  1. I think she should have killed the men, as was her human and legal right in that situation to protect herself. She should not have put herself in that situation though, that is an abuse of the law and is a way of intentionally doing wrong without getting in trouble for it. There are always exceptions for laws. Freedom of speech doesn’t let you yell fire in a crowded room. The right to protect yourself doesn’t let you walk around intentionally trying to get attacked so you can harm other humans.
  2. It’s all weird. Those two Shards interacted in unique ways, and Brandon made mistakes while writing that he now has to fix. For example, originally you had to have Preservation interact with your Spiritweb and give you Allomancy, if you wanted to be able to burn atium… which is Ruin’s god metal. But anybody could burn Preservation’s god metal. Brandon has said that that is wrong, and in future books anyone from Scadrial should be able to burn atium.
  3. 1. This person was the child of a blacksmith
  4. I also think they lived in a much more twisted world, which helped them seem worse. Plus, I feel that Ruin has a greater changing influence on the Inquisitors than Odium does on the Fused. The Fused are open to peace, kind of ish, not really but they seem reasonable. The Inquisitors have a much harder time resisting the evil destruction of Ruin, I only know of one resisting.
  5. Yes. When the person providing clues says that a guess is “incorrect” then it doesn’t mean that that guess doesn’t meet the description, it means that that guess was not the person they had in mind Edit: I came up with an example THIS IS NOT AN ACTUAL CLUE THING, DONT GUESS If my person was Dalinar, and I was providing clues, I could say 1. This person is a Shardbearer Now, let’s say you guess Adolin. That isn’t wrong, but it isn’t the person I had in mind so I would say “No, that is incorrect”
  6. Khriss might be correct, but if there is another person who also fits the description that Ene was thinking of, then Khriss is incorrect
  7. Sorry about that, I have now sourced where I found the artwork
  8. Mistborn Secret History. The h word is used, but not as a swear, being used to describe a location. Just thought I should give a warning.

  11. It is important for fighting capabilities, but they are also just rare and beautiful. You would say a painting has no actual value at all, it is just something nice to look at and brag about. Leonardo da Vinci painted the Mona Lisa, currently valued at about 860 million USD, and the Salvatore Mundi, currently valued at about 450 million USD. After some brief research, São Tomé and Príncipe currently has a total net worth of about 470 million USD. That means the Mona Lisa could buy a country, or in this case a kingdom. There are several other nations that are valued at about 2 billion, so they could be largely bought by the Mona Lisa, and some nations l haven’t released any economy info in a long time, but they are expected to be low.

  13. I seriously hate this in books

Character 1: This really bad thing happened, I feel bad/sad/mad or whatever

Character 2: Well you could/should do this, that, or the other

Character 1: Would you have done that in that situation?

    Character 2: Well, no

Like, WHAT. Yall are FRIENDS. Why is character 2 suddenly acting like they are so honorable and character 1 is sullied and able to do bad stuff?!?!

The context for this, I was reading Song of Achilles, I´ll describe the exact scene here

    Spoiler

Patroclus is the main character and best friend of Achilles. Patroclus is a prince who was exiled because he killed someone in kind of self-defense, but didn't try to defend himself when people got mad. Achilles is the prince of the kingdom he was sent to.

After they got to know each other really well and were best friends who could pretty much read each other's minds and always spent time together, Patroclus told Achilles this story.

Achilles said ¨You could have lied, said it was in self-defense, or just acted like you had nothing to do with it.¨

Patroclus then asked if Achilles would have lied, and Achilles gave the infuriating response that he would not have.

Song of Achilles is really good, but I know what you're talking about.

On the other hand, it's an adaptation of Homer, who set the original cliche for literally everything as one of the first epics/fiction that was well-known in the world.

On the third hand, Achilles is just kinda presenting an option.

  14. Ummm, okay Intense Rhythm of War spoiler. Like, don’t open this if you haven’t read every single page of that book. Artwork found here https://www.reddit.com/r/Stormlight_Archive/comments/kdu88v/here_he_stands_fanart/
  15. There was some really important moderator type dude that was on forums as Ookla the Mok, and he really helped Brandon. So now between his birthday and Brandon’s everyone has an Ookla name
  16. I drew a picture once, of Jezrien. It took like 3 hours. I drew a really good Nightblood during school once that took like an hour, but it has been lost and will never be found again most likely
  17. Thanks for the follow!

  18. I finally realized, stress works! 95% of the things I stress about never come true!

    1. Hollow Graves

Umm. Deniable. I stress about test and homework and still manage to fail.

  19. Nah, he isn’t going to retire. He has said many times that he loves having a hobby as his job. He just enjoys writing, that is his passion. He has said that even if not a single person liked his books, he would have still written every single one just for fun. Also, it probably depends on what his kids do. If one of his kids becomes an author and is a good writer then he will probably pass it on to them. But if he sells the rights to someone else then there is a chance his descendants don’t get as much money when books sell.
  20. It will go on for however long Brandon lives, and then possibly longer. It’s like in the Marvel universe, there will always be something he can add to and continue with. When he dies, it will either all end, permanently, or he might choose someone to finish whatever he was working on, or he might choose someone to inherit the writing rights and just continue writing for the rest of their life.
