    That was great. I like how it wasn't a true out of the blue horror, and still had the elements of a good Christmas story, while at the same time hinting at the ending that you don't really want to happen because of the obviousness.

    Actually, and this is only a slight difference, but it translates to God out of (or from) the machine. "Ex" = from in Latin. "In" = ...... in.

    Well, traditionally, and darkside is fairly traditional (at least to Earth Standards), rulers use bureaucrats, so the empire could be run without his direct intervention. It seems like Skathan isn't the kind of person to go on a simple quest that might eliminate Gevin, though. I think that Baon is what he says that he is: someone sent to do Skathan's orders

    so this map suggests that Roshar (continent) covers only the half of the planet that we see for Roshar (planet). Doesn't it cover the whole planet?
