Its the name a man from an educated family. Lighteyed names have meanings. Like Adolin means "he who is born unto light." Darkeyed names don't have any real meaning. Kaladin got his name because his parents have some formal education.

Vivenaa (to the best of our knowledge) is not a returned so Endowment can not take credit for her. The old magic is done by The Nightwatcher. Cultivation generally does not interfere with that. The only "Old Magic" that Cultivation has actually done is with Dalinar which was successful. But Endowment does not want to get involved in Roshar. She still holds vary strongly to her interpretation of the none interference agreement. No good can come of two Shards settling in one location. It was agreed that we would not interfere with one another, and it disappoints me that so few of the Shards have kept to this original agreement. As for Uli Da, it was obvious from the outset that she was going to be a problem. Good riddance. Regardless, this is not your concern. You turned your back on divinity. If Rayse becomes an issue, he will be dealt with.

Moash did not have any moral or physical obligation to be in battle. He was not realy helping anyone by charging the walls nor did he think he was. He could have gone on his way and done no harm to anyone he was killing people for no reason. Dead people are dead people regardless of how they die and claiming that Moash's actions are somehow better then Elhokar's because they took place combat with personal malice as apposed to Elhokar's which took place out of combat but without any malice at all strikes me as a little silly.

It could be useful. I kind of want Brandon to have it at least for a few decades.

Errors? Plot hints? Something's not right, here.
Karger replied to galendo's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think that both humans are not paying attention to the casmfiend's eyes do to Kaladin's injuries. Good catch. It is possible that some fabrials require stormlight from a specific gemstone(the way you can only soulcast certain essences with specific ones). There is a fabrial that can be used to transfer stormlight from one gemstone to another of the same type so it is possible that in the past infused rubies were the only way to power fabrails. I am not sure if the stormlight looses its "flavor" once a radiant has sucked it in and at that point in the timeline Dalinar might not be either. @Nellac answered this fairly well. Dalinar mentions in Oathbringer that spanreads have gotten cheaper in recent years. Early on in the learning curve the only people involved in government or warfare used spanreeds. Knowledge on Roshar is a bit odd because ancient records possessed knowledge that modern scholars do not understand. For example everyone on Roshar follows basic rules for sanitation (like hand washing) as "the wisdom of the Heralds" even though they have no idea about the bacteria that cause disease. This along with various problems like the Desolations Radiant betrayal, and Hierocracy have significantly slowed down Rosharan advancement. I don't think he was using any surge at the time at all. The draws were probably fabrials designed to open as soon as "powered up." All Renarin did was push stormlight into the gemstones that powered it. -
Tapping your chest can refer to yourself.

Their are some downsides to using to much thought. As Truthwatcher said strange things do happen to your mind also I believe you start needing a lot more food and get a bunch of health issues. That being said. You could use it like atium in some scenarios(hand to hand combat or even shoot outs that happen where everyone is visible) but I doubt it will be much help against snipers, on a large battlefield, or against someone else using atium or electrum.

I do not recall that line but I think he was referring to himself.

Syladin is already a thing if we are speaking in emotional but not romantic manner. The romance in Oathbringer did kind of annoy me(I find that romance is not Sanderson's forte) but I have always rather like Shalolin because the relationship feels like something that can actually exist outside of Hollywood.

