  1. "That was me, yes." Unintelligible returned Desolation's stare. "I don't want to kill you either. How about we both just agree to leave well enough alone?"
  2. "I don't know where Mordite is. That's the only answer I can give you."
  3. Unintelligible didn't blink. "Leave. You don't want to fight us."
  4. "Leave us alone anyways unless you want things to get messy."
  5. "You heard our answer. We don't have any Mordite, and we wouldn't give you any if we did. Leave now."
  6. 2165 - The government of Spain takes over Britain with the help of awakened pancakes.
  7. Moni looked at the note, then stood up and walked to the front door. Unintelligible kept his focus on Desolation. "I'm friends with a few narrators. Why would I give you something that'd let you kill them?"
  8. One of Unintelligible's hands dropped to his side. "We're not giving you Mordite."
  9. "He's here." Unintelligible turned to shout back into the house. "Hey Micheal! Desolation's here for you!" @Thaidakar the Ghostblood
  10. Unintelligible answered the door. “Oh, it’s you. Here to kill me I suppose?”
  11. "Perhaps all illusions share common ground, but that does not make it easy to pierce them." Subversion stood up confidently. "You think you can see through my illusions? Perhaps I'm more skilled than you thought. Perhaps I wanted you to believe that. Perhaps I was never here at all." She started laughing. "Goodbye Desolation. We'll meet again, though not today. Now, what was it that was foreshadowed? Oh yes." She continued laughing, then puffed into smoke. As Subversion vanished, the Narrationblade held by Desolation changed, shifting back to its previous, imperfect form. Most of the narration that Desolation had stolen from Subversion left him as well, revealing itself to be nothing more than a complex illusion. What little was left was a pittance in comparison, a tiny, insignificant portion of a narrator's power. Goodnight guys. It's late for me.
  12. Subversion sat up completely. "Didn't think it was you." She stood up, dusting herself off. "Here's some fun facts about me: First off, Nameless isn't my creator. Perhaps you're thinking of Moniker, but she definitely didn't turn out like he intended. And also, I don't think you understood what I said about my powers. Or perhaps you just weren't listening. I can make an illusion of anything."
  13. "I've... got him... right where I want him." Subversion sat up a little. "One more question. What'd you do to my weapon?"
  14. "Leave... me... alone." "Why... do you want it?"
  15. Almost entirely, yes. "Don't... know." Subversion coughed weakly.
  16. "I... don't... want... to." Subversion fell onto her hands and knees, breathing slowing down.
  17. Subversion drooped, nine of the ten copies beginning to blur. "Good to... know. Do you... have any... other powers?"
  18. "Huh." Subversion took a few steps backward, Narrationblade beginning to flicker. "That's cool."
  19. "So you could make one of those for me? After you decided not to kill me, that is."
  20. "Do you now? Interesting. So you can steal Narration without that sword of yours?"
  21. "You appear to be correct." All ten Subversions shrugged. "Still, this isn't the real me. Just an illusion. You'll never figure out which one is real."
  22. "You know, barbs against Nameless really don't work on me. You never met him, and neither have I." Subversion took a step back from Desolation. "Your Narrationblade just got stronger, did it? Regaining lost strength?"
