Lance looked at the rapidly building confrontation. He sighed and shook his head. This was supposed to be his off day. He walked inside, and, skirting around the guards, moved over to one of the shelves, pulling out his Pain-rial subtly. If things got ugly, he would have to act fast. Of course, speed was rarely an issue for a steelrunner.

Lance walked into a small closet sized room, filled with wires, gemstones, and fabrails. He pulled out his painrial, and jammed it into a slot in the wall. The room shook, then made a popping noise. Lance stepped out into a wide circular room of marble & steel. "I can't believe that worked! I had no idea replicating oathgates would be that easy!" Well it doesn't work, not yet. I just wanted to put out the fact that when he swears the third ideal, it will. I'll edit my original post.

The spike is steel. It's not a dead shardblade, it's his lightspren. His lightspren usually refuses to turn into a shardblade, as it considers it "beneath him". My guess is that feruchemy affects beavers WAY MORE than humans, because beaver spirit webs are smaller to begin with, so the chang is more dramatic.
