  1. It was actually a star wars movie. It did not try and pull three hundred got yeah moments like the last one and it actually clearly cared about that fandom.
  2. Karger

    Allomancer Jak

    Agreed.
  3. Not really I think that was a large problem. Skyward has a tighter plot, more twists, and is a lot more focused on Spensa and her crew mates. This one is more world building focused. YES! I agree with all of this.
  4. It is a good idea that they were not really mean and decided to make it all color based instead of shape based.
  5. Hm. I really liked those. Care to explain. Yeah she is kind of tapped out. Oathbringer is probably the most tedious of the SA but it is in my view also the most worthwhile. I agree you might be burning out. Do not read a book out of obligation you will not enjoy it.
  6. Exactly. All oaths are somewhat different no matter the order.
  7. The CR does not move nor does it have sunlight in the traditional sense. Do we know of any heat differences? Also these may be the expression of what is essentially feelings. No it just does not correspond perfectly to real space.
  8. Thanks. I was going over possible inspirations and it was that one that stood out to me. Yeah, apparently it is my thing now. Trying to come up with reasonable guesses about future ideals by looking at human artwork and literature that expresses ideals. Hm. Possibly. You can find the full wording here of both the old and new versions. https://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=20909 If you think something suits Edgedancers better I would be very interested in hearing it. Your own take also seems good but I am not sure if it works for a final ideal.
  9. You just need to hit them enough times so that their chromium runs out. Seems doable.
  10. Edgedancers are the order of Vedel Herald of surgeons. On earth physicians of all kinds swear the Hippocratic oath. Thanks to Lift we know the first three oaths an Edgedancer swears. They are as follows. The first ideal is the same for all Radiants. I do not think it needs discussion. Life before death, strength before weakness, journey before destination. The second ideal however is interesting. I will remember those who have been forgotten. This is quite similar to a passage of the Hippocratic oath. "I will remember that I do not treat a fever chart, a cancerous growth, but a sick human being" the passage is a reminder that as we work to solve the problems of humans as apposed to our own problems or the problems themselves. Many charities or governmental programs actually do this for example confusing a growing economy with better overall prosperity. An Edgedancer's job is to look at real individuals and try to solve their problems at an individual level. I will listen to those who have been ignored. This is quite similar to "I will remember that there is art to medicine as well as science, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon's knife or the chemist's drug" an admonition that sometimes just listening is the best thing you can do when you want to solve somone's problems. This is also how an Edgedancer remains fair, by listening to all no matter how crazy or foolish(Nale). Unfortunately this is where our direct knowledge of Edgedancer oaths no longer sustains us. However the Oath still has more lines. For the fourth oath I think this line is the most important. "I will respect the privacy of my patients, for their problems are not disclosed to me that the world may know." As the person who you go to when you need advice or have a problem Edgedancers more then almost any order probably accrue a large number of dirty secrets. To remain trustworthy and to be trusted by others an Edgedancer must be able to keep confidentiality. So replace patients with a more general term and you are good to go for oath four. Oath five is somewhat more illusory. The Hippocratic oath has many more lines but not all are really appropriate. "May I always act so as to preserve the finest traditions of my calling and may I long experience the joy of healing those who seek my help." Might seem good but honestly it does not really make sense in a way that seems like a commitment the way the others are. Oath five should be about the ultimate goal of an Edgedancer and that goal is to forestall suffering. " I will prevent disease(suffering) whenever I can, for prevention is preferable to cure." Fits this perfectly. If you are interested my pattern of radiant oaths theory is here.
  11. How fast does chromium burn?
  12. Where did the mistborn get terkin armor? The materials to make it are unique to dayside of taldain. You don't get it at the corner store.
  13. What about my other strategy? Hit a mistborn from several different sides with ribbons. Even burning atium will not save a mistborn from being stabbed in the back of the stomach and then bleeding out from a 100 small gashes.
  14. Edgedancers are also impossible to kill. Not sure they even need to. Just keep the Mistborn fighting duplicates of yourself and then sneak up behind them. Also energy projection via illumination. Win. Just sink them into the ground do the same to any metal they are pushing on. Don't seem to have much in the way of combat moves. I assume they have a bottle of water or them. Also even normally a smart sand master could use tendrils to mess with the coins the mistborn uses to hover. The mistborn is going to have a hard time staying in the air. I am assuming that everyone involved in these fights has time to research their opponent. Otherwise to much is open to total chance in these fights.
  15. I think this is confirmed.
  16. You can't duck the massive wall of sand the Paxton? Praxton? buries the entire army in.
  17. This seems close to the truth. Cultures evolve. To the best of our knowledge those are not Kandra.
  18. You can disrupt a sand stream just by putting your hand through it. This would not stop a sand master putting you under a wall of sand like Kenton's father and Atium won't help in that case because you can't exactly duck. I agree that they are not favored to win this particular mach up but I would take a 3 to 7 bet if I knew that the sand master involved was good. We really don't know what average awakeners are like but if one had just a hundred breath and prepped for the fight well I would favor them. You could make lifeless specifically designed to counter mistborn. They would also have to get a grip on someone in shardplate. Good luck making that work.
  19. Wording is going to vary anyway. I don't really want to get hung up on it.
  20. Assuming they have a large number of metal reserves feruchemists beet mistborn any day. Steelrun decapitation. Sand Mastery works too. A good few punctures. Even a really powerful awakener can find a good solution if they have prep time. Also aluminum bullets and a sniper riffle.
  21. It is not just creative people. Happens to everyone. The human mind has cycles of productivity, focus and motivation that go up and down.
  22. Of course he was not! I think he went crazy even before the band broke up!
  23. One factor is the size of the superiority. The superiority had vast numbers of cooperating systems to fight against earth that may not have been fully unified. Also with humans inventing AIs and having a large number of cytonics they would have been harder hit by delver attacks. By the time the third war rolled around the humans must have been pretty beaten down. I posted my full theoretical timeline on this thread.
  24. Claps. Only this fandom could decipher this information before I knew that the information was even released.
