This is all great potential but what we actually know about Venli as a person is minimal.

Perhaps he wants to banish them to a harmless shardworld where they can do no damage because spren are realy hard to kill.

He does have Lightweaver potential in terms of attitude. Also what do you think he is seeing behind his eye? DIE DIE DIE!

sony is a profitable studio. It is not like this is going to put them out of business. If Disney is the only place that has good content then they deserve to have a monopoly. Also Spiderman originally belonged to marvel. Sony had their chance with him and failed. Marvel succeeded. So Marvel can do a better job so Marvel should have the character. I am not going to support the creation of inferior material just to make Disney work a little bit harder to control the entire market. Do they? I would not be surprised if part of the reason they are doing this is just to try and slow down the MCU a little. They have made five movies with spiderman in it all of which used him correctly and in which he added to the story in a positive way. sony has made about the same number if I remember correctly. Superhero movies in the 70s suck across the board. Superhero movies also sucked in the late 90s. Marvel should not have made another Hulk movie and they did not. I am not just mad that something bad could happen. I am annoyed that something ongoing that was good will now be ruined.

Question on the Technology Level of South Scadrial
Karger replied to scudalarm's question in Cosmere Q&A
300 actually. That is 300-the effect that the ice death had on them. Meh. If a US aircraft carrier fell out of the sky on scadrial it would probably end about the same. Advanced weapon systems are not that useful when they are broken and small arms are small arms more or less. -
Rolls eyes. Calling one cooperation more greedy then another is ridiculous based on any understanding of the capitalistic system of economic management. I don't care which one anyone things is being unfair. My only interest as a consumer is to receive superior content which I do not have faith sony can provide. Maybe. All we realy know at the moment is that this part of negotiations got closed down and this bothers me. They were still realy bad and I do not want to spend money watching them or anything that could potentially lead to them again. Marvel simply has a better track record with spiderman movies so and since I like spiderman I want him in the studio who has demonstrated the capacity to make good movies about him.

Depends on the powers that feruchemist has. If they have full then my money is on the feruchemist with steel.

Most of the enemies the face will not be fused they will probably be warform parshmen. It is important to recapture productive lands for economic reasons not just military ones. Also it may become a political necessity. True but their soldiers are much more proficient then the average parshmen who have only a year or two of sentience. Human armies will be better trained led and organized at the lower levels which the fused might not have the numbers to supervise closely in their own armies. This is nothing like the past but I agree that newer strategies will be helpful.

Exactly. If she had not done that she would likely have died once her stormlight ran out. If you can duplicate that kind of effect with poison(something your body can't get rid of) you can kill almost anyone in the cosmere.

We know met Artsteal at one point several months before warbreaker but that is it I think.

Question on the Technology Level of South Scadrial
Karger replied to scudalarm's question in Cosmere Q&A
Arcanum Unbounded release party (Nov. 22, 2016) #165 Share Copy Play/Pause Questioner Hoid worldhops between places. How did he do it on Scadrial? With Ati's body? Brandon Sanderson So, there were two perpendicularities on Scadrial. Questioner I know he uses the pools, but how did he do it with Pits of Hathsin? There was no pool? The body was there... Brandon Sanderson So, it doesn't have to be going through the pool. What happens with a perpendicularity is, where there is a massive collection of Investiture, it pulls a conduit through. So, if you know what you're doing and where you are, you can get through that. Questioner So you don't have to use the pools, just where there's a huge concentration... Brandon Sanderson A huge concentration of Investiture will warp the realms. Questioner So can anyone worldhop that way, then? If they know what to do? Brandon Sanderson If they know what to do, in a perpendicularity, anyone should be able to get through there. But as proven with Raoden, if you don't know what it's supposed to do, nothing happens. He gets dumped int he pool, he thinks he's gonna die... nothing. So, it's more than just being there. Questioner That's how he went from the Physical to the Cognitive, so I was wondering how did he do that at the Pits of Hathsin, when there shouldn't be a pool there Brandon Sanderson Well, that is the equivalent. This would have been around the time of the war of ash. So they had very few metalborn and no devices like they have now. I also don't think that there was a perpendicularity their as we have confirmation that their were only two on scadrial at the time and both are accounted for. -
They would have made money off another marvel spiderman movie(far from home was their most profitable movie ever). They decided to make their own movies instead. They also closed down negotiations. Also do you remember what happened the last time sony made a live action spidreman movie?

