  1. I know this. I did read all of Mistborn. My point was that he did not preserve himself at the expense of Scadrial which if shards literally acted out their intents he would be doing. Fortune is not luck! Scadrial's survival was a long shot he just did the best he could. Leras himself says that he is not sure that his brilliant plan would work or not. Not all future sight is Fortune either. Ruin would not splinter himself. I agree. Shards don't act out their intents. Interesting theory. Only Dalinar is not realy Connected to Cultivation by nature. I don't see him growing into that.
  2. Well in your defense they are not available where you live.
  3. All shards are bound by the oaths they make even Odium. Also Ruin would be breaking himself into as many pieces as possible to maximize entropy and Preservation would never sacrifice himself (he would be looking out for number 1). Cultivation does not cultivate herself(in fact as a shard she realy can't change that much). We have WoB confirmation on this BTW.
  4. I am fairly sure the Nightwatcher could grant it so seeking her out might work. One of the Selish magic systems should also be able to do that too. I don't think Hemalurgy is the best way to go about this but if you can find a way to spike out the mental ability to understand others and get a bunch of those spikes it might work...
  5. A shard wants to apply their intent to other things not to themselves. Otherwise how would Preservation sacrifice himself or Ruin stay in one piece?
  6. Do we know anyone with that ability to spike out?
  7. Mind reading is incredibly difficult in the Cosmere(if it is even possible). Even the shards don't realy seem to be able to do it. You could spike out something like emotional perception that would make you better at emotional incite but that is about it.
  8. In Stormlight? Dalinar is probably the most interesting and best done POV character. He is wise in a way that is actually understandable and his life experience as the cultural ideal of his people(one that he now rejects) make him very interesting.
  9. That is both theoretically possible and an actually good idea kudos. Imagine how convenient it would be if you could move it through the CR to a world that is not a shardworld?
  10. Getting near them seams like a bad (if interesting) idea.
  11. Well Vasher is either grumpy or ignorant of the consequences of his actions(take your pick). Shashara created Nightblood and then used it in battle. Denth is kind of evil after the manywar. Arsteal is kind of an idiot from what we know about him. Yesteel is a sneaky nerd who creates zombie armies(that is kind of cool but still).
  12. The gunpowder era can be a bit jarring but it is done quite well. It makes sense that fantasy worlds advance culturally and technologically. To enjoy it you have to let go of some assumptions about what fantasy "should" be. I think that alone makes the experience worthwhile.
  13. What happens if you fill a pool of water with an insoluble water resistant material?
  14. It works either way realy. Also without reading Secret History it does not make a lot of sense. Also also a careful reading of Shadows of Self will spoil that ending anyway.
  15. Why read era 2 first?
  16. Just checking. I find it odd that a sane person would want to spend a significant amount of time in Nightblood's presence.
  17. What about cockroach form? You look, smell, sound act, and even move disgustingly but you are invincible.
  18. No but I think it extraordinarily unlikely that she knows about Scadrial but not about Roshar(considering the existence of caravans between them) and her scientific background would tell her that humans are not native to that planet(no shells) so it seems likely that it is Roshar that she is referencing there.
  19. I personally think of it as blocking realmatic transitions between the spirit and cognitive realms and the physical realm. It prevents investiture from flowing like a resistor. I do not think you can sink investiture(otherwise Nightblood would have overwhelmed his sheath by now).
  20. That sounds more like Vengeance(Cultivation calls Dalinar child of Odium and Child of Honor based on his actions at The Rift). The different Honor Cultivation Combinations are the Radiant spren.
  21. Humans are in all three realms but we still need a perpendicularity to make full transfers. Elhokar's budding powers might have let him see into shadesmar the spren were already being attracted he just did not understand what was going on. Windspren are kind of everywhere in the physical realm. Syl also mentions following the winds to find him.
  22. Track chemical spills? Learn about ecology? Destroy my enemies by summoning the surrounding slugs and showing them how to get into their food supply?
  23. Although most of the fused have not yet left Braize yet as of Oathbringer. This means that if the Oathpact is reinstated it will still keep out the fused who are not yet on Roshar.
