  1. 6) we never actually see this place, but it was very important for the climax of the book Nope!
  2. Nope! Did I make this too difficult? I'm looking at it from the answerer's perspective and it looks like it would be very difficult to come up with guesses.
  3. Happy Birthday, @Eternal Khol!

    1. Eternal Khol

      Eternal Khol

      Thank you!

though its not quite my birthday yet(its still the 15th in my timezone)

  4. I think Odium can't see through a soul and has to be let in, the Listeners had to open themselves up in order to be taken by the Fused or Voidspren. Odium seemed to use the Voidspren as a hole, like Ruin did with Hemalurgy.
  5. I don't know about the Willshapers. We've met the Reachers, they aren't angry at the humans in the same sense as the Dustbringer spren or Stoneward spren, and the Highspren were apparently always more about the word of the law than the spirit: But could be, could be, we'll see.
  6. That one's name was Yushah not Vyre, so probably not. This moniker... I think it might come from a Voidbinder, just a feeling
  7. Just to be clear, I'm speaking in the context of fabrials not whether or not they're aware certain metals exist. Also, as the Rhythm of War postscripts explicitly state: fabrial science methods are kept as state secrets, so the Veden might have discovered what steel does and/or how to integrate steel into fabrial tech, the Alethi probably do not. King Hanavanar got assassinated swiftly and then a civil war happened so it's also possible that the knowledge is lost even in Jah Keved now and would have to be rediscovered.
  8. I'm wondering the same thing, it certainly seems so from what Venli said in this chapter (unless there are multiple subtypes of these spren too) I know who it refers to but I thought it was a symbolic renaming not a "title"
  9. @Harrycrapper, I agree @Karger, that's interesting... I wonder if it might be related to this phenomenon:
  10. So as of ch 11 we know that they know iron pulls (attractor fabrials), they know there should be a repeller fabrial, but presumably don't know how to go about it. If they don't know steel, they might indeed not know copper. So they haven't quite figured out the elemental metal-alloy pairing.
  11. I don't remember it, could you paste an extract if it's not too much trouble Hmm, I think that's just the inner workings of the Surge becoming visible to him, really not the same thing. Besides, we were told that the Willshapers, Elsecallers and Lightweavers had an affinity for "the far realm of spren". It makes sense for both Soulcasting and Transportation to allow the user to view the Cognitive Realm, and no wonder that the Elsecallers were called "the true masters of that realm" compared to them, both their Surges are really quite a bit oriented towards the Cognitive
  12. I think the Stormfather just chose to appear to him in WoK and in OB he used the Elantrian Fortune sphere The name's a bit generic so I wondered if they might be Corrupted, and they seem to be something new (then again, we don't enough of pre-Recreance to say that definitively). Who knows, maybe all Voidspren are created via Corruption and it's just that so far we've only seen Corrupted lesser spren
  13. 1) yup, they might not know of copper fabrials if they don't know steel, iron pulls & steel pushes 1.5) congrats to those who predicted this would be a Venli chapter 2) "Thunderclasts and Unmade"? Thunderclasts are considered to be above the Fused? 3) confirmation of Dalinar's "hunch" of nine types (called brands, apparently) of Fused. Moash had also counted 9 types of Fused in OB, Ch 121 4) okay, so apparently the Fused don't take over bodies perfectly. The original gender remains, but carapace patterns change 5) ah, so the looking into the Cognitive comes from being a Willshaper 6) that's the most complex communication we've seen via the Rhythms 7) title of He Who Quiets? 8) It's difficult when you only have a conquering culture and a dark regime in your past to emulate, it's nice to see the real world dilemma reflected 9) Ah, such a thematic resonance between her situation and her Order. Volition. Agency. 10) both Voidlight and Stormlight! Actually, now that I think about it, yeah, but that still took me off guard 11) I think that we now have a name for the voidspren that detected usage of (most) of the Surges: secretspren, presumably Corrupted secretspren. So Lightweaving and peeking into the Shadesmar does not draw them... and wow she's good at it, unlike Shallan 12) Another type of Fused! The Masked Ones. They can assume the forms of others. This would be the Lightweaver Fused? We met them in OB, Rysn's interlude when one of them took the form of a Thaylen guard in order to steal the perfect gemstone 13) gravitationspren for Workform? So... just hardier, I guess 14) with Moash, Kaladin and now Venli, looks like Leshwi really will be a major player going forwards 15) Venli's quite practical, and yeah, I don't see many spren willing to Bond with Singers 16) So Timbre wasn't alone in this... she's representing other spren. Presumably not a certain type of spren given that we've met her kind, her father, to be exact. 17) Cliffhanger!? Wonder what Leshwi sensed...
  14. Luke, you are my father
  15. You have become... the very thing you fought against
  16. Thanks! And welcome to the Shard!
  17. Nice tat, welcome to the Shard!
  18. Yes, lots of turbulence, not fun The person below me was sick recently
  19. Welcome to the Shard!
  20. Both of them.
  21. That was incredibly classist, condescending and hypocritical.
  22. My top disgusting Shallan Davar moments (in no particular order): the stark comparison: Kaladin with a single sphere that's more than a Bridgeman could ever earn, while Shallan scoffs that even a destitute Lighteyes family of her Nahn several such spheres were less than pocket change The boots scene: not funny The eye drops scene: so you find the idea that a Lighteyes could pretend to be a Darkeyes fun, but a Darkeyes getting away from all that and pretending to be a Lighteyes is horrifying?! Oh god forbid, Shallan! And yet you found the idea of spren being captured for fabrials disturbing but what about your fellow human beings? The did he just compare women with peasants scene: excuse me? Where do I even start with that? That "peasant" is Kaladin, you just survived the Chasms together, do you have any respect for him as a fellow human being at all? Cruel jokes at others expense: her thought process about where to be funny is basically, can I get away with making fun of this person? If that person is beneath me then they should just get a sense of humour! That comment regarding shutting Renarin up when the Everstorm was approaching: wow
