Insanity Clinic For The Moderately Brandofandonitis Afflicted
NameIess replied to Going_North_cal's topic in Roleplaying
"Not a problem." Lark extended a hand, and a pair of daggers formed from shadow. "These should suffice. They'll corrupt anything they touch to Kaos, and will resist most magic short of the Creator's." -

"They're going to try and stop us, if we don't do something." Lark shrugged. "Besides, they'll be happy for it, once they're turned." -

I enjoyed Tress more, but Frugal Wizard is very good as well. -

Earth Nameless sighed. "Why does Calano need our help?" @Being of Cacophony The (now dark) Mysterious Forest Lark hesitated. "Calano has fully ascended? That is unfortunate." He wrote some more on his clipboard. "What should we do? Same as before, I suppose. What else can we do?" He glanced around. "Where's TAAron? I have a job for him." @The Aspiring Archivist -
Nightblood’s black smoke is just excess Investiture, I doubt it has any particularly damaging properties. He tries to eat anything he touches by converting it into investiture, which is why the thunderclast got entirely destroyed and soldiers died to a nick. With the walls, I guess there’s a range limit or some form of perception-based control over his eating, otherwise he would’ve destroyed the whole building.

Moni chuckled, walking towards the elevator that led up to the Ghanderflaffle empire proper. “It’s not actually that bad. Just don’t think about how they look.” “Family business. Supervising one of his children’s first adventures.”- 111834 replies

Insanity Clinic For The Moderately Brandofandonitis Afflicted
NameIess replied to Going_North_cal's topic in Roleplaying
The (now dark) myterious forest Lark didn’t look up from his clipboard. “Are you certain simple Kaos constructs will be enough? Those who oppose us are rather proficient at surviving when they should not. X and Thaidakar in particular have made quite the nuisances out of themselves.” He hesitated. “Beyond that, I finished analyzing that energy that caused so much disruption in our forced back at the clinic.” He gestured with his pin, and an illusory copy of the staff Nameless carried appeared. “That weapon will prove to be problematic, if no action is taken.” -

The (now dark) myterious forest Lark frowned, scribbling on his clipboard. “Yes, well. Kaos isn’t the only thing growing in strength. Our opponents are regrouping. We need to hurt them as much as we can while they’re isolated.” -

The Longest Thread (Misadventures)
NameIess replied to ElephantEarwax's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
A whisper fluttered softly through the thread: Honor Plot is not dead so long as he it lives in the hearts of men Sharders who really should be getting prepared for their final lab practical instead of typing stuff up on the Shard. Moni shrugged. "It can't decide whether the rise is supposed to be literal or metaphorical, I suppose." A wizened old man opened the door, squinting at Bookwyrm through a pair of spectacles. I’m of the opinion that it won’t happen. Syl is a spren, so the only way I could see a romantic relationship happening between them is if Syl gets dragged into the physical realm by Ishar. aside from the improbability of it, I don’t really see a point to them “getting together” considering that their souls are bonded together. Can’t get much closer to each other than that.

I found Frugal Wizard a fun read. I feel like whenever Brandon puts out a non-Cosmere book, I always got through the same pattern of not thinking it’ll be that good, then reading it and realizing how wrong I was. This time I went through the cycle twice, when it was first announced and I read the preview, then when the book actually came out. Most of the book wasn’t quite as good as Tress, but the ending was far better in my opinion. I’d love a sequel, but I’m not getting my hopes up. This wouldn’t be the first non-Cosmere book that Brandon’s left sequel-less for years.

If we’re talking about things that can’t be taken away by an external force, then life and liberty don’t qualify, while pursuit of happiness does. Unless you’re arguing that life is required for pursuit of happiness. If instead we’re talking about what shouldn’t be taken away, then life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness are a good start, in that specific order. Meaning that in general it is permissible to preserve life by infringing on liberty, and preserve liberty or life by restricting pursuit of happiness.
-
If we take that literally, then it's a fight between Honor and Preservation, not a Windrunner and a Fullborn. Even if that wasn't the case, there is still a limit to what a Radiant can do, no matter how much Stormlight they have. No Windrunner will have a strong enough Intent to come anywhere near making a black hole.
-
True. Still, it would probably interfere with Plate's natural functions, perhaps even going so far as to stop Plate from healing properly. One Radiant wouldn't be able to do that, even at Fifth ideal. There's a limit to how much Stormlight they can actually hold.
-
Worth noting this WoB on coating Plate in aluminum: Also, we don't know that coating something in aluminum would prevent it from having an atium shadow. Aluminum itself might just become invisible. Besides, the Mistborn still has enough speed to easily avoid the Radiant almost indefinitely, and I still believe that F-gold will heal a Shardblade even if they were to be hit on the spine. This WoB seems to imply that a Radiant can take such a hit: and we know that investiture without a bond can heal someone who is dead, both from the still-canonically working Szeth's revival and from Wyndle's confidence that Lift could heal that kind of wound. If a Fullborn is constantly tapping gold at a high enough rate, their soul should be sufficiently Invested to heal the bond between it and the body. Wax pulled off a similar feat with the Bands of Mourning, and while he did have some help from Harmony, he was also completely dead before he started tapping.

Subversion felt envious, which was odd given that she was really a very poor vessel for portrayal of her Author’s emotions. Perhaps she would make some kind of Narrator school that she was attending as a justification.- 111834 replies

I find it likely that with the current methods of hemalurgy, spiking put Kelsier’s connection to Scadrial would probably either kill him or leave his soul incredibly damaged. Perhaps the Set’s method of partial hemalurgy could be refined to allow for such a procedure to be done semi-safely.

Given that the book recommends keeping an old set of clothes, it’s unlikely that no one would ever forget to do so and then notice that their clothes didn’t come along with them. It’s probably got something to do with souls and magic stuff that they don’t understand.