Fault is irrelevant it was sony's decision to walk away from the table as apposed to continuing negotiations.

Star Wars Ep 9 The Rise of Skywalker
Karger replied to Briar King's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Did Rey not go after Kylo at the begging of FA? Was Rey ever some boundlessly optimistic type who believed in the good of her fellow man? I don't remember her ever being like this. She goes to Luke for help and answers when that fails she tries something else. How is this character development? I do the same thing when the bus is running late and I decide to take the train instead. I would have liked some exploration into what makes her tic and why she has faith that her family will come back for her despite being such a down to earth practical type? Did we watch the same movie? He was never betrayed by any of his students he let one of his students down. He failed and did not bounce back. That is not the Luke that I know. Why do they see themselves in each other. They have nothing in common except force sensitivity and a relationship to Han(which is never realy brought up). They are from very different backgrounds and have extremely different views on life(I think. They did in the first movie but their motivations were vague up so much that I can no longer understand them). Shrugs. I will allow that the movie had stunning CGI. However I expected stunning CGI. This was star wars. CGI can't make a bad movie great no matter how good it is. That was me agreeing. I enjoyed seeing Luke do awesome Jedi stuff. My only complaint was that it was at the end of the movie and we had to wait around for two hours while Mark Hamill stumbles around sounding way too irritable to be the Luke I know. Any number of ways that are consistent with the source material. Luke should be hopeful wise, and fun loving, but maybe just a little bit strained at this point like it takes effort to be himself and not give into despair. This is just one suggestion. I am sure people who do this for a living can come up with others. -
Spiderverse is fine. I was refereeing to them stealing Marvel's spidy.

Only bullets. I am not sure that we would see the same effect with something like a barbed arrow.

I am considering boycotting any movie sony makes.

Star Wars Ep 9 The Rise of Skywalker
Karger replied to Briar King's topic in Entertainment Discussion
I don't think that is fair. I would want some explanations into Snoke a better depiction of Luke and more time exploring characters as apposed to just adding more imagery. -
I agree she will most likely be at whatever forward command center they set up. Where that is will depend on how the war has been going in the last year.

This does not sound like retirement. -
So is she going to be an awesome queen on horseback?

Wit's point is that tyranny is at least expedient at the current time. Having an actual mandate to rule is necessary long term but in the mean time they don't have any good options.

Star Wars Ep 9 The Rise of Skywalker
Karger replied to Briar King's topic in Entertainment Discussion
I would have thought that was great too. However Rey got minimal character development and even screen time(considering she was a main character). Also if her parents were nobodies it should have been a big reveal not an offhand comment. Agreed. His death was exiting but it made no sense. How did Kylo manage it? Who was he? What abilities did he have? If you want to kill him off that is great go ahead but please be able to explain some basic questions afterward. Um. This movie had millions of Disney dollars put into it. This does not mean it deserve a Kudo this is expected. A movie with this kind of money should only be notable for its editing if that editing is terrible. I actually think they did a comparatively poor job at this. We spend so much time jumping through places and people that have minimal or no effect on the plot. Spending time with supporting or minor characters is great but maybe having them interact with our protagonists in a meaningful way would have been nice? This was good although again millions of Disney dollars. However my main problem with this scene is that I had no idea of Kylo's motivations or what themes the movie was going for here. Ideally in a star wars movie a fight scene should be thematic. IE in Winter Soldier Cap refuses to fight offensively because he is standing by his unshakable beliefs while Bucky is full offense because off the amount of pent up rage and betrayal. Watching them fight together was great but what does it mean? Do they both just not want to die? Do they have a common goal or belief? Have they agreed on something? I have a problem with that. Can you describe their relationship? Do they desire to understand each other? Are they both hoping for someone to help them? Is it romantic or adversarial? I don't know and I am not sure how I am supposed to. $$$$$$$$$. Also the battles make absolutely no sense. I am constantly wanting to throw a mutiny and put some sensible plan into action. Luke has always had both. This movie made him hopeless which I could not stand! His first appearance pissed me off. Why did he throw it away? Could he not hand it back or at least accompany it with and explanation as to why he hates it? Sure. Some movies have holes. This movie was swiss cheese. I wish I could voluntarily ignore the problems. However I could not so I can't stand this movie!
