  1. I once it heard proposed that Adonalsium was made of opposites, like Ruin and Preservation. Obviously not true, because math. But Shards don't need to be direct opposites to oppose each other, if indirectly. We see all the Shardic conflict going on around, and few of those Shards are in direct conflict of intent. Ati, the vessel of Ruin himself says to Preservation, "Anything you do, I counter." Being composed of so many individual parts on conflict, it might have been difficult for Adonalsium to do anything. It's like a plate made of different glass fragments, it still functions, but may not do it as well or look as good. A solid, one color plate, is much nicer to eat off of. Of course, that depends on the color. I don't want to really eat off of a Ruin colored plate. This is why I think the Shattering was necessary. Adonalsium, while probably a decent deity, was not as functional as he could have been. Without the future sight of a Shard, those who Shattered him probably decided that breaking it up was necessary to get some stuff going in the universe. And as we can read, there is a lot of stuff happening with the Shards running loose.

  3. The Game You lose. I lose. We all lose!
  4. That's actually really similar to the premise of the game. (Spacechem is a game) Since doing my signature would be boring, Poor Adonalsium Splinters, Sixteen. SIXTEEN
  5. (Is there a shrug emoji?) I have no idea
  6. Tag you're it! *Walks through a doorway*
  7. That would make sense, and not lead into rafo territory. I was kind of leaning towards Vax. We know it isn't Vax, but building a planet is complicated, and Ati wonders about Vax, so... But, well, Vax.
  8. Granted, the words "The" and "Game" are blocked out of your mind anytime you hear them, and all The Game is removed from all of your memories. You live with internal peace for years, content to continue systematically posting, until your older brother finally stops telling you to. For years, you live in blissful peace, if slight confusion. But then, one day, you remember The Game, and you go back to being an alcoholic and hiding alone thinking your family hates you. Also, your bane is that everybody sneezes on you whenever they say your name. I wish that I had a enough money to go the college of my choice as long as I choose to and to be able to afford everything I need to at that college and outside of it at no mental, physical, emotional, or temporal harm to anybody, myself included, or property of people I associate with, or my own property.
  9. You could bring a tree though!
  10. I was just about to do the same thing then I thought I better check the dates
  11. We have seen that they used examples to build people right? Did they have an example for the planet as well? tlr had enough trouble just moving the planet when he had the power, how much harder is creating a planet? Also, I think they just threw it together out of investiture.

  14. I think it depends on how you think of allomancy. Burning a metal connects one to Preservation, and it draws power through that connection. The connection varies for every metal, so when pewter is burned, the pewter sized power fits through the pewter sized hole. Square pegs don't fit through triangles, and while connection obviously isn't the same, I think the concept applies. The power comes from Preservation, fits through the metals Making a feruchemical storage is creating a new metal. However, unlike most metals, it has 2 main connections. One to you, since you made it, and one to Preservation. When you burn this metal, the power from preservation comes through the metal-Preservation connection, and takes the form of the metal's connection to you so it is able to reach you more easily. The path of least resistance. This means that Preservation's power is being converted, sort of, through You-metal connection into the form of the feruchemical storage. This gives you the power from Preservation, but as the form of the feruchemical power. Storing this works because it still fits into the metal, but you have a lot of the trait to store instead of just your own. So, when one compounds, it is only the act of burning the feruchemical metal. Compounding really is a fancy term for feruchemical storage burning. It's just allomancy. Savantism is when you, as Kell says sometime, when you burn metals too much and stretch your body. This stretching is caused by Preservation's power flowing into you at high speeds. Compounding does the same thing, letting in lots of Preservations power. Doing it for too long would have the same effect. At least, that's what I think.

  19. "The world is ending- just look out your window," the TV says. Your little sister, Suzy, hops out of her chair and runs to the window. "A meteor will strike in 1 day exactly, 23 hours and minute now" continues the TV. Your father gets up as well, walking to the window. Looking up, he confirms the news. "Well. Guess that settles it, doesn't it?" You hop out of the car and look up at the building. House #88372-AZ, its name a product of the original governing attempt. Your neighbors, and worst enemies. After they kidnapped your dog and sacrificed it to the sun, you kidnapped their dog and wrote a hate letter in blood on their wall. The feud had continued since, escalating from the petty dog murders to things like stealing cake of all things. Since civilization had fractured a few hundred years ago, governments had tried to reform, but instead all that happened was a renewal of news stations over the entire world. Your family climbs out around you. As one, you turn to the door and pull out knives, all but your father. He instead takes out an ax and busts down the door. An hour later, you emerge from the house with the things you need. Inside, 2 corpses lay dead, with 2 others kneeling over them. You dump the last of your gasoline into the car as everybody piles in. Driving off, you look at the fancy remote you found, labeled PUSH IN CASE OF EMERGENCY. You shrug. What could go wrong? We're all going to die anyway. You push it. 20 miles away, in the only remaining nuclear silo in the world, the roof opens. Smoke billows out, clouding around the tower. Slowly, then faster, a rocket emerges, shooting into sky towards the giant rock. Suzy points towards the window for the second time that final day, noticing the large rocket shooting through the sky. It slams into the meteor, which breaks into a million pieces that all, by pure random chance, fly away from Earth. Instead, they fly off towards the sun. On their way there, a certain large planet known as Mars gets in the way. The meteor fragments hit it, knocking it out of orbit. About 2 and a half years later, Mars on a direct intercept course for Earth. You walk into the court, resigned to your fate. After that day where you saved the world, fractured countries made one last push for reformation. They succeeded, and with what tenuous control they had, began to rebuild the world. Starting with justice. Since you claimed to have saved the world, they started with you. They didn't get very far before Mars smacked right into to Earth and blew it into a thousand pieces of molten rock. You live in a world where nobody talks, but not because they can't. Anything anybody says gets twisted and warped by a mysterious cult with magic powers until it becomes a twisted nightmare of reality. This has been happening for 2 years now.

  22. You stare down into your hand in bewilderment. The most recent letter from your 2nd cousin and best friend lies there. Stunned, you pull out your phone and call them. Two times the phone rings, then it picks up. "Hello?" You take a deep breath. "That letter you sent. It's a joke right? There's no way that can be real." A pause, then she replies. "What letter?" The line fills with static, and the floor begins to shake. The letter you were holding slips from your hand onto the floor, its words seeming to glow from the page. As you collapse to your knees, the sky turns red and you hear distant thunder. You drop your phone, shattering the screen as your front door falls out. Through the hole, you can see a massive vortex swirling in the sky. A paper blows across the street towards you, landing neatly in front of you. You glance between the two letters in shock, realizing they are the same. Then the ground explodes, and you black out. The dust settles to the ground slowly, revealing the barren, desolate plains that are left. The sole survivor rests on a throne, a golden crown on her head, a paper in one hand, and a scepter in the other. A moment later, they gasp out their last breath and die, falling back into the chair. The gray planet, once green, spins on. You wake up one morning and realize that you have the power to turn invisible, but once you do, you can't turn back.
  23. I would be an Elantrian because then I can sit around and program the universe
  24. I would think it is a lot more Preservation since it preserves traits for later. I think it loses some power overall when pulled out in excess (maybe?) which could account for Ruin but it does seem more Preservation centered.
