  1. I didn't even think of that! That would make more sense than storing a physical thing, since most of the other metals store more abstract stuff (strength, memories, senses) and this would fit in with that. This would make sense that foods that "fill" people up more would store more, and vice versa. Yeah... I don't think anybody does know. All of the questions about bendalloy tend to be speed bubble stuff.
  2. I'm pretty sure that it's just the Vorin religion, and doesn't actually do anything. I think they might have used to do things, when Honor wasn't splintered, and this is what they are based off of. Honor might have done something about them, and this tradition of this might be a holdover from ancient times, when they might have actually done something. But that's just speculation.
  3. I have wanted to know how bendalloy feruchemy works exactly for a while, since we did nutrition in my high school bio class. The coppermind says that: A bendalloy Ferring is known as a Subsumer. Bendalloy is used to store nutrition and calories. While filling a bendalloymind, a Subsumer is able to eat large quantities of food without becoming full. Tapping such a metalmind will allow the user to go without food. A separate bendalloymind can be used to store fluid intake. If bendalloy just stores nutrition, would eating a donut and storing be the equivalent of storing a donut in the metalmind? What happens then, if you store a salad in afterwards? Do they mix? If you tap it, can you choose or do you just get an equal mix based on amounts? Or does bendalloy store the different components in food? I don't know a ton about it, just high school bio, but food is made of lots of different kinds of nutrients, each used for different things. Does bendalloy store it based of these nutrients? Would pulling from this give an equal amount of each? Or, does bendalloy work like tin minds, where you store a separate sense in each, or in this case, store a different nutrient in each? Any other possibilities I missed or do we already know this and I've been wondering for no reason?
  4. That is true off of worlds, but on a planet? Could a person use it for travel in a world, like if they really didn't want to be late or something. You could be someplace in less than fractions of seconds. I could be at school on time every day! And if they did... would they age faster compared to the rest of the world if they did it a lot? I guess they would...
  5. I meant do living spren like Syl or Pattern show up with their own special fog, or only the traditional blades But now that I think about, do living spren even show up as fog? Or do they just appear fully all at once?
  6. Yeah, I have. It was pretty good, but I hope he does end up making secret history 2 and 3 like he said he might. That would be awesome.
  7. Yep I've heard about the cookies Also- It's really difficult to choose because they are all amazing, but I would have to say The Final Empire because Kelsier. You?
  8. So I was rereading WoR and theres a single line qoute that suprised me. On page 587 it says something about the white fog appearing as little vines in the air. The shardblade being summoned is Mayalaran, who is, I think, a confirmed cultivationspren- the plant spren, sort of? Anyway, is this something all blades do when summoned? Is it unique to Adolin? Is it because Maya is a deadeye? Something else? Any ideas? It's probably not significant, but knowing Brandon...
  9. So- Brandon has said somewhere, I think, that FTL in later books will be with speed bubbles and some sci-fi stuff like that. But is there other ways? I think that if somebody got F-Gold and F-Steel, they would be able to do it. Compounding would help a lot, though. They could use the speed to move themselves around at faster than light speeds, but it would feel to them like normal. The reason healing is need is because moving that fast through air would cause a lot of air resistance, and then extreme friction burns. So they heal from it. It would take a huge amount of the metal and attributes, so compounding would almost certainly be needed for any reasonable usage of this. Then they could create a FTL travel system, where rich people pay to use some unconnected metal minds when that becomes possible, and boom- no more being late for important meetings. Just hire a few compounders to fill the metalminds. So unless i'm missing some super obvious flaw- is this possible or even useful? Also- F-steel friction qoute Questioner (paraphrased) My friend wants to know how fast steel Compounders could possibly go, can they run up walls or over water like the Flash? Blightsong (paraphrased) *jokingly* Can they run through time? Brandon Sanderson (paraphrased) Steelrunners can resist a lot things due to the power, like they can withstand the Gs they are out through, but they can't ignore wind resistance and friction. They will burn up if they start running too quickly. OdysseyCon 2016 (April 8, 2016)
  10. Hi! I've read all of Brandon's published books, as far as I know, and have been looking at the shard for a while. I haven't created an account until now though! But I'm finally here.
