  1. You need to puncture all three realms to do any magic really. Chronologically she is the oldest actually. She is also pretty young because she was asleep since shortly before the recreance. I don't see how that is possible. The gemheart is so occupied by a regular fused that they can't even keep the original cognitive aspect. I think it much more likely this is just the void equivalent of transportation. Fairly good guess. I don't think I can come up with a good counter. Maybe Kaladin was flying really low to try and avoid sky patrols?
  2. He is not. This is a separate power. It seems a radiant mission given that she has sequestered a merchant in the tower and Adolin is in on it. Also someone, probably Jasnah, caught on to Iailai's betrayal. I would not be surprised though if the GB are monitoring and approve of taking out the SoH. One less competitor. It is kind of like general. A captain leads troops in the field. A highmarshal is in charge of general strategy for a specific region or location. I think it would be smarter to just get to the proper location with some aluminum. Attacking a fortified position that probably has at least a few radiants sounds hard. THANK YOU! Fused don't have bondsmiths IIRC.
  3. I called the flying ship! I even got close on the name! I did not expect that number of edgedancers though. Also in case I did not make this clear time to start on the next next chapter(s).
  4. Makes sense. Much better then our silly system.
  5. As stated above we have no idea. Although it does make sense that a shard called autonomy would be territorial.
  6. Thanks!
  7. I think he wants to draw enemy forces to his position sparing the civilians and allowing his own forces a fairly safe avenue of attack. A very Kaladin thing to do. Agreed. Much more better way of putting it
  8. I should have added that we also like because she is independent. She is willing to solve her own problems. I love how she reacts to the idea of being rescued.
  9. I would hope that Kaladin is a little more sensitive then that.
  10. It comes off a bit patronizing when you say it. Just FYI.
  11. I did. Please be slightly less patronizing. Thank you. Also the WoB you referenced was probably this one. MB spoilers.
  12. Sure. I am just having a hard time coming up with one that makes sense. The only one I can think of that is even somewhat reasonable is that she is involved in setting up some kind of big fabrial like she did at Narak(possibly for transportation of civilians) but I would think that a group of specially trained individuals could probably do that even under stress.
  13. Less then a day until the next set of RoW chapters come out. I want to see what people think they will be about as well as who can come up with the most accurate predictions of what they will consist of. Given the information of the last two and the 7/8 reading I guess the following. Kaladin will engage the fused and said fused will call reinforcements. However Kaladin has actually prepared for this and will call in reinforcements of his own. Team Odium will be heavily outnumbered and this will allow Team Radiant to force them aware from civilians. Not liking how things are going the fused will scatter threatening the civilians and forcing team radiant to divide their forces. We will see a bunch of what the fused are capable of as well as how much radiant discipline and training has improved. The end result will be the fused going to ground along with at least one tragedy. My big guess is that Team Radiant will have prepared a mass evacuation (some kind of transport probably involving boxes for windrunners to move people around more efficiently).
  14. I get that Lift being told to get her makes people think that she is here but even if she is. How would a fast examination by Navani really tell them anything? I have a hard time believing that even the best scholar in a given field could come to practical conclusions about a device she had never seen before by doing a spot examination without any kind of equipment or consultation. As such I am forced back into my original conclusion. Kaladin just wants the fabrial in Navani's scholar's hands ASAP.
  15. I should say that I think Brandon would have had a more immediate account then "I know he has one," if he had formal group membership IE an important role.
  16. I just checked my OB copy. I could not find any situations that could not be accounted for by either "We have no idea what is happening but that boss lady does" or "yeah that is Jasnah. It is a better idea just to do what she says."
  17. Formal rank yes but in a crisis people tend to follow those who appear to have some idea of what is going on. If magical monsters showed up and a magic knight showed up to fight them I am betting most people including military officers would follow them. Remember Jasnah's lesson. Power is an illusion of perception. If people think following you is the right thing to do they will do it regardless of their technical authority. Jasnah has some idea of what is going on and is used to being obeyed. If she has a plan she knows people would follow it.
  18. Couldn't they do that after evacuating? Also welcome to the shard it is nice to meet you. My current theory is that a large number of squires are here and are prepared to evacuate the townsfolk in large numbers using flying bridges(really just boats that they lash but will totally be called storm bridges). This would also explain why such a large number of Radiants are here. They need to fight off the fused that will be in the area.
  19. She seems a bit to practical for that. That is why I, Syl and many others like her so much. She is one of the few people who really gets that under it all Kaladin is just a grouchy farm boy who wants to be left alone to do some kind of practical retentive work. #Single Heroes.
  20. And Ishar is completely nuts.
  21. I think that could easily be attributed to her radiant status as well as her relationship with Dalinar. I do not think it had anything to do with her roll as a princess. Considering her gender I also doubt it was about ranking specifically.
  22. But Szeth only has around one PoV. I do not think that sufficient for group membership. They may not have viewpoints in Part One. We know that two of the G1 characters do not have major major roles.
  23. More obvious then Kaladin wanting to get that fabrial to Navani ASAP and Dalinar running OPs remotely(he has the experience and we know he has done so)? I am not sure it has gone wrong yet. It makes sense that Kaladin would reveal himself. Doing so would not have the fused think that something is up(they were looking for him) while at the same time concentrating their forces on him sparing civilians and making their moves easier to predict for everyone else here.
