  1. 'Oh, even better; not a mistborn, a coinshot AND a Knight Radiant.’ Thought Rhode. ’Better not try to get him to fight afterall.’ Then bowed and spoke aloud: ”Your Majesty, I am Rhode, a humble swordsman, at your service. I don't do much else, so I probably won't be of a lot of help to you, but know that I am your ally." He prepared himself to stroll out the door. @Rushu42
  2. In Soviet Roshar Moash hates you. In Soviet Roshar Moash actually did do something wrong. In Soviet Roshar Kaladin ships you and Jasnah.
  3. This man had an aura of supreme confidence, and this, Rhode knew, might make him one of the best opponents he'd had in years. To crush that with the needle-sharp point of a sword was so very satisfying. The problem was, with that ammount of confidence, the fellow had to be either very good at fighting, better than Rhode, or even worse, possessing great power, maybe a Mistborn or something. Well, he'd never know if he just sat there. He got up, conscious of the switchblade stiletto up his right sleeve, not that it would do anything if his fears were correct, at least not anything to his advantage. He set the knife down and walked calmly up to the fellow who proclaimed himself to be King and said, "And what what makes you rightful of the position? Many old lunatics say they're King. Only a few can actually back it with authority." He tensed, waiting to see what would happen next. @Rushu42
  4. He sat at the back of a tavern that he couldn't remember the name of. He hadn't even seen the sign coming in, though it should have been there. Unlike most of the previously well dressed men in the bar, Rhode's suit was not rumpled or stained from an evening of drinking his pains to oblivion. He had drank that night, but not excessively, tipping back only a few shots over the last hours. He had to stay sharp if he wanted to goad any tipsy duelists into fighting him the next morning, preferably without getting sucker punched tonight due to too much alcohol and too much pride. That meant staying at least half-way sober. He sat back and observed the tavern's patrons. There was a tall chap in an expensive suit, wearing a full length rapier over on the other end of the room who looked like he had something to prove. That might be his first Target of the night. He sat, considering various strategies to wrangle him into at least a fight to first blood tomorrow. When a man burst in, proclaiming himself king, trying to get everyone to kneel at his feet or something Rhode knew this night would be interesting.
  5. Happy birthday to you!

    Happy birthday to you!

    Happy birthday dear Sherley,

    Happy birthday to you.

    And many more...

  6. Cool. Greatsword fighting really is more like using a halberd than a sword, which makes it kinda unique. Naginatas have always fascinated me somewhat. I think my favorite weapon overall would be the cruciform hilt falchion.
  7. Nice. The two-handed or basket hilted variety? But yes, for any kind of armored fighting polearms are definitely more effective.
  8. Good point, the weapon is not ideal, but It's of a stronger alloy, with a blade shorter and thicker than most to take in consideration it's lack of flexibility, and mainly designed for thrusting against unarmored targets, the blade having a rough edge. And I mean sidesword: They exist and are pretty cool, you should check them out.
  9. Thank you, I have a character already made, so I'll get him approved and then join y'all!
  10. Despite being possibly one of the least active members of the Alleyverse and my tendancy to occasionally bungle these sort of things (hopefully going to keep such behavior to a minimum), I have been reading this thread and the main prequel thread and it has rather struck my interest. I am certainly considering joining the RP if, like standard Alleyverse plots, one can simply join the roleplay at any time. If not, that's good too .
  11. Cool, I should have searched for it a little further than I did, thank you. You reckon I should hide this topic?
  12. Damon stod up from behind the bar with the sawed off shotgun he had been crouching with and surveyed the damage to his tavern the battle had caused. He realized that when fights break out in a tavern, it's probably the bartenders job to tell the combatants to take it outside before brutally murdering each other. Particularly considering how common such occasions were. It most likely would make a great deal less mess.
  13. I don't know if anyone has already posted this video here, but I recently discovered it, despite it being a few months old. Regardless, I figured I'd post the video here should anyone not have seen it before. P.S. Sorry if this is the wrong place on the forum or if the video irrelevant.
  14. Welcome to the shard! Looks like you are already wise to the hidden contents of certain unnamed baked goods presented by strangers. Who was your favorite cosmere character?

  16. Of course there's no such thing as 'falling in love', so Kaladin's end choice about Shallan, whatever his sexual orientation, was the logical one. You can have couples with compatible personalities, and even those who love each other after several years, but the only instantaneous feeling that people ever have when they first see each other is sexual attraction, which is what many mistake for falling in love. He was crushing on Shallan, but knew he didn't actually love her. OB spoilers: She'd probably have to find some way to outdo Shallan on page 622 of OB I've been considering this for over a year now. Vivenna x Kaladin is certainly worth further thought, although we haven't heard a lot about her* yet, so I am uncertain. *At least not in the SA
  17. Reading Oathbringer again, it occurred to me that Jasnah is kind of asking Kaladin and his squires to cuddle her in a roundabout way
