  1. Intergalactic currency creates some drawbacks. They do not have the same value among the planets. Metals are not so valuable in Roshar, for example. Of course, this creates an interesting loophole to explore Scadrial. But it can become a problem if you want a massive trading system. Secrets are valuable to some. Investiture is valuable for practically everyone.
  2. Money is useful. But to be the pioneer of Investiture export? This is incredible for a group. Especially considering that they can use this to open a trade to buy Investiture also without the inconvenience of money. Like Breaths, Ettmetal, Aviars ... Stormlight at the very least serves to aid health, aid in plant growth, or replace Breaths. But that of what we know is possible, I would not doubt that there are more things.
  3. No doubt I'm reading something unique, someone who loves AoL and didn't like SoS and BoM.
  4. Raphaborn

    16 beads

Or it could be used as lerasiumind.
  5. The W&W characters have more charisma. Also, I think the pulp inspiration, which is very interesting and original for a fantasy setting. In addition, enemies, mysteries and magic were much better used.
  6. Stealing all non-power stuff at once makes Lerasium more useful than Atium. I don't think it's a good measure. Lerasium has more of the Preservation power than Atium has of Ruin, it is not so difficult for him to do something bigger.
  7. Correction, Lerasium steals all abilities. We don't know exactly what that includes. The option I think is likely is that it can steal all 15 options from the table at once (excluding aluminum). But I think it degrades faster than any other spike.
  8. We never had confirmation as to whether a Mistborn/Ferring or a Full Feruchemist/Misting could be born, right?
  9. I was thinking about Feruchemy and Fabrials. I don't think that would change the effect of the metal on Fabrial, it would just use the stored Investiture instead of Stormlight. And/or you could use Stormlight to fuel the Feruchemical power, as in Compouding. But it may take a few more steps to work.
  10. I disagree with almost everything about his view of the character, but about the second part even more. Her sympathetic side has been demonstrated since SoS, in the end we even see her comforting Wax even when Marasi and Wayne didn't know how to help. It reminded me of yet another unpopular opinion of mine. To show Steris as stereotyped as the superficial bore, and Marasi as the adventurous woman who doesn't fit the pattern just makes it obvious that Brandon wouldn't take the most obvious path. Remember how Marasi said she liked dresses and feminine things, it was a way to break the stereotype. He even took Steris off the screen in AoL so that Wax's decision not to stay with Marasi would not have the excuse that he really knew Steris and was in love with her. I know he used a lot of the Pulp trope, but Wax and Marasi would be just plain boring.
  11. When I speak of "evil destroyer" it is in the sense of an villain archetype. The villain who wants to destroy the everything, doesn't care about people, etc. Ruin may not be evil, but it is still a little stereotyped.
  12. No one is, because evil does not exist. That is not the point.
  13. Mistborn Era 1 would have been a lot more interesting if the Shards had an inverted role with Preservation being a villain and Ruin a hero. Imagine if the plan of mutual death and a new God came from Shard destined to be an evil destroyer.
  14. "She struggled in vain. She had duralumin still—burning it only made other metals vanish, not the duralumin itself—but last time that had nearly gotten her killed. If she didn’t take the Thug down quickly, she’d be left without pewter once again." I imagine it is also an interesting question what Duralumin flare does. And what happens if a Nicroburst touches a Duralumin Gnat or if two Nicroburst touch each other.
  15. "The so-called half-shards of Jah Keved are created with this type of fabrial attached to a sheet of metal, enhancing its durability." - Ars Arcanum. So, in fact, it is probably a pewter cage.
  16. I suspect there is something else, they know what steel is used in the polarity thing. What are the chances of having two different alloys of the same metal having an effect? I think the most plausible thing is that either the repeller is strangely not steel, or has some difficulty in the process that they were unable to discover.
  17. It is interesting to note that in Alomancy, tin makes the senses more sensitive and vulnerable. Is it possible, then, that he is actually diminishing something? And does this decrease have the effect of making the senses better? Or maybe we understand the effect of Diminisher in the wrong way. It is absorbing something external to Spren but related to its nature. Humans do that too, but using their senses. In this case, Tin makes humans more capable of absorbing sound, image, smells, etc.
  18. Pewter is physical and pushing. Tin is physical and pulling. So I believe that Diminishers actually use Tin, even though the effects of the two metals are not so closely matched in Allomancy.
  19. "No so much" is not the same as doing nothing.
  20. What I find impressive is that Feruchemy and Hemalurgy have premises that look good even at first glance. But Alomancy really seems goofy, I remember that my first reaction was disbelief, but I was very curious to know what would happen. And it was worth it.
  21. Maybe yes maybe no. When the metal is invested with Feruchemy it uses its Feruchemical power when burned, not the Allomantic, so the most likely is Yes.
  22. To try to be a better person and to act in a way that has to deal with the consequences of this, even if someone is invaluable to humanity and try to save the world and humanity from destruction = irredeemable monster. Being a petty selfish, trying to overthrow the king, betraying an ally trying to seek peace and unity between the kingdoms, and causing the death of an almost entire army, not repenting and trying to continue undermining the attempt to protect humanity = poor wronged murdered by the monstrous Adolin.
  23. Stormlightning Can you coppermind muscle memory? Brandon Sanderson No. Good question, I've haven't ever been asked that before. Skyward release party (Nov. 6, 2018)
  24. Yes, but with Copper you could memorize an entire physics book for example. I don't think it would work well with learning martial arts. This possibility is already covered in a normal unkeyed coppermind, as we saw at the end of BoM. But if it were possible to make it a long-term memory with Compouding it would degrade very slowly.
  25. This is cool. But I imagined something like Implant Memory, or Skill Chip Slot. And, best of all, not intrusive.
