More of "Spensa is clearly in an inferior possession to him so it would be difficult for her to refuse that kind of relationship and that calls into question whether or not she is consenting freely." I mostly agree but I would like to point out that people are different. I am also not alone my my sentiment. Shallan could have left the relationship there and made a few public appearances for appearances sake if she really wanted to. She chose to spend time with him. Then how do you explain all of his caring for her well being, his interest in her studies and latter her Radiance, the amount of time they spend having fun together, or the fact that he constantly is looking out for her interests and helping her get to know his family? More. Syl who is unframilure with human relationships does not really get how Kaladin feels about Shallan. Considering he does not really know how he feels this makes sense. A therapist is not necessarily a bad thing. Also the fact that Kaladin is happier around Shallan does not mean he is romantically attracted to her. Like Shallan and Adolin? Most of their Romance happened a long time ago. Navani is introduced as Dalinar's old flame. Of course we know they like each other from the get go. Also from our conversation that seems like your kind of love story not mine.

Welcome? What works have you read?

I personally think the best option would be to have the Elantrain's none magic children get an education and take a job somewhere else. As to spouses well... Unless they find a youth aon that works you are in serious trouble.

Raises eyebrows. No. The two of them do not have that kind of relationship. It would also be inappropriate(he is her commanding officer technically). Sometimes I feel like one of a small minority of people who just would like "Young people of the opposite gender can have intimate relationships that are not romantic!" This is true both in real life and if should be more true in literature. Dalinar and Navani both mention that he, his brother, and her were all members of an epic Rosharan love triangle but he backed up so she ended up with Gavilar despite her feelings. Actually this is one element of Sandromance that I actually like. Generally romance is neither the only nor the least important thing on anyone's mind at any given time. Sure Dalinar love's Navani but he also has the weight of the world on his shoulders. I read that as her having a bit of a crush that she would not admit(thus making the crush worse) and giving it to Veil. This is actually a good example of Shallan being Shallan. They have spent a considerable amount of time together both on and off screen and at no point did I get the sense that she is spending time with him out of a sense of obligation. As I have said from the beginning. I never got the sense that Kaladin had feelings for her at all he just liked the idea of her. Someone who had suffered more then him but at the same time had not developed depression. Also he liked how she made him feel because it is A a Lightweaver power and B reminded him of Tien. First of all how is could that ever be not angsty. Second of all this implies that you belive they actually had feelings for each other in the first place(something I don't realy except). I think you are remembering several different scenes. 1. Syl hounding Kaladin about relationships that he is not in and (at least once) women he is not actively "seeing." This happens on his journey to hearthstone and afterward. 2. Syl telling Kaladin that she thinks he should be seeing that nice Lightweaver girl. Also journey to hearthstone and afterward. 3. Syl telling Kaladin that she likes Shallan. Journey to Kohlinar. 4. Syl telling Kaladin to talk to Shallan because he has depression and PTSD and she makes it better. This could be Syl unconsciously recognizing Shallan's Lightweaver powers.

No. You are thinking of southern tec again. My idea is based on a theoretically sound principles. The only reason a Mistborn can't get an effect from a metalmind is that metalminds are identity locked. An unlocked metalmind should confer F abilities on the Mistborn burning it. A fullborn should be able to make blank nicrosil metalmind that when tapped by a feruchemist grants alomancy by the same method.
-
But they don't have full alomancers of feruchmists. Kelseir also built the Bands somehow.
-
Ohh I had a discussion with a friend that gives me a quick fix for this problem easy. According to Vendell(BoM chapter three) if you blank your identity you can produce a metalmind that anyone can use. All you need is aluminum which the team can get or bring with them. Saze blanks his identity and stores several attributes including his investiture(I don't know if era 1 could get any nicrosil but era two can bring so it does not matter). Vin or Kelsier burns this metal turning themselves into a fullborn and then they repeat the prossess turning everyone on the team into a fullborn. Then it is just team of fullborn against TLR and we can have an atium burning F speed run to grab his bracers turning him into an old man which Vin then stabs. Problem solved.

