  1. @NattyBo I agree with you. It is disconcerting to hear nothing but silence from Brandon on this. As for remaining apolitical, whether one thinks something is worth taking a political stance over or not, is itself a political stance. Agreed with @Karger & the mods as well. Some people just aren't inclined to stick their neck out for others. And it damnation right is something that you're allowed to feel offended over! But we can wait to see his response on this. ⚠ description of graphic violence ⚠
  2. Wasn't it the Sibling who was Bonded during the False Desolation and following that the Recreance "One Bondsmith was in constant accompaniment of Urithiru" — should refer to the Sibling, as they maintain vital functions and defenses of the tower. They were the ones we hear about in the gem archives
  3. Welcome to the Shard!
  4. She commented how bright they were. Wait, although I think I remember the scene in the graphic novel, I don't think she mentioned the Shifting Colors there. Just the fact that he was a Daysider (she didn't know he had Darksider blood at the time) iirc
  5. I'm thinking about the convert food into Stormlight part (and Lift does not seem to be able to draw Stormlight from Spheres). Would you say Stormlight not technically being her power figures into this?
  6. Hmm there's another mention in Vol 2 I think, when Khrissala comments on Kenton's eyes, @King of Herdaz?
  7. Workers' songs, you mean? With the frequent balls and the Nobles did have music. Hmm... I think we don't see any of that because of the cast of characters we follow. As Vin said/roasted, Kelsier's gang led a sort of half-Noble life. And afterwards, of course there was no time for any of that
  8. Welcome to the Shard, @ckennedy! And yeah, that's the current theory here on the Shard and in-world regarding the False Desolation, imprisonment of Ba-Ado-Mishram and the consequent transformation of the Singers into the Parshmen. I do not think that history world repeat itself in this case though, the circumstances were both a bit unique back then with Ba-Ado-Mishram somehow fueling the Forms of power and now with the Final Desolation having approached and the Everstorm circulating on Roshar
  9. Ah, that makes sense Hmmmmm... I'll look at this whole thing as similar to the creation of photons when stuff is heated then...?
  10. Wow dude, you're really cheerful I'll be disappointed if I don't see you around on the Shard, @PERCY-1417 Take care!
  11. Haha, is it just me or does the second WoB contradict itself?
  12. @DalinarShadow created it
  13. The French peeps were feeling lonely Someone created a Discord too
  14. It's expanded upon a bit more in the prose. It's the Darkside system of Investiture.
  15. Yes, that's what Taravangian believes and what Odium says, but Odium may have been mislead into believing that. Looking at the texts of the Diagram, it seems much more likely that Fortune was used, they just seem so detailed yet esoteric
  16. People are not logic engines, @Oltux72. The Mainlanders made assumptions, wrong assumptions, based on what they knew, which wasn't much. And after contact with the Ones Above, which is presumably when & how they developed the capacity to build destroyer class ships, they had their eyes set on the larger prize of Patji itself.
  17. So you believe Taravangian really did create the Diagram without access to Fortune?
  18. ^ this You can release Investiture from matter in the Cosmere. It's part of the matter, energy and Investiture trifecta there. Though it seems like not completely. The metal is getting converted into Investiture in Allomancy. With the metal's atomic structures acting as the key for which abilities get filtered down from Preservation to the Allomancer. (There's also an sDNA element to it, which decides which metal you can burn: all or one, with the one being randomized rather than inheritable, despite Allomancy itself as a whole being inheritable) It is metal that is turning to Investiture. The type of power is determined by the metal because the metal is the conduit to Preservation. Which is why metal glows in the Scadrian Cognitive, power is trying to escape through there from the Spiritual. We've actually seen the Investiture Arts filtering Investiture from the Spiritual and/or the Cognitive to the Physical acting like a pressure valve before with AonDor or spren on Roshar note that we currently have conflicting WoBs regarding whether metal burnt by Allomancers is lost or not Lift seems to be straight up converting matter to Investiture, specifically Stormlight. I'm clarifying that last bit because Brandon has confirmed that pure Investiture is a thing and that is how Investiture types can be converted between systems (Breath to Stormlight or vice-versa)
  19. Happy Birthday!

  20. Welcome to the Shard, @PERCY-1417! Which Cosmere book's your current favourite?
  21. Happy Birthday, Calderis!

  22. They knew what was told to them by the Ghostbloods and the Skybreakers, which was not much As for the value of aluminum, I think that was more of a comparison. Aluminum is expensive on Roshar as well.
