  1. I haven't lost this game in AGES (meaning a few months) but now I have ... Scud.
  2. I want to know out all of the exact Allomantic and Feruchemical physics. Of everything. Along with some decent units of measurement! Seriously- we need units. For metalminds, and push/pull strength, so on.
  3. I just had a really random thought about waffles: Am I weird for putting Jam and whip cream on? Or do other people do that? So that's why this exists.
  4. YKYASW your brother quotes Sanderson books, but has never actually read any of the books. (I will get him to do it eventually)
  5. "There's always another secret"- Kelsier I don't know it off hand, but Wit's thing about novelty
  6. I was thinking about it more, and this actually needs to be a thing. I kind of want to learn how to program, just so I can make this game, but I can almost guarantee I am far too lazy for that. It would be really hard to play without a stylus, unless there is a drag and drop sort of thing... But on a tablet with a stylus, it could definitely be a game. There could be one on one duels or a Melee with a whole bunch of teams. But seeing as how I don't actually know programming, I have no idea how realistic it is to actually be made.
  7. I think so- It might just be me not being a 12 year old anymore though. I started to reread the Percy Jackson stuff, and it just isn't as good anymore. So then I reread Brandon Sanderson again. I see now why everybody makes jokes about Sanderson Anonymous. Also- Intentional or not this gets an upvote.
  8. But it is in the same universe as Earth so the entire cosmere is in the same universe as he is. And he knows it. And he can't reach it. Imagine the PAIN! (This has nothing to do with the game, so I'm not making a wish)
  9. Granted, but you live on Detritus and can't leave until Starsight comes out (maybe even not then). I wish that I owned all of the Brandon Sanderson books and am able to read them without harm to myself or others.
  10. There is the board game, but they did cancel the computer game: Questioner Has Mistborn: Birthright officially tanked? Brandon Sanderson Has Mistborn: Birthright officially tanked? So this is the video game. So the kind of longer-- the short answer is yes. The kind of longer answer is the developer who was making the video game bought the movie rights for a year, because we wanted to combine the movie rights and the video game rights. We gave him only a year, because we were like, "You haven't made any films. But we want to tie these rights together. It sounds like a good thing." We gave him a year, and he lives in LA so he knows a lot of Holywood people. "Sure, give it a try." In a year he couldn't get a film made, or really moving. You can't make one in a year anyway, and so the rights for everything have lapsed, and now he's talking to the people that we sold the Mistborn rights to, to say, "Hey, maybe I can make the video game if you make the film." The problem being that new IPs in video games are very hard to get funding for. And those who work in video games and know them are nodding their heads. And so he tried very hard. He's made a lot of video games. Most of his games as you know from looking at his developer site are all movie tie-ins, right? He wanted to try a book tie-in. He's made good games. He has a lot of people on his staff who've made really good games with a lot of different companies. They could make a good Mistborn game. They needed, you know $20 million. Which, they can usually go to people who give them funding, and say, "Hey, we're making the video game for, you know, Kung Fu Panda." Which they did. And they're like, "Oh, okay here's you're--you know-- $10 million, $20 million. We know this is a safe bet. This video game will sell." When they say they're making one on Mistborn they're like, "Where's the movie?" And so it was very hard for him to get the funding. It was very hard for him to get things built. I think he still wants to make it. But now he's in talks with the guys making the movie, and I don't think it will ever happen unless the film gets made. If the film gets made I think it will happen. I pitched to him last week doing a 2D side-scroller Symphony of the Night style Metroidvania Mistborn game, which is something we can fund in-house, right? And just kind of do what a lot of the cool indie games are doing right now. It's like modern design aesthetics, but a 2D sort of thing. Salt and Sanctuary comes to mind, if you guys played that. You know, you can do some really cool stylized stuff and really interesting game mechanics, but if you want to go full 3D, this generation console, like 20 million is like the low end of what you need. And so that's where we are. White Sand vol.1 release party (June 28, 2016)
  11. Huh. That's actually cool, even if I'm not original. Thanks for the WoB!
  12. Ooooooh... I think I get it now. Everything just gets turned into energy/investiture. Even vitamins and stuff. All right. Thanks!
