    The eyes?

    They were not.
  2. That is terrible and I do not want to believe it. It also seems wrong to me morally. That is complete mischaracterization of the point. We punish murders by imprisonment to keep an ordered society. We all want to live in a world were we feel safe from being murdered and when murderers are kept out of the general population and their actions are shown to be wrong this benefits us all. Plenty of people are stupid enough to feel justified killing someone else. These people do need to be shown the error of their ways. To use a somewhat inflammatory example that would never actually happen. If Hitler had survived the 2nd world war and spent the rest of his life speaking out against genocide, war, hatred, antisemitism, and totalitarian government while saving the world from a zombie apocalypse I would be somewhat inclined to root for him despite being a member of one of the groups he tried to exterminate. Amaram was never truly repentant of his crime. He never leaned from his mistakes. And judging scale in horrible crimes is the sort of useless exercise only humans would come up with. It is like judging pain. I broke my collar bone you shattered every bone in your body. Does this make my pain better because it is less then yours? Of course not. Also Amaram's actions were a betrayal of people whose loyalty he had been given Dalinar's were a response to betrayal. I was not and never will. Still glad that Tanalan is dead. Because it would be contrived. What are the actual odds someone could survive the Rift identify themselves and actually get into a conversation with Dalinar? Brandon likes to keep things somewhat realistic in his writing. This would be interesting but Brandon has a lot to do in these books. Just because an interesting character concept exists does not mean that he is morally obligated to use it. As things currently stand Dalinar is indispensable. Without a bondsmith(specifically the Stormfather as he has Honor's CS) the Radiant chances of wining are considerably lower. Also he just won a round with Odium. Is some crazy group of people pretending the Rift never happened?
  3. Those were his ravings. He could not use boiling or freezing because the units of measurements might change.
  4. We know little but you are for some reason sure that Roshar is primarily human despite not having any such evidence? Anyway my statement still stands. In total war between two large groups neither side is the underdog. Does it? Individual latitude is sometimes required and can be quite beneficial to an organization. Some military thinkers theorize that this is in fact optimal. We also have a limited understanding of how the Knights worked as an organization. Perhaps they were actually rather dysfunctional in certain areas. People are stupid and intelligence is not required to be a KR. Also Kaladin went through the same phase during the third oath. He did not fully understand what was being asked of him and so he made some rather stupid mistakes. No. The oaths are not part of their organization they are ideals for each knight. Plenty of elsecallers were military despite being an overtly scholastic order. Not all Windrunners were military. Some were undoubtedly academics, or diplomats. Quote by Kaladin from Oathbringer. Kaladin had a huge problem fighting before he became a Radiant. He did not hate Dalinar. He hated Elhokar for stopping him from killing Armaram Reread WoR. Kaladin tells Moash that Elhokar is innocent(at least in his eyes). I am glad you are not a Windrunner. In warfare victory is impossible in some sense because you can't win without the use of or threat of force. Defeating somone by killing them more effectively then they kill you largely just leads to more problems which is why wining the peace is far more important. The Radiants won over and over again yet Roshar got steadily worse. You don't know what Honor's goals were. Same for Cultivation. They both want Odium defeated but I think their current methodology is ridiculous. Also the Heralds went to Honor for help. He did not necessarily chose them nor does he agree with everything they did. Their cause should be an ideal. Not a political goal. But heroism is seeing past the "sides" to the individuals involved in the conflict. This is what makes Kaladin so special and it is a lesson we really should learn.
  5. Just training someone to do things without going into the theory should be good. Only if a casm opened. I would like to remind you that this only happened once in thousands of years. Untrue. What happens once has the same probability of happening again. We will see. And you can use part of your armada to convoy your merchant fleet if necessary. Teod can trade with Elantris. Napolean's continental blockade worked by banning British ships from European ports. And Sarene finds a way to crush said opposition. Design aonic poison removers. Make it so that none Elantrains can't enter your homes uninvited with an aonic lock. Don't fraternize with strangers or causally hook up with them.
  6. No problem. 100% agree.
  7. What does this neutral planet's CR look like? If it is like Roshar's see of spheres then TRL will probably sink. Side note. Does the sea of spheres have a bottom?
  8. The series is over. The next series on Taldain will be following Khriss.
  9. It does not say. However unless both sides are sticking around the perpendicularity(which the Radiants would be stupid to do). This will not help. There is. It depends on the mass of the metal.
  10. Where are you from and which perpendicularity did you use? Have you visited any cool locations and did you have any difficulty getting there? The CR can be torturous.
  11. You get steadily more delusional as this involves thinking of an object behaving in a way that it would not. You get steadily less sane. You get steadily less emotional. You get steadily more emotional. For every action there is an equal and oppose reaction.
  12. TLR can't effect the CR. Just retreat their and do so at your leisure. We have hundreds of elsecallers with us. If they work together they can probably pull it off.
  13. How does one reverse engineer this possess? Remember TLR experimented for a thousand years with hemalurgy and did not figure out any combinations but the three he ascended with. Allik mentions that they reverse engineered the ones the sovereign gave them to figure out the manner of creation.
  14. But the elsecallers can eliminate his metalminds and metal supply. Even at fill steal compounded speed he is only moving a few hundred miles per hour and he is fighting people with healing abilitites. As soon as his steal metalminds are gone he can be pined down and destroyed.
  15. How would a speed bubble help? Elend was fighting in god mode. A speed bubble would effectively deplete his atium even faster.
  16. Assuming he knew how to use it. Remember it requires physical contact.
  17. We don't actually know that. Also in this kind of totally racially motivated war I do not think classifying either side as "underdog" is accurate. They may pick their own mission and on this particular mission they were not fighting something I would consider a person. The fact that they take action is not surprising. Also just because they agree to go on missions does not indicate that they are morally obligated to go on any mission your hypothetical authority wants them to. And..? This all makes sense for the purposes of training and administration but it does not tell us that they always agreed with or went along with HQ. The Windrunner in question is recording their thoughts at the time. This Windrunner could easily be wrong about what is being asked of them or at least have an emotional take on it that is not consistent with the spirit of the oath. Radiants can be of any profession regardless of order. Not all of them are as archetypal as Kaladin. How do you hurt people... Because he could imagine that they were not people. He kind of did. Actually he just saw it as wrong to try and kill someone who was incompetent but doing his best. This is largely why he equates Elhokar with Tein. Because he understood that Elhokar was innocent(ish) and that he did not deserve assassination. I personally hope that someone entrusted with the power of a Windrunner would learn to see past the illusion of separation. Sides exist only in the minds of humans. They have no inherent real existence. A Windrunner must protect even those they feel personal or political antipathy against. I think that level 4 or 5 Windrunners should trust that the enemy believes in their cause enough to die for it and as such killing them is not wrong. They should be introspective about conscripted soldiers and give the option to surrender but when fighting against an enemy who has deliberately chosen to fight against you military force is acceptable. Pretty much. Mostly agree. I am willing to say they are evil or at least destructive enough that they cannot be trusted around civilians and as such should be killed. What is with you and sides?
  18. Can you start a thread to discuss this?
  19. Throws up a little. You don't need much theory to do most work. How often do you think earthquakes of that magnitude happen? Also they now know exactly how to fix things if it does. Why not? What about it? Teod has the best armada on earth. No one defeats the Teod armada. Have you met Sarene? People do what she tells them to. This works for a small group of Elantrains unprepared. A group of well prepared Elantrains will have aonic force fields or something. Again. Not as much as you seem to think. Aonic force fields.
  20. YKYASFW you develop Atlantis complex around 16.