It has been compared to soft hemalurgy. You are removing part of that person's soul. I don't think an undo button exists.

how will perfect gems affect soulcasters?
Karger replied to Kalaksbreath's topic in Stormlight Archive
It could also easily go the other way. The Stormlight might become more difficult to remove and end up damaging the crystal more in the possesses. Perhaps the imperfections help with the infusion drain by making it go faster and more painlessly. -
Maybe. I vote Truthwatcher. However I am doubting it so far. I do like her Larkin pet though. There was Romance in Starsight? Whaaaat? Makes Outraged Noises! That was one of the best romances ever! Its funny, its cute, they both get each other, they both respect each other, they both care about each other and their reasoning makes sense. Also old people having a romance without it coming off as odd or corny. GO Davani! I think Shallan and Adolin actually did a pretty good job of communicating with each other in that subtle way that most writers don't bother with. Adolin just taking the time out to give Shallan a message and talk about their feelings in a nice but not edgy or charged moment is something I can actually see two partners do in real life. Exactly. They don't actually know each other that well. I get no indications that they have interacted much off scene the way I do with Adolin. One somewhat romantically charged moment does not make a relationship. This mostly agree with. When did he admit this?

It acts like a compass. We only know 7 seons. They are as follows Ashe Aon Ashe Light or illumination Len Aon Len Wisdom used for healing Aeo Aon Aeo Bravery no idea what it is used for Hrathen's seon Unnamed aon unknown Opa Aon Opa Meaning is Flower unknown use Dio Aon Dio Meaning is steadfast or immovable use unknown Mai Aon Mai Meaning is Honor use unknown Keep in mind that an aon's cultural meaning and use are not always exactly aligned. If you can spot a(real and verifiable) pattern then congratulations you are smarter then me. We do know that Elantrains spent considerable time looking for new Aons and that many of them had Seons. Also considering the shear number of possible aons(it may be limitless for all we know) I don't know if anyone can tell you one way or the other.

The Stormfather seems to indicate that just re-swearing will not do the job as he says "I know of no way" in response to Dalinar asking if he can figure out how to revive Oathbringer and as the spren of Oaths I think he would know. Also I believe that re-swearing oaths if you are not the original Radiant is confirmed by WoB. Also this is an SA thread. Spoiler tags are a good idea. Everyone is broken one way or another. I still don't want him getting surges. He is the type that is why I think he would be a good mach to revive the blade. Actually Radiance just runs in families the way certain habits or a desire to go into a specific profession does. It is not just geographic. The Kholins have learned many skills and ways of thinking from each other by exposure and those unconsciously lead to spren bonding. We don't realy know that. Because he was killed. So? I fail to see how the last three are relevant. I also happen to think it would take away from Adolin's role in the story for him to be a Radinat. This is my opinion not something that has to be true.

General Reddit 2017 (Dec. 10, 2017) #1 Dec. 10, 2017 Share Copy Snote85 Did Vasher do to himself something similar to what Cultivation did to Dalinar, with his memory? I know in Warbreaker he says he knew the commands to take Denth's memories of things they'd done in the past away. Is there a chance he is not "whole" in his ability to recall his past? Brandon Sanderson It's safe to say that Vasher's memory has a few holes.

I would like her to progress steadily toward full sapience but not give Adolin any radiant abilities. I would like some mechanical changes like a faster draw time and maybe armor summoning. Afterwards I want Adolin to open a school where he will teach others to do the same.

Welcome. What works have you read?

No idea Sure each aon has its own unique meaning. To the best of my knowledge they are normal aons.
-
I don't think so. Seons don't grant magical abilities the way spren do. You either have a seon or you don't and they stay with you because they love you.

powers and limitations of an elantrian
Karger replied to king of nowhere's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
That would raise the question why Elantris does not have the teleport equivalent of an airport and a warehouse of stuff from potential destinations They probably did. True it reminds me of a computer. They care for too much about syntax and not enough about intent however a clever program can do almost anything through a verity of methods. -
The mechanics of passing a seon are unclear. Seons generally stay within the family and the seon knows to start bonding someone else when their current master says so.

Almost obligatory but AWWWWW. I tried to find Hoid's search history but all that happened was my computer got hacked and I ended with my entire drive's memory replaced with copies of a catchy musical single.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Karger replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
And make sure to drink water that has been exposed to heavy metals. YKYASFW you have a debate about the best way to take become a deific figure on era 1 scadrial that lasts several hours and ends up being inconclusive. -
Aarik was always a good warrior no? Even before his travels.
-
Maybe its time for someone to say you. "I will care about my own well being despite it being hard to put first sometimes."
-
In that case theorize away. As long as you realize this I have no objections. I have weirder theories by far
