At least it wasn't Wayne who discovered her book.

FWIW, I asked Brandon at a signing if Miles's 'men in red and gold' had anything to do with Lightsong's colours. The answer is "No."

Shadows of Self Tour: London Forbidden Planet signing
Havoc replied to ParadoxicalZen's topic in Events and Signings
Sorry for the really long delay in getting the recording online. I had some major techincal issues with my phone. Better late than never I hope. This is quite a good one, with the Moonsceptre=Rosetta Stone reveal, as well as tidbits like the 'white branch' from the Ghostblood's treasure room actually being from Yolen. -
Shadows of Self Tour: London Forbidden Planet signing

I'm quite convinced Ym was an Edgedancer. His chapter is very much him living out 'I will remember those who have been forgotten'. While the two spren seem distinct at first glance, that can be explained. Let's first look at the exact descriptions of the two spren. Ym's Spren: Wyndle: So Wyndle is mostly in the cognitive realm, by Lift can still see all of him, due to her boon. Now imagine what Wyndle would look like if you could only see the light reflected from those crystals, and compare to what Ym sees... QED -

What I remember pretty much matches what you've written. I'll upload the recording tomorrow and then we should have a clear picture. -

ParadoxSpren got a really juicy answer about the Moon Scepter, but I'll let him post it himself... -

I'll be wearing a white Shadows of Self lanyard with a red Lightweaver pin. ☺ -
Thanks guys. Unfortunately, I was nervous enough to forget half my questions, so I'll try to ask the rest Monday. Miles talks about the impending arrival of men in 'Red and gold'. Is this connected to Lightsong's colours? Why don't the Rithmatists just build an acid-filled moat around the tower in Nebrask? Is what happened to Shallan's family connected to the Gavilar's black sphere that Szeth buried in Jah Keved. In the broadsheet in 'Shadows of Self' we see a picture of a mysterious person. Are we looking at a face or a mark here?

I finally got a chance to meet Brandon for the first time in London today. This wasn't one of his typical signings, but a larger, ticketed event organized by Gollancz, his UK publisher. The event itself had 6 half-hour panels of 4-5 authors each, discussing a different aspect of fantasy/scifi. The panels were quite a nice chance to hear from a large set of authors, most of whom I'd never heard about before. There was a separate panel for new authors making their debut in 2015, which included some really interesting sounding book pitches. In what was a surprise to me, the audience was about 60% female, which encouraged my wife to finally give fantasy a try. She's reading Mistborn 1 right now. After the panels, there was a signing session with all the authors. Brandon drew about 95% of the crowd here, which can't have been heartening for the other authors. Brandon signed my copies of WoK and WoR, as well as my Kindle, and i got a chance to ask him three questions: (all paraphrased) Minor 'Perfect State' spoilers Stormlight 1+2 spoilers That question earned me the 'Question of the Day' award, a Lightweaver pin! I was also able to get a recording of the whole signing, but there was a lot of background noise. I don't expect to have the time to transcribe it myself, but the whole thing is below if anyone else wants to have a go. When I came back at the end of the session to collect my phone, Brandon said that he had provided some really juicy answers, so he hoped the recording had worked fine. I was also lucky enough to get the last set of Mistborn earbuds he had. All in all a great day. Recording There's another signing on Monday, which should include the Oathbringer reading, as it's a Brandon-only event. I'll be going to that one too, and Brandon said he'd try to let me sit at the signing table to jot down any Cosmere goodies that the recording might miss. The man just continues to impress me with how dedicated he is to his fans!

I'm surprised no one has posted this yet, but we've seen Idashwy in Chapter 1. At least we now know she seemed to be there voluntarily, and it's not like someone was using her hemalurgically-stolen powers.

Rock says at multiple points that the others are unable to think clearly as the air they breathe is too thick. As this is a Sanderson book, could it be that he's actually speaking literally? Now that much of the main cast is spending time in Urithiru which is up in the mountains, will they start to recover from their airsickness? Could it be that this was one of the reasons why Urithiru was built up so high?

We have no idea how much subjective time he's experienced. WoB says that he uses Ferruchemy to jump ahead in time without experiencing the intervening years, so he might just not be old enough yet for the Wode to have revealed themselves.

The cosmere is Hoid's 'Perfect State'. That is all...

I'm certain that I read somewhere that Brandon prioritized finishing the Reckoners trilogy in order to make it easier for a movie to proceed. However, I cannot find the source.

Firefight talk (SPOILERS!!! do not read before book)
Havoc replied to Sirscott13's topic in The Reckoners
The biggest issue with David being an Epic is figuring out how he fooled the dowser. -
Wasn't Dawnslight one of the first epics to gain powers? If so, it's very possible that Calamity himself (itself?) went through a Rending like all other Epics, where he indiscriminately gave out powers to random people. He might have become more deliberate once he regained control.

Thanks guys

Has there been any news about when Legion: Skin Deep might be released? The official website only says 'Late 2014' but with less than two months left in the year, I'd expect to have some more details.

It's almost certainly an update to this:

Can I chime in against any tapatalk integration? As someone who doesn't want to pay for a forum app, I'm quite annoyed how tapatalk infects any forum it's set up on, and really ruins mobile access unless you pay for the app. I really like the mobile version of the current skin, and don't think any changes are needed.

29, signing in. I'm open to the idea, so long as it's central ish London, and on a weekend.
-
Good spot. I'd missed the line about the others glowing.

I'm a little disappointed there are no annotations for the prologue. I was really hoping for more colour about how Tan managed to anticipate Wax's bullet.