He plead lack of time which he apparently could do legally. It is rather like how in the US you can be held briefly without even charging you for anything. Also Elohkar was acting under false information. There is a reason exerting improper influence over a head of state may be considered treason. Also all of these actions were caused by incompetence not malicious intent. Lets make this analogy not suck OK(you may insert a more polite version of the words not suck)? A person with limited to experience at bus driving or driving at all is thrust into a bus driver position for "job training." A passenger who the bus driver feels he can trust advises him to cut off an older couple in traffic in a extremely irresponsible manner of questionable legality(the passenger just wants to get to their destination faster). As a result an accident occurs and an elderly couple dies. Latter the grandson of the couple tracks down this man and kills him while that man is trying to redeem himself by doing community service. The original bus driver did not actually intend for physical harm to befall anybody. The original bus driver should not have been in a situation where he could hurt anybody. The original bus driver did to some degree accept responsibility for actions he undertook while at the bus's weal. He could have said no and stayed home until he acquired the necessary experience to drive bus's safely. The passenger did want to inconvenience if not harm other humans for his own personal gain. The passenger did not explicitly want to hurt anyone although he was fine with reckless endangerment. The bus driver's boss presumable did know the driver's skill level and chose to put him in that position anyway. The bus driver's boss did not know that the driver would listen to a passenger but it was a possibility. The grandson could derive no benefit from the death of the driver. Society as a whole realy derived no benefit from the death of the driver. No specific individual or group of individuals would derive any real benefit from the death of the driver(this might not be true on Roshar but at the same time it kind of might be. I seriously doubt anyone is going to gain much from his death. The "victory," as we currently understand it, was mostly a personal one).

Other way around. I meant Syl knowing Notum who to the best of our knowledge is not an incredibly important person.

What did Harmony dor for the Southern Continent?
Karger replied to Eran of Arcadia's topic in Mistborn
The region is a normal temperature. Doing what you describe would work but it would likely cause a cascade of other problems. -
Shenanigans. Under Vorinism they had they rights to an inquest which they lost out to via legal menoverings no laws were broken. Most rulers fail their "duty" to their subjects at several points in their careers and vengeance is never laudable humans figured that one out thousands of years ago. It is also worth noting that Elhokar never made a similar mistake. Dalinar imitatively knew what Kaladin was talking about.

Their are only 10 orders of Radiant spren and one of those has only three members. If every spren in the community knows almost every other spren and spren memories and social structures are anything like human ones that limits the spren population of each group to only a couple hundred members.

But plenty of returned do fail. We know for a fact that Blushweaver was supposed to stop the war but things did not work out and she only made things worse. Yes Endowment had a backup plan but given the nature of the current court of the gods I think she slips up a bit.

Possible but as yet nonexistent magical powers?
Karger replied to Karger's topic in Cosmere Discussion
A bit but we have not seen any active Dustbringers. -
Not realy. What you are realy say is that the vessel that holds the shard of binding can't find fault with your claim. However said vessel is not impartial omnipotent all knowing or otherwise infallible. Even the shards themselves are capable of errors in judgement as they are still directed by sentient "human" "brains." Murder is a legal definition. You could claim that he killed unethically but I the actual cause of the deaths you are referring to was incompetence not evil intent. By this logic you should also call most presidents (including the current one and previous ones like Washington and Lincoln) Murderers.

Can you give us an idea of the pre Recreance numbers of Radiants by order? All we know is their were only up to three bondsmiths and that Windrunners had a a lot of squires. Is it possible to steal the entirety of some one's spiritual aspect via hemolergy and then place it in a new body or is the process too damaging?

But no conscious control over the power and no way to invert it. -
Is FLT (faster than light) possible in the Cosmere?
Karger replied to Whynot's question in Cosmere Q&A
Brandon Sanderson (paraphrased) Rosharans already have an ansible. (reported by Kurkistan) Spanreeds are, basically, evidence that FTL is possible in the Cosmere. It's not the only example too. (reported by Blightsong) Footnote: Heavily paraphrased, aggregated from multiple comments. -
Is FLT (faster than light) possible in the Cosmere?
Karger replied to Whynot's question in Cosmere Q&A
We do know actually. We have WoB confirmation. -
The whole moving continents stuff was when he first ascended and did not have to worry about the shard's intent(s). He now has to be more circumspect. Making more mistborn and producing atium specifically for them to use is not something he can do very easily especially because he promised not to take sides. Giving a few hints to some people on the ground seems to be the limit of what he is going to do.

I recently resized that the depth and scope of the Cosmere indicates that we should be able to predict or at least theorize some powers that do not currently exist. I was wondering why no one has yet exhibited powers that manipulate connection between other people. Perhaps using this you could form teams more easily as everyone would know each other much better. You could also use it destructively to interrupt teamwork.
