman would be none too pleased to know that she was a fake. Both Clothos watched the man carefully from behind their cover.
  8. Clotho, Mistkeep, Clotho’s manor Clotho woke up, downed the vial next to her bed, and burned gold. Suddenly, she was standing over a woman a good five to ten years her senior, dressed in a night gown. Looking around, she saw the prim and well cleaned room of a noble. She hated nobles. Clotho rolled out of bed, and picked up a journal on her bedside by instinct. She read the writing scribbled on the cover. ”READ IMMEDIATELY AFTER WAKING” Oh yeah. Her memory jogger journal. Her memory was fleeting at the best of times, so a reminder of who she was and what was going on was never a bad thing. Hers was a bit more raggedy than this one seemed to be, but it seemed to have the same purpose. ”Clotho, you are a private investigator in the Alleyverse, and you gained an F-copper medallion to store your memories about a year ago, and now have a vast memory archive in the store room. The password is as follows: the store room’s lock is awakened, so you don’t need a password, as it is keyed to your spiritual fingerprint. If you can’t read the above line, please go to page 19 to get a refresher on your shorthand. It makes note taking much easier, and naturally encrypts your information” Well, that’s good. At least I can read my own shorthand today. ”your latest case is on the desk in your study.” Clotho turned around and got out of bed. Looking around, the house she was in painted a different picture than she had first thought. Sure, this was undoubtedly an expensive place. But beyond being clean, and way more expensive than she had money for, it wasn’t as pompous as one would expect. The ceiling was fairly low, and there were very few decorations, like the owner of the place didn’t plan on having many guests over. Which she supposed made sense, given her eccentricity. On the far wall, there was a convenient map of the house, with labels and everything. Heading over to the study, Clotho wondered who she was with today. Glancing over to her other half, she got her answer fairly quickly. She wore raggedy jeans and a warm-looking jacket, both of which were clearly slept in from the night before. On her head laid a well worn flat cap. Great. She was with a 30 year old newspaper boy. Which was, of course, far from the truth. Just because she looked like a street urchin, didn’t mean she was. I mean, for all she knew she was, but this was just an outfit to meet employers’ expectations. A professional snoop had to look like one, dammit! Well, it was nice to be with someone of a similar profession. Clotho made her way to the cork board and used the file on the desk to jog her memory. Ah yes. A mysterious figure has been spotted around the city, and they appear to have matter manipulating abilities. Her employer thought he could be dangerous, so he hired her to investigate. Which she was sure she could handle. as long as it didn’t get physical.
  9. @DcD25yhtdA8 want Clotho to investigate Vex? It seems fairly reasonable that someone would hire Clotho to investigate a shady loner that appears to have epic powers. Or something of the like. It would be a good way to get a scene going!
  10. Yeah, that certainly helps! All I need to know is that your character is fleshed out enough to be able to interact with others in a genuine way, and it looks like you have a solid enough grasp on the character for that to not be an issue. your character is approved!
  11. Largely what I’m getting at is that I want to know that this character has depth to it. One of the worst things is approving a character and then having the player realize that they can’t make a convincing scene due to having not fleshed out their character enough. I suspect you have your character fairly fleshed out, I just want to see it written down so I know for sure. A good grasp on his backstory+personality goes a long way to helping make a character truly thrive.
  12. What led him to go to her?
  13. few questions 1) what's Valov's spren like? I don't need a whole character, but maybe a bit on their personality and potentially backstory would be nice 2) What led him to get a nightwatcher boon? And when along his journey did he do that? 3) there are a multitude of ways to enter the Alleyverse. Some slip through accidentally, some seek it out intentionally. It can be a short journey to the Alleyverse, or a long one. Given your character in its current form actively sought it out, what led him to do so? And what did he do while there? Has it only been a short time, or has he been here a while?
  14. Well, step one is to read the worldbuilding and etiquette guide. Step two is to make a character with what you learned and the character template at the top of this thread!
  15. Midas, New Hallandren, Garrison Luckily, somehow, he was unharmed from the encounter with the fused. Unfortunately, he had failed to stop him from getting what he wanted. He considered going after him, but quickly decided against it. While Midas had many tricks up his sleeves, speed was not one of them. He might be able to fight Ebon, but he doubted he could outrun him. Still, he supposed it wouldn’t hurt to find out what was taken. Midas reclaimed his breaths from the objects he had awakened, leaving his cape and a few other parts of his uniform awakened. He then began walking, briskly and with purpose, toward where Ebon had gone. @Ink and Embers @Hoid Slayer @KaladinsSenseOfHumourSpren @CoderDrag0n8 Perses, Smokestack Dammit. Dammit! He was supposed to be the one in control, able to do anything he wanted. And he couldn’t follow a stupid little girl? His heart started pounding harder in his chest, blood rushing in his ears. Ba-bump. Ba-bump. Ba-bump. He was the rusting Prince of the Alleys. Nothing could stop him. ”Belias!” He said out loud. “Any sight of them?” I don’t see why this group of people is relevant. Ba-bump. Ba-bump. Ba-bump. Perses stored all of his senses, isolating himself from the world, and trying to shut out Belias’ voice. You know that doesn’t work. Ba-bump. Ba-bump. Ba-bump. Why did he still hear that incessant beating? Perses crouched down, covering his ears. No. Nonono. He had fought this darkness. He had beat it. You cannot beat what is not yours to control, Perses. Ba-bump. Ba-bump. Ba-bump. Panic began setting in, and his mind called back to that horrid house. A twisting maze of nothing, where his senses could not be trusted. With horror, he remembered the manor’s name. Wickwillow manor. His Wickwillow manor. No. Belias’ manor. Hush, Perses. He tapped his senses. All of them. He needed a rush of senses to get him out of this. But when he tapped his metalminds, nothing happened. The darkness persisted. What? Hush, Perses. Come home. Ba-bump. Ba-bump. Ba—
  16. The dagger was batted out of the way by Midas’ cape, but not before it barely glanced a grenade on his belt. Unfortunately, a scratch was enough. the grenade burst, the awakened net following its order to constrain the closest person, which was unfortunately Midas himself. The net wrapped tightly around Midas, making him go from in control to terrifyingly vulnerable in an instant. His cape sadly failed to guard him, as it didn’t recognize his own awakening as a threat. Colors! Luckily, it was Midas who awakened it. He commanded the breath back to him, making the net fall limp. It was still wrapped tightly, so he had to struggle to get free, buying Ebon valuable time.
  17. btw Clotho just got approved, so lmk if anyone wants to get involved with a dual personality private investigator.
  18. @DcD25yhtdA8 your character got approved, but I haven’t seen you get in on the RP. You need some help getting started with a scene?
  19. @AonEne can you take a look at this character pretty pleeeeeeeease :3 I’m just excited to play her and want someone that knows what they’re doing to say it’s good (and so that I don’t abuse the system by self approving characters)
  20. happy April fools day to you too