  13. Yes. But there is more to food than just calories- vegetables have a lot of fiber, which is good for cleaning out your insides or something, bananas have potassium which is good for cramps( I think). Where do these go? I do understand how the energy part of the food works.
  14. What Brandon Sanderson book do people think would be made into the best game, and why? I personally think a Mistborn strategy game or a rithmatist dueling game would be the best, but I want to know what other people think.
  15. I saw my mom reading The Final Empire when I was about 12 and all I saw was the whole Elend/Vin part and I just thought it was girly. Which I made fun of. And then, 3 years later, I saw the book in a library, checked it out and read it. I had vague memories of reading a page or two when I was younger, and started thinking about it. I thought it was really funny that I actually ended up liking the book. And then I read the other books in the series. And then I read Stormlight Archive. And then I read everything else, again and again. When I read Arcanum Unbounded for the first time, it completely blew my mind, then I found the coppermind, 17Shard, Arcanum and reread all of the books again with the new information. And now I've joined the people who are going through Sanderson withdrawal and are trying to stave it off with rereads.
  16. This would seem to make the most sense, but the vitamins and stuff are what confuse me. How do you choose to pull out a certain kind, unless it just mixes them and you tap an equal mix, or if it just stores the sugar/energy or anything else that gets converted into energy for the body, while letting the vitamins and other nutrients just enter the body.
  17. But eating a donut and eating a salad will have different effects on the body, not just measured in nutrition. A donut is going to cause bad donut chemicals (I don't know what they're called) and some fuel for the body, while a salad is going to give fiber, vitamins, other good salad stuff, and have a more positive effect on the body. Just storing nutrition, the amount of energy the food would give, doesn't account for nutrients, which are also a big part of peoples... needed stuff? I don't know what to call it. Whatever people need. A bendalloy metalmind you propose would eliminate the harmful effects of the donut, purely giving the energy it would provide. This would mean people could eat anything, store it, and then tap it immediately and lose all of the bad parts of it. Junk food is no longer junk food. The good and bad parts of any food would be lost, which violates the whole nothing is lost or gained part of feruchemy. You see the conundrum? You eat a donut, store it. Tap it and pull out the same nutrition, but leave out the sugar, fat, harmful stuff. Rereading this, it sounds really rude. It isn't meant to be, I just don't know how to say it any other way...
  18. Steel- Turn into a fireball and explode the world by hitting the air Tin- You go blind, your eyes pop, and your brain fries from sensory overload Iron- You fall through the earth and crush everything It would be great
  19. Oops. I thought were you talking about mine! My bad.
  20. That sounds really interesting... In hand to hand fight, it could be useful. But in a gunfight, it is probably better to just move out of the way. I don't think it would chop off arms or anything like that. If you look at bullets flying in, they just get redirected. If they broke from being part in and part out, we would know. I think getting caught in a cadmium bubble would be like having a limb trapped suddenly- you might break bones, or worse. And they would be stuck inside of it. A bendalloy bubble would be interesting to be a bit caught in. A limb could still move at normal speed, relative to outside, and I think it would. But once a person gets fully out or in, they will be back to the normal time. If they get caught almost entirely in a bendalloy bubble, with a single limb out, I think it would be like a reverse situation with the cadmium bubbles. It could definitely be cool though! As for the steelrunning, the arm does still have the effect of tapping steel. Brandon said somewhere that tapping steel has some sort of strengthening effect, so they don't just turn around and accidentally commit suicide by breaking their neck or moving their arm. The extra momentum from increased speed is somehow compensated for by the magic. I don't think that trapping a single steelrunner's limb in the bubble would have much more a dramatic effect than catching a normal person's limb in the bubble. That said, having an arm frozen in place while you are running is not going to be good in any sense of the word. It might still cause a dislocation or other injury. I do think is a really cool idea though!
  21. I didn't know about the whole "blow up a lot of stuff" part of running light speed, but I did know about friction, atmosphere, burn up part. But somebody with gold feruchemy could heal that, if they had a REALLY big metalmind. Except for the accidentaly breaking planets part. Unless they wanted to blow up worlds...
